Yeah, it's a huge problem. I had an assignment where I had to write about the pros and cons of today's technology. I wrote about deepfakes and how AI could in the future take peoples jobs (UA-camrs, artists...)
this is why visible dislikes count are important, youtube making the most stupid decision most of the time. i know there's a plugin making it visible again but for people who're not aware of it, will just fall victim to those kind of contents.

Definitely stay away from my stuff then. I go over the top with AI. But I do it on purpose, and I always mention which videos are done with AI. But yes I also skip videos the moment I see stupid subtitles with robot voices.
That’s why UA-camrs have to stage public pranks, with paid actors or they’ll get in trouble for harassment or worse like Sam Pepper. The only pranks that are acceptable are on your friends. Better to stage a prank and follow the law rather than prank some helpless victim and get in trouble with the law.
Of course it's subjective, but I find pranks to be generally wrong if they hurt physically or psychically another being. Even if temporary, effect of being victim might show up later. As most pranks are about making fun of other people or animals in bully fashion, I dislike this genre. Childish, entitled, dangerous, antisocial. Fuck em. BUT if I'd know for sure they are actors, it wouldn't be less funny, but morally watchable.
If you're gonna fake a YT video I'd definitely prefer it be prank videos rather than something of substance. I don't see anything wrong with that being fake at all. It doesn't meaningfully change the content aside from the fact that nobody is hurt.
This has been an issue from day one. UA-cam is actually the only platform that gives creators a chance though as we have access to copyright match tools. TikTok,FB,IG etc are absolutely useless. They don't care and just allow blatant theft. You'd think by now they would have it sorted but they don't care, it's a wild wild west. I am of the same opinion. Perhaps someone aspires to one day own a actual designer brand item, but could only afford a rep for now, so what's the harm making a cheaper purchase that can make you feel a little good about yourself, confident, and happy? Also, her style and fashion sense was still very nice and clean even if the items weren't the actual brands.

@@Asad-the-One That and there's no energy in Mr. Beast's dialog, something that is unnatural for him as when he's speaking on camera it's always him emoting to a high degree. How about the "Throwing the baby over the balcony prank" "We forgot the baby prank" "The baby drowned prank" and don't forget the ones where the prank consists of one spouse tricking the other spouse that "I k*ll3d someone" or "someone k1ll3d me" using fake blood and cheesy party gag props.
I can't see how people actually believe that crap is real. Whenever the people get mad & attack the pranksters the fights look faker than wrestling. No one ever throws a real punch or connects.
I've noticed a lot of AI generated "true" crime videos and channels popping up in the last few weeks. In one day, I came across 2 different videos where a grandma was having an incestuous relationship with seemingly every member of her family that led to her murder. There were a few comments under the vid questioning the truthfulness of the story and had searched google and found no info on the case being discussed. An overwhelming amount of people were talking about how disgusting the grandmother was and how could she have gotten away with this for so long. Ahh! None of these people exist! But now that I'm sitting here really thinking about it, I wonder if the comments made by people believing the story were even real people. Now if I click on a vid and the voice is AI I leave immediately.
Yet 90% of the population is incapable of doing that quick single search that you did. Most stuff can be proven as fake just with a little bit of digging and trying to prove facts. I just read a study where they showed over 3,000 students a variety of videos and literally three students, 3!!!, went to the true source to see that it was fake!
People who lie about their health make it harder for people like me to get help. I can't imagine why people fake mental or physical illness like its hell.
@@shevystudio maybe. I used to enjoy Mr beast videos till people pointed out discrepancies that make it obvious stuff has been faked. I'm not sure how reality shows are doing these days but I think more people know they are fake. I think there will be a swing to valuing genuine content even if it is a small swing. I think most of the fake stuff appeals to kids anyways.
The younger generation is the issue, they see no problem with any of it and if you try to reason with them and explain it you get a generic response from them. "Who cares" or "cry more" or something along those lines. It's the same with plagiarism, the younger generation simply doesn't care about it, they just think if the plagiarized content gets more views, it's simply done better.
Should have touched on fake animal rescue videos. I've read an article where people are putting animals in danger just to get likes, views and praise from people on UA-cam. It's disgusting.
Putting animals in danger is bad enough. BUT when you seek validation for being a "Good and caring person" from YT strangers, now you need professional help.
And they get even worse. I seen this video where one of baby animals is dressed in human baby clothes and tortured mercilessly by another bigger baby animal. The best defense is to report the channel and tell yt that these are all disgusting videos and to please stop allowing this type of content filth to be played. ALL OF IT SGOULD BE BANNED
We need to be able to see dislikes again. I can usually tell if a video is deepfake or AI reading a wiki page, or just straight up hallucinating info, but my parents can't. We need a quality indicator.
Totally. And it will only get worse, as the technology gets better at mimicking the sound of real voices, especially since the real voices of some voiceover actors don't sound at all like normal speaking voices in the first place. I have a lot of trouble distinguishing real voices from AI voices, especially when the voice has a non-American accent. If I heard a distinctive voice like Casey Casum's voice is distinctive on a UA-cam video, I would suspect it was fake.
As a new content creator, I can tell you that dislikes are really just crazy sometimes. It could be the most untriggering video, and people will still dislike it. Some people dislike it cause they don't like those type of videos. Not because of the video itself
The Moana 2 trailers where they made her pregnant/have a baby or just straight up gave her a pornstar body made me pledge to never look up a trailer on here again.
Not all AI use is bad or dumb, though. I'm making historical videos about philosophers, and the only way to make a video about an ancient Greek philosopher is with AI generated images. There just are no pictures of Socrates teaching in ancient Athens, so both my videos and thumbnails have to use AI images. Of course, the video is still written and narrated by me, but the visuals have to be AI.
Just know that we are still in the post era of youtube where the old youtube died years ago in 2017 when the people in charge of youtube and that pos ceo at the time decided to go around and fck with people by demonitizing some of their videos and they also gave other whiny youtubers the ability to use the copy right strike system to go around and copy right strike people for reacting to their content. Do you mean remove the button or remove the count on how many times the dislike button has been pushed? I’m just curious. Because I can obviously see the dislike button !

