Nothing says Orkz like ending your Advanced Movement Tech video with "And if ya need to go propah fast, just crank da FOV all da groggin way up ya git!"
That and a full description of each vehicle, its abilities, and all that on the intro UI so that we don't have to look it up in game would be amazing. I would love to see some damage, hp, speed , armor bars like old videogames to get an idea of ratings (or simply the numbers lol)
@@dytyzerpud Yeah, like Quake has a “speed rating” you can turn on under crosshair to know how fast you’re going. That would be cool. And just numbers in general would be nice. Also, the ability to add non-damaging bots to the practice arena to practice a sequence like 180 redirect dash, backwards attack then 180 redirect dash again. I wanna get good at some wall dashing shenanigans. Lastly, the ability to wait in queue for games with actual players. Anyone else notice games are just full of bots until a couple games then it’s full of players? Crazy to have a player stats page with wins/losses when usually over 60% of the game isn’t real people. This is terrible design.
I never wanna go up against anyone who can dash in the opposite direction when they land on a vertical wall after doing a bunch of mid-air flips. These Orks is wild.
The car combat genre needs to be revived. With the current trend of multiplayer games being battle royale or PvE coop, this would fit in so right. Twisted Metal needs to make a comeback
It's kind of a niche technique I figured out whilst playing. But if your camera and car faces forward and you drive forward and go top speed with boost and dash. Then wait till the dash ends, do a 180 with your camera and drive backwards and press dash. You're keeping your speed and driving backwards which can catch opponents chasing you by surprise and you getting behind them.
Coming from the Quake games, which I still play, which has a lot of awesome movement (bunny hopping, strafe jumping, crouch sliding and more), movement like this with vehicles makes me excited! Got to go practice!
This game has so much going for it that's not obvious to a new player. I really hope people give this a good go and learn whats possible, game is insanely fun!
Fantastic guide on movement. I was unaware of all of these tricks, and will be practicing them a lot to improve my killiness. edit: Gorkdamn this has massively boosted my kdr.
Hi! Ive been playing around with different vehicles to get a feel for these mechanics and trying to master them. However I've noticed that the movement/steering and momentum play on the Megatrackk Scrapjet seems to be different in comparison to the vehicles you were showcasing in this video. Is this intentional? Is it due to the tracks on the back? id love to understand how to use it to the best of my ability if you (or anyone else) have any guidence.
It doesn't. It was definitely something we considered, but with how broad the color palette is and how many different parts of the vehicle you can color, it would get complicated. Besides, whether accurate or not, player perception of what colors are "BiS" would take a lot of variety out of personalized customization. Another issue is that besides Red being Fasta and Blue being lucky, the whole colors thing isn't very solid in canon and it doesn't cover all colors. Purple is sneaky and White is deadly? Yellow produces better explosions? Green iz best because Orks are green? These things, from what I can tell, are on shaky ground in actual source material. And many would be difficult to translate to meaningful stats in game. Not to mention there's a hundred colors to pick from, including metallic ones.
this stuff needs to be in the game not in a seperate video on youtube. at least provide some links in game for this stuff because after the alpha and beta I'm learning things from this video and I really should have had all that explained to me already somewhere in one of the two test phases.

Hello, this will be the noobest thing ever. I appreciate the verbal description on how to do it and all but can you please put it out in ...say F+D+Shift for the moves?
No, if it does anything it's hard to see a difference in the enemy health bar. I haven't seen anything in game indicating you do damage when you ram someone
i know this was a month ago, but yes you do deal a little bit of damage. Not a whole lot but i've killed people by hitting my dash to ram into them. It's saved me a few times in a tight pinch
why would you want to crank up the camera FOV to "go faster" when it doesn't actually affect your speed at all and will harm your situational awareness?
Hey my guy, if you haven't sorted this out yet- I was having the same issue. Go into steam settings, clear the cache. Then in the steam launch settings for the game- write in the field -dx11 It worked for me as I getting a fatal error every time when I originally installed the game. Hope it helps.
Wow that totally free and open map you're demonstrating on looks real good for practicing the crap you're talking about, sure would be nice if I didn't have to be a dev to access it
The game doesn't have training area yet, but you can just drive to an empty part of the map and practice if you want. If you'd rather not impact your team, just wait till you're in a match where you're winning by a lot
I'm tired of the devs resending to criticism of the movement system with this guide, because it's a shitty guide on how to go fast, and it has nothing to do with the main criticism. One of the main criticism of the movement system is that the system is too fucking slow and I think it's too fucking slow, because boost is a shitty mechanic that slows down the game when it runs out. Some of the devs respond with this guide. The guide doesn't make the problem go away because the problem is that this game is too slow, in both my opinion and the opinion of a lot of other people. This guide tells you to use ramps too keep your speed up while recharging boost. This makes no fucking sense mathematically. What you have to think about is your tangential speed(just forward speed not vertical speed) If you use ramps all the time you are using a little bit of boost on the ramp so your tangential velocity is (tangential_velocity) = (total_velocity) * cos(angle of ramp) while on the ramp if you didn't go on the ramp your tangential velocity would be (tangential_velocity) = (total_velocity) no co sine and depending on the angle your tangential velocity might be lower than if you didn't take the ramp at all and just stop holding down the boost button. The only time I take ramps is if it's at a 10* angle or less. The rest of this guide is just about control not speed, whenever someone complains about speed don't send this guide because it gives bad advice when it comes to speed. Also the illusion at the end doesn't work I can tell that you are not going any faster. The rest of the guide is actually somewhat particle in brawls, and the guide is pretty well made while somewhat inaccurate. But yeah Chris if you see this comment stop sending this guide too people who gave your game a negative review for not being fast enough.
The video doesn't show a good example, but yes generally want to take shallower jumps to go fast. However, dash landing allows you to convert vertical speed into horizontal speed which is covered in this video, so I don't think you're reaching the fastest speeds in this game if you're only using ramps less than a 10 angle. If the game is faster, less people can play it. This is pretty clear looking at the popularity of shooters with a high base speed. The solution is to have a slower base speed and add techniques (like dash landing) or options (like picking the fastest vehicle) you can use to increase your speed for those players who are interested. I'm sorry if it's still not fast enough for you, but for a lot of people it's already too fast to shoot and drive at the same time.
I thought I was not utilizing the vehicles to the max during the playtest, now this video confirms it, I was driving like a grot
Youz ought ta get krumped for that

Do you not know how orks work?
Just use your imagination :p
Red paint makes cars go fast, and the yellow trim lets them brake mid-air.
Simple fiziks.
Yea there shouldn't be breaks at all

You know the game will be ACTUALLY good when the Devs made it because they wanted to play it
Dash landing seems actually really cool, looking forward to try that out 💥
As a Shokkjump Dragsta player, that dash-landing is going to be key in getting me to the next objective or the finish line first.

i thought the last tip would be to paint the vehicles red! 'coz da red wunz go fasta
