My first MLB game and I couldn’t have had a better first game. 14-2 2 grand slams, what a night. I’ll never forget. Go Bucs!

I'd love it if Skenes had a chance to talk to Nolan Ryan. To hear Nolan talk about pitching a 13 inning game, and throwing over 200 pitches. These guys today are good, but not like the men of old.
@lilorange3647 he's on a count. He's still throwing 100 pitches. After he develops his man strength, they'll let him go to 110-120. He'll get am extra inning here and there.
@@sonsofliberty3081 sure. Even with his k/9 he could consistently go 8 by working on efficiency alone. JV was good for 130 anyday but no manager will allow that today. Just with him hitting 102, high draft pick and the k/9 I always think about JV. Then again I wasn’t around much for the Johnson era. Plus JV didn’t have that devastating splinker or whatever you call it 🤯🤯

Paul Skenes is not only All-Star caliber already at 22 years old, there is a serious case to be made that he should start the game for the NL. That right arm was an absolute god send for the Bucs.

Pirates should offer Skenes 8 years, $200 million right now.
Until they get a new owner that wants to invest in a good team, the Pirates will still be a farm team for the foreseeable future. The only way they'll ever win is if their mix of bright young talent (pre-payday) and journeyman veterans ever hit on all cylinders at the same time. Pittsburgh really deserves a good owner for their storied baseball team. It's a real shame.

2:33 if Skenes pitches more outside the zone more to get hitters to chase he’ll be EVEN MORE deadly. even Skenes himself shakes his head in frustration at times because he knows he can execute better. he wants to strike everyone out in 3 pitches because he knows his command + velo combo is so good. the batters know this already so the come swinging and odds are they’ll land a contact. in this clip, he throws the high strike too much in the zone the batter is already in a 0-2 count.
Wow. Buccos hitting homers like crazy. Odd to see but I’ll definitely take it. Keep battling Bu s! Reynolds and Telez have been top hitters since the start of June. I think B Ren simply is playing to his ability right now, and I think he can continue to do so. Telez is just plain hot and is seeing the ball well. I hope it lasts, but I don’t fully expect it to. 🏴☠️