In Germany, those prank videos experienced a big hype while I was in secondary school. As somebody who has experienced severe teasing throughout this time I always find those videos disgusting. Making fun of other people, potentionally harming them and making money this way disgusts me. When those videos are scripted and faked they become a cheap cash-grap which not better at all.
Yeah, too many prank videos are just encouraging people to be predatory, and kids are the main target audience. Many pranks are actually crimes, and I think there should be zero-tolerance enforcement of the relevant laws when someone is harassing people for fun, or for clicks.
What I hate most in fake content is these people who pretend to have physical or mental illness for clout. Especially since it makes it harder for people who actually have the issue to get treatment, and sometimes the way they pretend their fake illness is misleading or even insulting.
I didn't have a problem with AI, as long as you say it was made with it. They are cool to watch at that point. There needs to be a law that you have to state that is AI!
something ive found pretty disgusting lately is crime channels using AI for their thumbnails, when the cases in the videos are about child a*use or something. its honesty horrific and a lot of channels need to be terminated for farming subscribers

Im a real person who has sickle cell anemia and seeing people lie about having it is sick, this illness is no joke, just pain and agony most of the time so I can’t imagine faking such a terrible illness Edit: FYI 80%-90% of people that have sickle cell anemia are black, there’s a very small chance that someone any other ethnicity could have sickle cell. Also you can’t just develop sickle cell, you’d have to be born and diagnosed with it. I’ve been struggling with this illness for my whole life but soon there will be a cure.
Wait they're close to finding a cure???? That's amazing! We learnt about sickle cell anaemia in bio and nursing school and it really is a horrible condition. I wonder if it's similar enough to Thalassemia and a cure is on the horizon for that too. My family is Greek and Thalassemia got its name from the Greek word for "sea" as Thalassemia is mostly found in Greece and other Mediterranean countries. I'm lucky that my parents don't have the gene or condition so my brother and I are safe but I do have relatives with it and like Sickle Cell anaemia, the life expectancy isn't long even with management. I really hope the cure for Sickle Cell is found and released soon!

If content is deemed as misinformation by the algorithm, it can not be monetized and will be taken down. If you report a video, youtube will review the video first because a lot of people can report maliciously.
Here's where I would draw to line. Faking an illness, faking an injury, faking assault and faking valor, would be over the line because it would take attention away from the ones that do. Faking a prank with actors may be better when more people are armed.
"Written and read by bots, created by probably nefarious individuals, for monetary gain alone." The way he says this with his accent is just hilarious.

