Another great video, I am finding these Bulgarian themed productions fascinating, thanks for taking the time to do this. I wasn’t sure you were going to cross that river though 😂😂👍👍
If people don't want to be told there's nothing you can do for them. If I were to move abroad I'd rent somewhere in the area I was interested in. See how cold the winter is and how hot the summer is. It's all very well going to a place for a 1 or 2 week holiday but in reality that's not long enough to learn about an area.
In 2019 I saw a property on eBay on pay monthly. stupid and naive. Paid the deposit and a couple of months payments. The house was “move in condition “. I flew over, hired a car and went to a village near gorsko Kosovo and the dam. Although I’d pod to have garden cleared I arrived to a jungle with a house which had holes in the ceilings, no electricity although I was assured it would be sorted and was no where near move in condition. A kind English lady from the village and a local lady helped translate and even found me a nights accommodation. I handed the keys back, blew my budget on hotels and had a lovely holiday instead. The isolated village with one shop, one road was closed as it had literally collapsed into the valley. I will come back but will buy when in the country, your videos are an honest expose to help dreamers like myself that it’s not as easy as the house adverts and nothing should be taken for granted. Thank you
It’s incredibly beautiful. The reason why everyone moved away is because their country no longer represents their people. This is the definition of Globalization. I live in the states and looking for a place to live. I need a place a little more modern. 😜😜Old School, please keep the vids coming. 👍👍
Wow it looks like estate agents world is a mine field it is lovely to come across such an honest man like you saying valuable things that no one talks about openly, got a friend who got scammed by a recommended estate agent online ,he agreed to pay a 7000 euros for the property he signed the deed in October without lawyer as the agent said to him you don t need one the notary will check everything , thinking the agent is a trustworthy ended up paying 7000 leva and the rest of the money taken by the agent and kept delaying the copy of the deed translated into English till the 10 days elapsed where he lost the right to claim his money back or any other problem arise. still he does not know what to do as he is in England ,he would be grateful if you have any advice for him as I would like to help him too. Thank you much for the efforts and time to make such a great video.
Unless your friend had a signed agreement with the agent for services he would provide to assist with the sale I doubt your friend will be able to do anything. Unfortunately this can and does happen in Bulgaria. He could try contacting a lawyer but needs to be careful of costs involved. Might be worth contacting the British Embassy in Sofia for advice.
@@iantoy7778 Thank you so much for your reply ,the funny thing is the agent is an English lady you would not expect your fellow countrywoman doing such a thing ,I think it would be interesting to see what the British Embassy could do since she is known to them, I will try to pass on the info to my friend and keep you posted if we could at least warn and help others. many thanks
A post apocalyptic landscape ! Desolation , but also an opportunity for those prepared to take it on . Your average suburban Brit would have to adapt pretty quick to survive . It's not Milton Keynes . To buy sight unseen is pure folly , why do they do it ?
Remember it was the Brits who colonised half the world. When they arrived in Australia and the US from London- then the largest city in the world- there was nothing also.
Well one you guys, yes seen it all from when we lived in northern Spain, our village 22 people, no shop or bar, but further up the mountains nowt and same thing was happening people trying to rip others off, we advised many but some still did it and lasted two years and well the houses are still there now empty, thanks again
Another great video .. I will soon need to pick your brains .. what monthly income would be comfortable.. in pounds ?? What the closet Airport .. ok time for a coffee .. enjoy one in me .
The name of the vill is not what you think And it's not rat but 'middle rŭt'.. I would translated it literally to something like - middle steep short hill /probably there are (or there where) low and high version of the vill around/ .. The new tires are getting to work in this place 😁 I love exploring this kind of vills around on my bicycles, there is more time to see things due to the lower speed of travel. But being in Sofia, the vills around are mostly ok because people use them as getaway from the city but 50km radius is the point that things get worse but also cheap.
It's absolutely crazy & extremely naive that anyone would & does buy property anywhere in the world, without actually visiting said country & area for a time, to be able to make an informed decision. Those that do & will continue to do, can't be helped, they have zero common sense. Such types go through life making mistake after mistake. Good video Ian.
So I wonder what the history is of all these derelict villages. They won't of been built in the middle of nowhere for nothing, something must of been there to sustain them. What's changed in say the last 1-200 years? They can't all of been farmers and fishermen
I am sure there is also gold in this river, bulgaria have the biggest gold deposites in europe estimated to be for trillion dollars, but not all are economicly good for working, also we have the biggest ammount of mineral springs in continental europe, only iceland has more, but the highest geizer is here 18 meters high and it is also the hottest 103 degrees celsius
To be honest you can lead a horse to water as the old saying says. It is possible to research an area village etc in Bulgaria but usually if you search in English you get nothing. So your words are wise if idiots take it the wrong way their loss. As I said before it took me almost nine months of continual searching to find my house. Saw many. Even here was a compromise. Big budget no problem but I was like a lot minimum budget. However we’re very happy. I also took advice from many especially Bulgarians in the area. They know the good and bad villages. Good video I’m sure it’s helped
Living off the grid is what it would be called on the USA and people do it in Alaska I don’t get it and I certainly wouldn’t buy property unseen. Such a scam going on over there feel sorry for those that fall for it - in your own way you are helping Great ride by the way and I was a little concerned for you after you just had health issues Thanks for the take along and Regards from Florida 🦩🦩🦩

Good advice

Probably the river, every thing revolves around water.
You don't have to go to Bulgaria you can find much the same in Portugal.

Really good balance on the river crossings.
