When the accusations first came out I cried. Not because I believe it but because of how quick people “canceled her” without evidence. I waited patiently for evidence and I stand by Mel. I’ve loved Mel since 2014 and still do!

I agree with not burning mercy and things, but you should not just blindly believe in your idol. You have very obligation to realize what the stakes are and make your judgment based on objective data and FACTS. I'm happy that you realize that Melanie's story is clearly more believable than Timothy's (with all the inconsistencies and dates, you probably already know) when this information first came out, I hope you were not blindly trusting Melanie. Rape is rape, and it is one of the worst crimes a human can commit; so when someone is accused of that, even just accused, I hope you pull back and become unsure instead of blatantly ignoring the allegations. That aside however, I also hope that you search for evidence and, yet again, FACTS, to come to a clear, cohesive decision on what you will chose to believe. Personally, I believe Melanie over Timothy. Both sides have inconsistencies, but Timothy's story has more inconsistencies than Melanie's. The fact that Mel got famous and Timothy didn't could've sprouted some hate in Timothy's heart against Mel. Timothy also has BPD, which means she can twist reality, and with all these Harvey Weinstein cases and that seed of hate, maybe this is Timothy's truth now because that's the way she has brought herself to see the situation. I feel sorry for both of the girls, as they're both copping loads of hate from everywhere. This is just my opinion and no one has to agree with me, but this is what I believe. The "evidence" is completely debunkable though because victims of trauma are often known to mix up timelines and explain things in the wrong order of occurrence. It's a natural part of the PTSD that comes with being sexually assaulted.

For example that Timothy released a date when it should happend, but this date isn't true! It's proven that Melanie was at an other place at that time. Timothy said that she don't really know anymore when the date was, which sounds not really true in my opinion. And there're more things which seems like she is lying. I’m not saying that Mel’s a rapist because I don’t know but when you get accused of being a rapist, the reactions are gonna be bad from fans and any other people. People will back up the victim because they’re the victim. Yeah... I have absolutely no clue how to feel about this whole situation. It is always my instinct to stand with the victim- always. But it is gray, and when you aren't SURE whether the victim is telling the truth it can be difficult. There is only one factor that has me questioning Timothy's statement, and that is that she could have been using this story to propel her fame. A lot to think about, and I am not 100% discrediting Melanie's side of things, but my heart just can't NOT side with the victim. Because if it is true, the trauma that this poor woman went through and kept to herself for so long is heartbreaking. But you're right, we will never know the entire thing. Very confusing feelings on this case.

Ok so my thing with the Melanie situation is that she and Timothy are both honestly recounting the way they remembered that night. Timothy made a lot of serious claims that Melanie denies, but honestly it's so easy to make allegations like that, because like you said, the whole thing is very grey and none of us will ever know what actually went down. It's a he-said she-said case (except she-said she-said, you know what I mean). Also, I am in no way discrediting Timothy's claim, but I do find it a little strange that she would run to Twitter to make these allegations instead of taking it to court, and that she originally planned for the abuser to stay anonymous but then decided to include Melanie's name at the last minute. But then again, it's also kind of weird that Melanie "had a dream" that inspired her to talk to Timothy again after a year of no contact, just before she found out Timothy was planning on revealing all of this, and then writes a diss track instead of making a solid, clear statement, which I think is a horrible way to handle the situation. Regardless of whether or not Melanie is actually a rapist, I can't support her anymore. The fact that she was involved in this is problematic enough and I can't think of her in the same way anymore. I might be a little biased because Mel was my idol and favorite musician for so long, and I really wish things could just go back to normal, but I kind of think this whole thing is just be a publicity stunt, because they both have new music coming. It's very blurry and upsetting, but my stance will be neutral until there is concrete evidence and I won't support either of them.

