Another excellent video,. My grandson wants an action camera, so I've been looking around for something that's really good but won't cause me to go bankrupt ha ha. He wants to be a filmmaker but also does a lot of stuff with his dirt bike and said he could use one for both. I watched a few about the new action 5, but seen rumors about a ace pro two possibly coming out and also watched some hero 13 reviews. What would you recommend for something like that? Thanks as always as you're one of the few youtubers channels that responds to my questions.
Well that's nice of you and great to hear your grandson wants to start making video, it's really never too late. For "me" I would pass on the Hero 13 and consider the Hero 11 is you're really leaning towards a GoPro, otherwise the DJI Action 4 is a solid choice especially now that there has been a price drop. My Action 5 Pro will be here soon and will test it to see if it's really "WORTH" the upgrade from the Action 4 overall considering the price difference. Regarding the Insta360 Ace Pro 2, I don't know much about it, but considering they've added some major improvements over the Ace Pro I think it will be priced a bit higher than the Action 5 Pro, but only time will tell. I appreciate your kind words and I always try to get to everyone's comments asap.
Thank you for this info! I just now heard about this lens. I was wanting the 40mm sony lens, but after the 24mm 2.8 sony lens, it was just a lot $$$. This is perfectly within the budget.
Nice, thanks for this video. This might replace the 35mm Sony 1.8 I sold because of strong CA, it does seem more controlled on this one and image looks great overall.
@@WORTHITORNOT Yeah enjoying the first cooldown, the steam furnace is taking a break 🤣 Busy days recently, I officiated as sound engineer for a two day opening event for a culture and arts center with two stages and lots of running between them, and then 4 days Oktoberfest in two bands on drums as well as providing sound, setup and teardown. Weekend starts today 😅 That lens does look real nice, and you look in good shape. How are you doing over there?
@@StirfriedGerman We’re doing great, our youngest keeps us super busy with Honors band (1st chair flute) Volleyball school and club and Basketball. Weather has finally today gotten normal, in the 80’s during the day and 60’s at night= finally lol. I’m doing good, finally decided to get back into shape and drop some weight. Otherwise, all good here.
@@WORTHITORNOT I have to follow your lead, I lost 40 pounds in July but stalled, have to get back on track 😅 Oktoberfest didn't help, especially with made in Germany beer free-flow. My kids are back in school since September 1 so it's a bit more peaceful here now.
@@StirfriedGerman Ahh Oktoberfest, since I was born in Germany (Neuss) and my mother being German and father from Belgium, we were raised on good tasting food !
Thank you for the video, affordable and very good lens! I saw that you are using the Sony a7iv, it would be very interesting if you could make a video (unless you have and I didn't see it..) with the settings for the best performance of the camera!
Great review. What Focal length lens do you most prefer? and what would you suggest if you had to pick maybe your top 2 or 3 focal lengths? Thanks buddy
Thanks, Errr, that's a tough question, it would be hard to narrow it down to 2 or 3, I like the look of 18mm Full frame for wide shots, 35mm FE and of course the Nifty 50mm FE and a 85mm FE would round out the most used for me, depending on what the scene requires. Hope that helps
I just picked up a gently used Sony A7S3 yesterday and want to use it for some Real-estate videos, Would you recommend a zoom lens or a fixed lens, also what's a good wide lens to use for that type of use? Also would you recommend shooting in SLOG-3 or just normal? Sorry for all the questions
Well 1st off, Congrat's on the Sony A7SIII, it's a FANTASTIC camera that is still so powerful even in 2024. I use either the Viltrox 20mm, 18mm f/2.8 from Samyang and for those REALLY wide shots, the 9mm no distortion lens from Laowa. Don't forget to get a good gimbal as you'll need smooth shots and for me, yes, I shot realestate videos in SLOG-3 10 bit with it "slightly" overexposed then convert it back to REC709 and color grading. I try to answer as many questions as I can, sometimes I get a bit behind but I do eventually catch up. Hope this helps !
Viltrox is making a lot of great budget minded lenses that perform really well for the price. The photos look great as well as video. I heard some noise during your autofocus test, was that you or the lens? Off topic, which Sony camera that you have get's the most use?
Yes Viltrox has come a long way and make some really good camera lenses for sure. The noise you heard is my shoes when I was attempting to slide to the left and then to the right. My most used Sony camera is my A7SIII, total workhorse
Haha, yeah I've beaten the stitches out of that speed bag. Yes she has grown up so much over the past year it's crazy and yes, remember, I live in Texas and have a full arsenal 😎

I don’t know anything about cameras or lenses but it’s amazing how much your daughter has grown and so beautiful young lady she’s turned into.
Yes time flys by so fast now, thank goodness she looks like her mom
Another great review Andre. I saw you’re getting the Action 5 Pro, looking forward to that review
@@ruffustibs3740 Yes this is a great lens and Action 5 Pro very soon
Excellent lens for the money, thanks for the review.

i may get this to replace my samyang 35mm 2.8. the out of focus rendering on this lens is very clean in my opinion

Would this be good on the Sony ZVE-10?

Not me skipping the title name because you just dropped a new video and I thought it was about a 168$ full frame 💀 I WISH IT WAS
