@forthelikesof.austin Yep, and it's thanks to Geoff Rickly, who produced this album. They had different producers after this album, and Gerard's vocals sounded way more polished on them
@katexavier1985 I think his newer vocal style he started using around Danger Days and Hesitant Alien is a cool alteration on the songs they play live since they've started playing again, if that makes sense. It's still very aggressive but it's more tonal and youthful, rather than edgy and emo pop-punk-ish. It's cool.
Ryukosen They were damn good and impressive, considering I don't think he'd had formal vocal training. He'd sang in bands as a teenager & I think he improved his vocals over time mainly through practicing. If you listen to the Bullet demos on May Death Never Stop You, you can tell his vocal technique improved a lot
@Maff77GD 3:05 - 3:21 I'm pretty positive that this was an actual vocal take used on the album. I can't hear any difference between his vocals in this clip & on the album version
See, if i try to do what he did at the end there, i would just sound like a shrieking little girl and my voice would probably cut out. Which is why i'm learning/practicing how to properly scream (with good technique) and i'm getting the hang of it, i just need to work on volume/projection to get it as loud as that
@Lavender Llama Yeah it takes proper technique to scream without damaging your vocal cords. Sonny Moore fucked up his voice from screaming improperly & that's one of the main reasons he quit From First To Last & started making instrumental music as Skrillex (from what I've heard anyway)
@Pedro Ortega When Joe said Gerard is his cousin on his podcast I was surprised he never mentioned that before (unless he did & I'm mistaken). Cool little fact, though
its insane how raw his vocals stayed on the final mix

you can hear right at 3:06 that this was the take they used for the song!
😍😍😍
I noticed
Yeah that’s right. But at the line “how much” he did a gap. So they cut it and start recording for the next part. Love his voice so much
What song was it called?

@@faked_my_deathya this is definitely the exact take they kept there’s no doubt
Yeah you’re right about that part but I think the last time he said “all we are is bullets I mean this” is different
@@Lifesaver7741 It could be, it's hard for me to tell but it sounds extremely similar to the album version imo
I‘m pretty sure it‘s layered, so definitely in there… just not the dominant vocal line but idk
he’s hoppin and boppin
