Megadeth performs the song "Holy Wars" off of their platinum album "Rust In Peace" live at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, CA during their Rust In Peace tour in 2010. Rust in Peace was very well received by both critics and fans and was responsible for bringing Megadeth to the attention of a mainstream metal audience, and it is considered one of the most influential heavy metal albums of all time. The album was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 33rd Grammy Awards, and "Hangar 18" was nominated for the same award at the 34th Grammy Awards. Allmusic described the record as "easily Megadeth's strongest musical effort", and it was noted as one of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

The only thing this performance was missing was the original kick drum fills that make the song even more dynamic and epic.
This is in the top 3 metal songs of all time. So iconic. Rust In Peace is a masterpiece. Tornado of Souls and Hanger 18 have 2 of the best solos in metal history.
I used to have a band. We played this a lot. It is soooooo hard to play this and sing it at the same time. When people criticize Dave's voice live, it triggers me. Like, "You play a Megadeth song and sing at the same time. Go ahead. I'll wait."
Saw Megadeth in 1991 on the Judas Priest Painkiller tour and they were fkin fantastic.

The best live show I've watched or listened to by them so far was probably from Argentina. It's called "That One Night Live in Buenos Aires" Holy Wars had a special ending. But I'd recommend Hanger 18 and Return to Hanger from that show. Also She Wolf "live from Rude Awakening" is by far the best and most special performance of that song. But the crowd was way into it at those 2 shows. I wish crowds were half as pumped as the ones from South America!
The original video is with Marty Friedman and the beast Nick Menza (R.I.P.) - a way more energy than Broderick and Drower.

The best forever
Megadeth is the band I've seen the most in concert and songs like this are the reason why. I was supposed to see them again a few months ago but I got Covid and was laid out the day of the show. I'm STILL pissed.
The solo is actually Marty Friedman's solo And the solo is so Iconic That every guitar player that joins the band plays the solo note for note ,Not to take away from Chris Broderick but Being a fan of Marty's I felt I had To make a comment

Their official video from 1990 of this song you must watch and listen to, this live version is good but it doesn't hold a candle to the original official video, you'll understand when you watch and hear it, trust me it is a must do situation.

Chingon Megadeth
The singer started the band after being booted from Metallica in their early days for drinking too much. He started Megadeth and he had 2 rule during auditions, you have have to be able to play anything Metallica does and you have to be able to play it better than they do.

Chris Poland is great but he's no Marty Friedman.
I agree and I do like Kiko more also. Kiko is very versatile guitarist. Not meaning to trash Chris since he's great player too.

Its a very good song and good performance. Nice reaction. Sadly, Dave Mustaine is the only original member left in Megadeth. He have changed members very often, so I no longer get the "band" feeling from Megadeth. My favorite lineup is Marty Friedman, Nick Menza, David Ellefson and Dave Mustaine. :)