To those who believe Timothy, Believe Melanie, because what person would take their time out of their day to write a song related to the "incident"? A regular person would say, "NOT TRUE"! But Melanie wrote a song. A SONG! To prove her former best friend wrong. Kind of strong, don't you think? Edit: I just realized how many times I rhymed in that sentence. LOL
Some facts: Timothy got the dates wrong multiple times, and kept changing her story. Timothy provided a picture of Melanie in handcuffs, when they were playing a board game, that was supposed to be proof that Melanie raped her, but the picture was dated May 6th, which was way before Timothy claimed the rape even happened. She provided it as proof, (even tho it’s just mel smiling in handcuffs that were provided with the board game they were playing) , and said that it happened the day she was raped, when the dates don’t add up. Timothy dressed up as Melanie after the rape supposedly already happened Timothy confused the dates of when they stopped being friends, multiple times. There was a body language video done on Timothy by raegan wolf, and in her opinion, she thinks Timothy is lying. Timothy claims after she posted that she was going to out her rapist, Melanie spammed her and Timothy’s boyfriends phones up with calls and texts. Timothy could have easily taken screenshot of the calls she got from Melanie, and provided it as proof.if there was proof Melanie spammed up Timothy’s phone with calls, would be proof of a frantic attempt on Melanie’s part, to stop Timothy from exposing her. But Timothy provided no such proof. In fact, if Melanie did in fact text Timothy, Timothy could still to this day take screenshots of it and provide them as proof. So even if she was going through too much at the moment, to take a screenshot when Melanie was calling her, she could still take a pic of the texts. Yet she doesn’t. She supposedly as proof right at her fingertips, and yet doesn’t share it. If Melanie was going to lie in her statement, why wouldn’t she just say they didn’t sleep together at all? It would have been much easier for her, and she would have received much less hate. But instead, she chose to tell the truth about them sleeping together, despite the fact that it was more difficult for her. She chose to be honest about them sleeping together. If she’s going to lie about something in her statement, why not lie about everything if it helps you? The fact that she was honest in one part of her statement, makes me believe she was also honest about the fact that she had absolute consent on Timothy’s part. Melanie cut Timothy off in 2016/2015 that could cause anger and resentment in Timothy’s heart towards Melanie, and the fact that they started their careers around the same time, but then Melanie went on to be much more successful, could have added to Timothy’s hatred for her even more Timothy has a disorder that can twist reality. If she doesn’t know what’s real, little details like is she said no, or if she said yes, but then regretted it could get mixed up. Melanie was once asked what she thought of trump in ab interview, she’s very emotional, and almost started crying when talking about it. She talked about being against someone who promotes violence, and you could tell she felt so strongly about it. How can someone feel so strongly about not spreading and promoting violence, then go and commit a huge act of violence to their close friend? Obviously Timothy got a lot of fame from the allegations. That’s true wether she was raped or not. And she knew she would get hype from it. These allegations were released so close to the time when she released her single sleep, and to when Melanie released the mad hatter mv. The timing is definitely odd. Bc not only did she gain a lot of attention to her single, but also took down Melanie in the process. After the allegations were released, everyone was going to Timothy’s Twitter, where her single was pinned, despite the fact that she had just released the allegations. The only thing against Melanie is bad wording and the fact that some of Timothy’s FRIENDS sided with her, and called her manipulative/bossy. To me that’s not proof. There her friends, of course they’d side with her. But Timothy, has so much stacked against her. False accusations do happen, even if it’s rare. And if you just simply look at the FACTS, it should be clear whose got the most going against them. I would not choose to stand by mel, if I didn’t think she was being honest.

Yeah... I have absolutely no clue how to feel about this whole situation. It is always my instinct to stand with the victim- always. But it is gray, and when you aren't SURE whether the victim is telling the truth it can be difficult. There is only one factor that has me questioning Timothy's statement, and that is that she could have been using this story to propel her fame.
A lot to think about, and I am not 100% discrediting Melanie's side of things, but my heart just can't NOT side with the victim. Because if it is true, the trauma that this poor woman went through and kept to herself for so long is heartbreaking. But you're right, we will never know the entire thing.