I used COPYSCAPE on my websites to protect my 'written' content from others "copy and pasting" as their own ... should be something similar that can detect copied video content
I think it would be forgivable if they have permission to do it or just copy but half of it is made by themselves and didn't copy the thumbnail or name, but copying a video, like straight up stealing is wrong
Don’t forget about those “Police body cam footage” videos with those thumbnails where they just change the color of some guy’s shirt. I even think some of use ai voices too.

Man I was a huge fan in my teens, it was the only prank TV show I enjoyed and I never enjoyed UA-cam pranks. I watched the British and American ones. It doesn't surprise me to hear it's fake though. At least their "pranks" weren't extremely harmful to people and they didn't harass their "victims" the way these UA-camrs do. And them genuinely being friends made for an entertaining dynamic to watch, something that prank UA-camrs didn't have. Edit: I took a quick look into it and it's not completely staged. Some clever editing which teenage me already knew was a thing and the punishments are obviously planned but not everything they do is staged. Besides, they only unblur faces of people they interact with and even then not all of them so if you know anything about the process of filming shows or movies, then it's obvious that after the prank, the production team is going to those people, explaining what's happening and asking for their consent to show their face on TV. Even the cast of a show or movie sign these consent forms, at least that's how it works in my country.
@@michaelbyrd2460 I like how you rebut someone who just says incorrect but not the person who not only looked into whether or not it's staged but also studied film and knows the process of filming in public, gaining all the legan consent and whatnot so it can be aired on TV without facing privacy lawsuits and that it shows with how the overall crowd has blurred faces and some of the people they interact with have blurred faces but not all. I cannot stand fake prank videos, especially those obvious ones where couples prank each other.
They’re always so cruel too! Accusing the other of cheating or telling them they’re cheating, like what a great way to destroy a relationship.
Yes. Fake voice and I stop.

Yet 90% of the population is incapable of doing that quick single search that you did. Most stuff can be proven as fake just with a little bit of digging and trying to prove facts. Worst part of those fakes is that you click on some interestingly looking topic and then find yourself hooked on some psychological tricks, just waiting for the plot to develop or mystery being revealed, while all you get is bland nonsensical AI's trip
14:15 I don't understand why she would lie.. tell your story!! I am literally 1 hour away from having 5 years sober!! I was arrested many times in my life.. I went to prison in 2019 and found out I was pregnant. Been sober ever since. I cannot imagine lying about my life...
Hey! Congrats on five years, good job! 🙌🤘🖤
15:00 this really hurts bc i had a very good friend of my family pass to sickle cell and i attended her funeral today.
It makes me wish that plastic surgery wasn't so taboo. And it also makes me wish that sickle cell wasn't used. It's insensitive.
There was a malaria outbreak in Brazil about 10 years ago in a refugee camp. The people who didn't get it all had Sickle Cell anemia. 25% of the people who got malaria died.
@@Truth_Teller_101what does that have to do with their friend dying...?
That's me just sitting down to this. Looks like another smasher of a video, let's do this. I really enjoyed your virtual reality vr chat deep dive, one of my favoured videos of yours
Something with impractical jokers. They hired actors too. The made a 2 minute video saying they did, but made it look like they were bullshitting. Impractical jokers were all faked.
This is absolutely incorrect.
Absolutely correct, but you can believe whatever you think is true. @Kitteso
It's like you just read the first sentence of my comment 🤔
I think it was real originally until they became too famous. When that happened they stopped doing public pranks
Dont forget the fake casino coin pusher videos, the machine is in a garage, fake background audio plus a 50 million dollar buy-in with fake gold and stacks of movie cash & $25000 chips while Podunk Charlie gives you a play-by-play narration.. Sad.
My granny and my ma told me " Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see " Still even more true today then way back when.
I couldnt help but notice @Theoxxh 's comment at 7:00 and a huge wave of nostalgia came over me as i used to watch her a lot as a kid
Who cares if somebody wore knock off clothes? That seems pretty ridiculous
counterfeiting is a crime, and so is knowingly buying them
I care. It devastates me when I learn that some lady was carrying a fake Gucci bag.
We've become so caught up in other peoples drama and bullshit. Do we need influencers to tell us what clothes to wear or food to eat?

UA-cam videos being faked for clout and attention is the modus operandi at the core of being a content creator these days. I recently had the opportunity to be part of a Dude Perfect video. It was a very, very eye opening experience. Needless to say, I don’t watch their videos anymore after being a dedicated subscriber since 2016. The true crime section of UA-cam is just as bad. An endless sea of the same 30-50 cases being mulled over time and time again using scripts generated and read by soulless AI’s. It’s a wild time to be alive.
