If your having the power save issue I think the fix is to use a hdmi to dvi cable. Not the hdmi plugged into dvi adapter at monitor. Might want to give this a try, the adapter may cause a slight signal loss causing the momentary power save.
Hopefully Arcade1Up will consider a larger stock screen for the next cabinet. I can handle the 17 inch monitors for most of their cabinets but these really need to be 20+. @@cooltoy This mod is a great idea ... and I bought everything to do it based on this video... (2x on the LVDS boards: 1 - 1.5 and 1 LVDS2 board). The 1.5 was useless. The LVDS2 board works but has signal drop, usually when switching scenes. Geekworm is blaming the PCB and yet everyone's experience seems to be just a bit different with the common denominator being picture loss. Might be time to update the video title with a "YMMV". I have one more LVDS2 board to try but I'm not holding my breath.
Love it but $151 us for a bezel and a wood mount, Crazy.
Someday i will do this
Go for it!
I tried this mod, any idea as to what would cause the dell monitor to go in and out of power save mode? I tired connecting to a Samsung tv and had no issues.
Crap. Just did my mod today and instantly noticed that happening.
I bought a few cables and adapters to troubleshoot, I'll keep you guys posted on my findings.
Are there any modern monitors that work and have proper aspect ratio?
You all finding 20” to be significant upgrade over the 17”?
Does power switch turn everything on and off like stock setup?
For me yes, the stock set up will turn the monitor on. My problem is that it will power save on and off constantly.
Let us know when you figure out what the problem is
I got everything hooked up, then my dell monitor kept going into “power save mode”. Any suggestions?
Try grounding the arcade1up pcb. I just used a button wire
Where did you ground it to. Do you have a picture?
@@jeffkamensky8369 I haven’t completely finished it since my family took me away from it, but I just used an encoder wire to ground it. Stripped one end to expose the wire and screwed that to the corner of the board while its still sitting in the original housing. Then I took the end with the metal crimp that would normally go on the button and literally screwed through it onto one of the metal housing holes. Played an entire round and bonus and no in and out. Going to play more when I get home and if it’s good, I’ll install the dell permanently.
Thank you!
Any update?
Looks great, such an expensive kit though. $120ish for it with the graphics before the monitor. Yikes
Anyone else having the “power save mode” issue with the dell 20” monitor? Please help.
Yep.. same issue, did you get it figured out?
@@patw889 no I haven’t had time to mess with it. I’m going to open it up and see if the monitor has a power save on/off option.
If you have any luck please let me know.
You don't have the cable pushed down far enough on the pin connectors.
I'm old enough probably to be your Dad. Thanks Son! :) ;)
🤣
Awesome vid, however I am having some issues w this mod
Got everything set up and am getting an error message on the monitor that reads "no DVI-D, entering sleep mode"
I have the geekworm converter and an HDMI to DVI adapter cable.
What do you suppose I am missing??
Nice Mod, but 15 minutes? Lol, that would take me a couple hours.
You’re father is lucky like me with my sons 😊
Clean
