I went to a Jhoon Rhee school. I'm a black belt. I go to one in New Jersey. But, I moved to a different town, so i don't go there anymore. ): I miss it sooooo much ! I was gonna become a 2nd degree in August.
By the way, I recieved my 3rd Dan in Jhoon Rhee martial ballet back in 1992. I was tested by Jhoon Rhee and certifued, know all the forms he invented, and invented one of my own which was a requirement. So I guess you could say, I mastered his style at 3rd dan. Wow is that all he has to teach? Oh yes, then there is that pantheistic moonie garbage. Also a product of fertile imagination. I am ashame to say that I use to actually teach that non sense.
Overall, I think Jhoon Rhee is has a few loose screws upstairs. He had the best TKD taught to him, and then abandoned it for this?? Go figure. Anyway, sorry if I offended anyone, but I would encourage all of you to not waste your years with this. Seek out the real TKD that Jhoon Rhee was given, master it, then decide what want to do. Remeber, you can not turn back the clock, and get the years back.
Lmao I’m testing for second degree and to test, you need to know this. These katas aren’t for ballet, they’re for teaching you the proper moves and stances and techniques to defend yourself. It would take wayyy too long to learn every technique individually. And we still do learn everything Rhee set out to teach
Ok, here is some honest truth, but you may not like it. The JR Institute has some talented practitioners, but that talent was already in them inspite of JR martial arts. It is talent being wasted on this crap. Its not even martial arts, and don't dare call it Taekwon Do. It is nothing more than dancing. And if you go to a dance studio, they will say it is 3rd rate at best. So they should cut to the chase, and decide whether to go into proper Taekwon Do, or dancing.
Thanks for insulting a dead man who worked for his entire life to show the art in martial arts that is why we have musical forms. Also don't call something garbage if it has been taught to multiple congressmen and played at the white house.
Thanks for making these videos. They're really helpful because I don't really practice.

I've used tae kwon do to defend myself before and it worked. Made the kid cry with a simple round kick and he's a tough kid who does jiu-jitsu