Ok so my thing with the Melanie situation is that she and Timothy are both honestly recounting the way they remembered that night. Timothy made a lot of serious claims that Melanie denies, but honestly it's so easy to make allegations like that, because like you said, the whole thing is very grey and none of us will ever know what actually went down. It's a he-said she-said case (except she-said she-said, you know what I mean). Also, I am in no way discrediting Timothy's claim, but I do find it a little strange that she would run to Twitter to make these allegations instead of taking it to court, and that she originally planned for the abuser to stay anonymous but then decided to include Melanie's name at the last minute. But then again, it's also kind of weird that Melanie "had a dream" that inspired her to talk to Timothy again after a year of no contact, just before she found out Timothy was planning on revealing all of this, and then writes a diss track instead of making a solid, clear statement, which I think is a horrible way to handle the situation. Regardless of whether or not Melanie is actually a rapist, I can't support her anymore. The fact that she was involved in this is problematic enough and I can't think of her in the same way anymore. I might be a little biased because Mel was my idol and favorite musician for so long, and I really wish things could just go back to normal, but I kind of think this whole thing is just be a publicity stunt, because they both have new music coming. It's very blurry and upsetting, but my stance will be neutral until there is concrete evidence and I won't support either of them.

Believe Melanie, because what person would take their time out of their day to write a song related to the "incident"? A regular person would say, "NOT TRUE"! But Melanie wrote a song. A SONG! To prove her former best friend wrong. Kind of strong, don't you think?

Some facts:
Timothy got the dates wrong multiple times, and kept changing her story.
Timothy provided a picture of Melanie in handcuffs, when they were playing a board game, that was supposed to be proof that Melanie raped her, but the picture was dated May 6th, which was way before Timothy claimed the rape even happened. She provided it as proof, (even tho it’s just mel smiling in handcuffs that were provided with the board game they were playing) , and said that it happened the day she was raped, when the dates don’t add up.

Timothy confused the dates of when they stopped being friends, multiple times.
There was a body language video done on Timothy by raegan wolf, and in her opinion, she thinks Timothy is lying.
Timothy claims after she posted that she was going to out her rapist, Melanie spammed her and Timothy’s boyfriends phones up with calls and texts. Timothy could have easily taken screenshot of the calls she got from Melanie, and provided it as proof.if there was proof Melanie spammed up Timothy’s phone with calls, would be proof of a frantic attempt on Melanie’s part, to stop Timothy from exposing her. But Timothy provided no such proof. In fact, if Melanie did in fact text Timothy, Timothy could still to this day take screenshots of it and provide them as proof. So even if she was going through too much at the moment, to take a screenshot when Melanie was calling her, she could still take a pic of the texts. Yet she doesn’t. She supposedly as proof right at her fingertips, and yet doesn’t share it.
If Melanie was going to lie in her statement, why wouldn’t she just say they didn’t sleep together at all? It would have been much easier for her, and she would have received much less hate. But instead, she chose to tell the truth about them sleeping together, despite the fact that it was more difficult for her. She chose to be honest about them sleeping together. If she’s going to lie about something in her statement, why not lie about everything if it helps you? The fact that she was honest in one part of her statement, makes me believe she was also honest about the fact that she had absolute consent on Timothy’s part.
Melanie cut Timothy off in 2016/2015 that could cause anger and resentment in Timothy’s heart towards Melanie, and the fact that they started their careers around the same time, but then Melanie went on to be much more successful, could have added to Timothy’s hatred for her even more
Timothy has a disorder that can twist reality. If she doesn’t know what’s real, little details like is she said no, or if she said yes, but then regretted it could get mixed up.
Melanie was once asked what she thought of trump in ab interview, she’s very emotional, and almost started crying when talking about it. She talked about being against someone who promotes violence, and you could tell she felt so strongly about it. How can someone feel so strongly about not spreading and promoting violence, then go and commit a huge act of violence to their close friend?
Obviously Timothy got a lot of fame from the allegations. That’s true wether she was raped or not. And she knew she would get hype from it. These allegations were released so close to the time when she released her single sleep, and to when Melanie released the mad hatter mv. The timing is definitely odd. Bc not only did she gain a lot of attention to her single, but also took down Melanie in the process. After the allegations were released, everyone was going to Timothy’s Twitter, where her single was pinned, despite the fact that she had just released the allegations.
The only thing against Melanie is bad wording and the fact that some of Timothy’s FRIENDS sided with her, and called her manipulative/bossy. To me that’s not proof. There her friends, of course they’d side with her. But Timothy, has so much stacked against her. False accusations do happen, even if it’s rare. And if you just simply look at the FACTS, it should be clear whose got the most going against them. I would not choose to stand by mel, if I didn’t think she was being honest.
