The teacher being called the goat without realizing that it meant Greatest Of All Time, and the teacher calling them that back???? It was so sweet and wholesome 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

The problem with that is that some parts of the world being known as a goat is a bad thing. It has meant being terrible far longer than greatest of all time.

@ouroborousking8644 That's not a problem, that's just local color. Slang evolves over the years and varies drastically from region to region. Someone else taking offense because they didn't understand what you meant doesn't mean you said something offensive- it's just a minor language barrier, and that can't be helped sometimes.

So, if a person is born sighted, then pose their vision and become blind later in life, do they still 'see' stuff when they dream?

    • @gingerr_rroots

I think that would depend on how long they could see before going blind.
For example, a 10 year old who went blind at the age of 2 will most likely dream in sound, smell, taste and touch more than vision.
Even though they’ve experienced vision, they’ve lived more time without it. So, being blind would be their default.
      I hope this makes sense.

i turn 19 this week and if someone that was the same age as a lot of my professors asked me out i would absolutely feel threatened by it. that first one is absolutely weird.

I do it the other way around. I go to bed between 6 and 7 PM and then wake up around 2 AM. I love my quiet mornings in the darkness where the world is still asleep around me and I sit there alone with my morning coffee, computer and cats.

If people are both over 18, and if they genuinely love each other, none of my business, but... come on, man. This is just not cool.

It's a situation just primed for abuse.

So, I can explain the indoor shoes thing. It's a holdover from rough wood floors which, back in the day, were prone to splintering since they tended to be made by hand. You wouldn't want a splinter in your foot, so you'd wear your shoes inside. They'd sand them down and smooth them, but this was when houses were made by regular folks since most people couldn't afford contractors. The shoes/no shoes divide only can't into effect when carpets became popular, since they were hard to clean and you weren't as likely to get stabbed in the foot walking on them. Now, with lamination and mass production, floors are less prone to those types of issues and shoes aren't as important indoors as they used to be, so the shift is slowly moving to no-shoes.

From an accessibility standpoint I view the one about the Internet being a good thing. Also I like it when a website has a link to like their FB. Because I can find actual opinions on the company, as to the ones that are only positive on the website.

That internal monologue question brings up an interesting point. I am one that would mull over discussions and craft my words before speaking, meaning around some people I never get a chance to speak. I can understand though how the original asker doesn't, they are likely a verbal processor, so they do the same thing but out loud; I know a fellow that is one and apologizes all the time when he feels what he said is not quite appropriate.

It takes a lot more effort for women to build the same amount of strength as a man. When I was in good shape and my bf wasn't, I could stand my ground in a wrestling match with him. However, the second he started working out with me I didn't stand a chance anymore.
Basically, in my best shape I was as strong as my boyfriend who didn't work out at all.

I also don't like wearing shoes or socks in the house. My parents wear their shoes all the time and I don't get it either.

Shoes in the house is fine if you dont step on a carpet, so its best to just take them off if you arent just quickly grabbing something
