- We visit a ‘Potato days’ working demonstration at Norton and take a look at some 4 row harvesters. Potato harvest preparations with sequential haulm flailing and irrigation pipe packing up.
Our Grimme Varitron 270 is also having a service and makeover. The Herbert grader and VHM box handling line put back in position ready for the incoming potatoes.
We putt a Stocks Seeder onto the Sumo Quattro cultivator for seeding the SFI environmental seed mixes and Harry is largely out cultivating between rain showers.
Abbie carts previous seasons spent straw and soil to tip near the soil heap ready for mixing to help make a better soil medium.

I Think there was a Potato Harvesting Demo by Newark Showground in early September 2003. Only one I have ever been at, Very Dry Year & Harvest was finished early enough. Travelled down from Aberdeenshire.
