Hello thanks for the vedio the aquarium looks awesome. Please I need advise I have a 125 L aquarium juwel with internal filter . And I have big filter too but This topic confused me is it better to have bigger filter with lot of biological media in planted aquarium or smaller filter ? I have echinodorus and anubias heavy planted aquarium. Thanks a lot
That’s a complex question. As a general rule the bigger the bioload, the more filtration needed. The more powerful your light the less ammonia needed to trigger an algae bloom. If you have a high bioload, (lots of fish, overfeeding or decomposing plants) more biological media is usually better. You have slow growing plants and an internal filter. If you have lots of fish or like to skip a water change, your ammonia, nitrate and phosphate levels might be out of balance and changing to a filter with more biological media and more powerful flow can help reduce algae. You might also want to add a fast growing stem plant like Limnophila sessiliflora to remove excess nutrients, and you should check your current plants are not nutrient deficient.
+Richard O'Donoghue Thank you :) - on behalf of my aquascaping colleague! Fertilisers can be added once a week or split into seven doses to be added every day, it's up to you. Read more about how to take care of your tank and about water change here tropica.com/en/guide/care/. And of course, there's a lot more information and inspiration on our website tropica.com/en/ - check the "Guide" and "Inspiration" sections :)! (25% of the water every week is the usual recommendation).
good evening a question but in this tank there are the original day lamps from 9000k each? everyone says that from 9000k they are not good for the freshwater aquarium but is it true? please if you answer me it is important to me
½ a watt per litre? I bought a rio 180 and with it came a 2x23 watt light, that's more like 1/4 of watt per litre, does that mean rip plants? And if so, why do they sell them as package deals without mentioning that plants wont be able to survive such conditions?
How does that co2 requirement effect the ph-level when it's on at daytime and off at nighttime? Isn't it bad for the fish when levels fluctuate? Thank you :)
+Don Suomi No, in nature CO2 level will also change slightly during the day, depending on conditions including weather changes. Fish live a happy life when they are lucky to live in an aquarium with lots of plants - and when you have many plants in the tank, CO2 addition is required. You can read more about fertiliser and CO here: tropica.com/en/guide/make-your-aquarium-a-success/fertiliser-and-co2/
+Williams Marquess Tropica Substrate should be spread in a 1 cm thick layer (and covered with 4-5 cm of gravel) where you want to put plants. So it will depend on where you intend to put rocks and other decorations material, underneath those you dont need substrate as no plant roots will benefit from substrate. In a tank with these dimensions and with plants all over the surface, you calculate 100 cm x 40 cm x 1 cm = 4000 cm3 = 4 L.
It's not possible to tell how many watts when it comes to LED. Please check our light page here to learn more about light: tropica.com/en/guide/make-your-aquarium-a-success/light/.

Por fin van a estar en Chile !!
Beautiful tank.
Do you add the fertilizer daily or just once a week ?
What water percentage do you change and how often ?

That was a good job
1/2 watt per ltr light so for 180ltr you used 90watts of light?
would be nice if you write tank dimensions on your site or on video description

We tie with fishing line.
