Just absolutely finely crafted drums that are very well thought out. Even to the extent of easily adjustable bands so if you are in changing climates they can cope with the effect on the wood shell. Moreover the hardware is slightly heavier and better then even my heirloom S.O.S. drums. Sound is excellent in ash with projection and nice slaps but still organic. No these are not steam bend staves which is part of what makes SOS so legendary but Moperc wood and build is excellent. I have absolutely no vested interest here. Saw LMDM at Lincoln Center in the 90's they too of course deserve the legendary status and respect of the ages...
