Eggleston is one of those really 'challenging' photographers. On the face of them, such simple images, but scratch the surface and there's so much you can discover. Not that Eggleston himself thinks so, 'they are what they are and nothing more' or words to that effect!
Eggleston's colours are not merely "Kodachrome" straight out of the camera as such. There was a lot of work and artistry put into the printing process as well. I flew from Brisbane to see the NGV exposition, well worth it. Thanks for a great review.
This book has been in my amazon wishlist for most of the summer. Thanks for the flip through. Really love that you do these types of videos. Great preview for potential buyers.
Love Eggelston's work. I have "The Democratic Forest" which is wonderful but now I'll have to get his "Portraits". Thanks Hashem, really enjoying the book reviews!!
Yeah, love that old Kodachrome look. But even Eggleston’s Kodachrome has a different look to the K25 and K64 I shot a lot of in the late 70s and 80s. That old stuff is just beautiful. Great video. Thanks.

Thanks Talya! It's a good one... I think I'm slowly getting hooked on buying photo books 😅
Really great stream, love photo books as well. I’d recommend Fred Herzog “Modern Colour”
Thanks! I've got that one 😁 another great book
