Great video, perfectly capturing all the Holiday wonders of Longwood Gardens. Each tree is more beautiful than the last: it's Impossible to pick a favorite, though that massive rotating tree with the red and green theme (keeping with traditions is always a winner in my book) wins based alone on its sheer size; however, any tree with the word "champagne" in its descriptor gets an honorable mention and a nod from me. Nonetheless, the magnolia tree shaped like a Christmas tree with simple white lights at 16:49 is inspired simplistic perfection. The bulbs, lights and baubles are keeping with the times (speaking from experience). Well done Longwood on the authentic "retro" Christmas. Thanks, as always, for all the JLew tips, and it looks like you made a day of it - and why not: especially breaking the day up between daytime must-see displays and spectacularly better-at-night displays, wedging what looks to be a fantastic dining experience in between. And you go, Andrea, enjoying a bourbon cocktail to honor November - of course, any month is an excuse for a bourbon cocktail, but I digress. And well done, Jon, keeping with the Holiday spirit by enjoying a rum punch. "A Longwood Christmas never disappoints." Truer words never, spoken, Jon. And speaking of speaking words: gnocchi. Don't worry, Jon: with Andrea's patient assistance, you'll get there one day. Perhaps a return trip to Longwood for more practice. Thanks for sharing your enjoyable experience. As always, kudos to the cameraperson.
Haha...definitely need a few more visits to Longwood to master gnocchi on camera. A Longwood Christmas really lived up to the hype this year and we both loved the retro theme.
I am planning on visiting for the first time this coming Christmas and earlier in this year Longwood Gardens. A real Christmas display at Christmas will be nice and this is the place to see them with grandchildren. Sorry I missed seeing the retro Christmas display. The tree dripping with silver tinsel is just so pretty along with the silver garland.
Thanks for watching! Longwood does a really great job with their decorations and it is a great place to take the whole family. We did really enjoy their retro theme this year and we are looking forward to see what next year's theme will be.
It's no surprise that we love Longwood Gardens and their Christmas celebration is the icing on the cake! This year's theme "Retro Christmas" is a nod to seasons gone by and includes some decorations and trees that might look familiar to regular Longwood Christmas visitors. @@JLewTravels Thank you so much! I can’t wait to go to Longwood this winter! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome video. Such a wonderful job!! Stay healthy this winter! 😁😊😀
@karenteneyck9835 thank you so much. Andrea really appreciates the comment as she does all of the editing. Obviously we love Longwood and we can't wait to see what they have for this holiday season.
The trees and lights are spectacular especially when you got a close up, the trees seemed to come alive. The colorful lights throughout made the tour magical. Thank you.
It looks like they really outdid themselves this year! I thought nothing could top the reflecting pool of floating cranberries that they featured a few years back, but this is amazing!
Thanks for watching! Longwood always does a great job and we didn't get to Longwood in 2017 to see the cranberries. Clearly we missed out that year! Merry 🎄!
Yes, we actually think that the main fountains were exactly the same. With the retro theme, they took a bit of liberty in repeating past decorations. Chimes Tower was a bit different, but repeated elements from different sections.
@@JLewTravels it’s sad they did that in a way. fire and ice was perhaps my favorite , loved the led “fountains. Last year was marginal at best. Don’t get me wrong it’s all beautiful but I hope for my yearly 3 hour trip it’s worth it. I’m a member so I come anyway just don’t want a disappointment
We still think it’s worth it, but agree that Fire and Ice was the best in recent years. The Conservatory and DuPont are still beautiful and you can almost forget that outside is the same. We have been thinking about what they could be planning with the opening of the West conservatory next year. Maybe they held off this year for something spectacular next?

I was a volunteer at Longwood for many years. It was such a thrill to help decorate for Christmas. I ❤️ Longwood!
That's awesome that you volunteered at Longwood. We love going there and the Christmas season might be among our favorite season there.

Great job with the editing! I grew up very near there. It's always emotional seeing the Longwood Christmas. 😍

Longwood during the holidays is magical. We love visiting! Thanks for watching.

This looks very similar to last year around the main fountain garden , is it
