I tried this using the Kicker HS 10 and splicing into the rear speakers as well...had thumps when closing window and turning off the car. In the Tacoma, you get better bass to the sub by splicing off the front door speakers. Cleared up everything and sounds amazing.
@@joshuadorie9198three pro shops in my area all said that is their installation method for a powered sub. They tap in to the front speaker on the same side as the sub placement.

@@92813justin Question for you. On amplifier tuning settings that's on the back of the amp, how did you set it up and how did you set the factory head unit?
No way would I ever cut into the wire loom and splice into the trucks wiring harness, especially not on a newer truck. Sure maybe thats fine on an old beater, but not on a new truck... I just did a similar install on my 2019 Frontier, and I took the time to do it right. I bought the wiring harness connectors and built a plug and play harness that connects between the head unit and the trucks wiring harness for my speaker connections for the amp. Everything is plug and play and I can put it back to completely stock just by unplugging a connector behind the radio, and plugging the radio directly back in to the trucks wiring harness.. Polarity. Negative and positive was likely swapped or they are touching. This will cause a fault to all your speakers and headunit.

No, only if I lay stuff like my tripod against it. But if it's by itself then there is no rattling.

This subwoofer knows when the speakers are off and the sub will turn off a few seconds after.
