Yeah...you can tell Connie Chung knew better. That seemed very much on purpose regarding him being happily married, because it was by his own admission the worse divorce in Hollywood history & everyone knew about it in Hollywood & it was all over the tabloids! Not the first time she stepped in it on purpose...she messed around with the President & Vice President’s wives yrs ago & after that you didn’t see her on tv! But it shows Rick was honest!
I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Gunnar and Matthew after their concert here in upstate NY. They were both so personable, polite, and very down to earth. Even though many stood in line, they did not rush anyone. They posed for photos, signed autographs, answered questions, and asked questions. Their tribute show was excellent, and the tribute song to Rick was exceptional and definitely made me cry. Such professionals and gentlemen. They are welcome here in Oneonta, NY anytime. 👍🙂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙂
I grew up playing his records ( which were my dad's). It wasn't until I grew up then I realised how much I could thank him for. Like the Three stars before him. I hope he knows how much we thank him for.
The Voice, the absolute gentleman. I was hooked on Ricky NELSON from the very first time I heard " Hello, Mary Lou" on the wireless. A musical transformation. Thank you, Sir, for the happy memories of Halcyon Days NEVER to return. 👍🇬🇧❤️❤️🇬🇧
that woman should have done some research before talking to Rick...he was so gracious about it, love him....I could look into his eyes forever....he was gorgeous and had a wonderful style...thank you so much for sharing this ~
Thanks for sharing this. Don't know if you watch American Idol but there is a kid named Sam Wolfe who is a young Ricky Nelson - reminds me so much of him. I grew up listening and watching Ricky Nelson - good memories. Ricky and Elvis - loved them both.
Poor Rick! Was a great polite guest but man what a botched interview!. That woman was useless and Tom just ran through it. Handsome and gracious as Rick was here, which does give something positive to his legacy,- for content I'm glad this thing isn't the only one left behind.
The best interviews are the ones that go wrong the awkward ones, they give so much more insight. Usually they're pre-planned, every question is known beforehand and answers are cleverly worked out to put everything in the best light, but you rarely get anything new out of them. Beforehand it's a case of " you can't ask this, don't ask that, etc etc, I'm here to plug a show or a book otherwise I wouldn't bother, it's all self promotion, all questions asked and answered like an exam test with an old funny story thrown in that's been heard a dozen times before
Har. It's not even like his divorce was a low key news item. It was all over the tabloids when it was drawing out. She not only didn't do her research, she was out of touch with news and pop culture in general. But aww, Rick was really nice about it. And he's so shy in interviews, it's so goddamn endearing.
How the fuck do you interview this cat without smiling till your cheeks twitched? This dude is so cool and experienced with worlds of inside history on his own, nvm what he accomplished along side Elvis Presley. Gone too soon and heavily underrated.
These were really nice words you had to say about Ricky I totally agree I am a total Ricky Nelson fan The only one thing about me I do not like Elvis Presley to me Ricky Nelson will always be number one.
Amazing. Rick Nelson was up all day, did a dozen interviews, and he was polite, polished, and professionals. Tom Snyder and Kaity Tong (that's not Connie Chung) are simply awful.
I'm in total agreement Rick was the class act gentleman who was raised by a very good family you could see the annoyance in his expressions he held calm cool and collected and again a very class act of a gentleman i and a world-renowned iconic performer he is truly missed but the legacy of his music lives on through many generations
@@richardherron7670 I’m wondering if you’re familiar with the Memphis Sessions album. This is supposed to be on it, but I can’t find it. I’m happy to listen on here, just wish I could buy it. If nothing else, I like sharing it with RN fans: ua-cam.com/video/V77qc-77Rkc/v-deo.html There’s another version that I did buy, but only this one has this electric guitar.
@@junior.von.claire the only sessions I know of Rick being on is the class of 1955 but I think you did sessions in Memphis with John fogerty in their late 70s early 80s if I'm not mistaken best of luck on your find
He's livelier here than he was on Dave Letterman or Carson. His normal personality is very low key, as is his humor - quick and dry. Blink and you'll miss it. He seems to have come out of his teen and early 20s when he was in such a spotlight pre-Beatles, and then deal with changing music and times. I just found an LP Rick and Stone Canyon released in 1977, which led me here. Thanks for posting!
Tom Snyder is not bad on his own (sometimes a little clumsy) as an interviewer, but add in Connie Chung ... and your now circling the drain. Rick Nelson was always a good guy ... sad that he was gone two years later.
rick nelson is the legend of music he reminds me like elvis presley the king i think rick nelson is so handsome and omg i love rick nelson he is so handsome than any pop stars
I honestly despised the female one who interviewed Ricky, yet the same time I felt this strong envy in me as I was never able to see him in real life :( Ricky, don't mind the public. The majority is stupid anyway.
I was Ricky Nelson's body guard at West Sacramento Ca. when he arrived for a weekend of performances at a hotel resort in 1974. I was with him the whole weekend for his rehearsals, performances, etc. Nice guy. R.I.P. Ricky
Saw the Letterman interview also- Rick Nelson was not very comfortable with interviews, obviously. Always liked Tom Snyder- he did a much better job with the interview than Letterman,
There is so much disinfo on this. It's said he would never play the Garden again, and that's wrong info. It's said he walked off the stage, but he says he stayed and finished his show.
Rick was such a real doll, and so empathic and kind and caring. Soft spoken and genuine. Loved him. Miss him even to this day. Kaity should have honed up on Rick's personal life! Terrible screw up. Rick took it in stride.. a real professional! 😍🥰💗
I left many notes on traveling man history. His mother had an believable voice. Ozzie was a band leather. He was also a smart business MAN. Just as Desi Arnax/Lucy kept cwetain eights/ so did Ozzie.
Connie Chung is a dope! (sorry, for a moment there I was channeling the young, crew-cut Ricky :). Never seen this interview before, Tom Snyder cracked me up with "you're probably dying to get out of here!"
I feel agitated for Rick because of Connie's constant mention of how "He's happily married," while Kris subjected him to exhausting tours driven by her greed. Rest in peace, sweet man.
I like Connie, but she really blew the statement about Rick being happily married which Rick then had to correct her and say he was divorced. Connie seemed like a plotted plant here not being sure herself why she even came to work that day.
These people who do interviews are awful .Like to hear their own voices .Should let guests talk. They are loud and don`t even know anything about their guest .What idiots to say he`s happily married when he was divorced .Do they not research their guests ?
Hey, here's an idea....ask Rick Nelson a question AND LET HIM ANSWER IT before you idiots start talking & laughing over his response. Shocking that Rick could get in the same room with Connie Chung's & Tom Snyder's egos. Rick was a class act putting up with that idiocy.
What a real gentle person he appears to be. I grew up watching The Nelsons on TV & listening to him sing.
Rick was the real deal !!! very talented and one hell of a musician!!!
Superb - goodbye heart.
Good call...one of the sexiest men...but shy and sweet..no arrogance here. Miss him.

Johnny Cash, Elvis and Ricky Nelson are my top 3 favorite singers.
He was a true talent that grew up in a simpler time. Unfortunately things kind of fell apart for him.

In the Philippines, I was 6 years old! I love ❤️ all his songs
Better looking than elvis and nicer top
