Awesome video as usual, perfect mx5 content! Not sure if you can buy them in the states but I'm currently doing a turbo build in progress and will be using a Motorsport Electronics ME221 for my 1.8 NB, as I'd imagine haltec's are pretty pricey
Nice improvement! One suggestion: stop hooking your thumbs around the wheel. You can get away with that for autox but for track keep your thumbs up. IF you go off one day and the wheel jerks it will save you a broken thumb or sprained wrist. As far as the ECU...haltech is really no better and since their support for Miatas is pretty nonexistent compared to DIYautotune, it's not worth it. Some like the Motorsport Electronic ME221 or ME442...if you can find someone to tune it. FuelTech is another option, but it's more rare than the ME. However it's definitely a slick alternative if you want to replace your instrument panel with digital.
This car needs ABS and you could push it a lot harder! Also a Haltech should solve your ECU problems. I'm running an Elite 1000 on my NB2 with ITBs and it runs like factory.
How much was your Haltech? If I could do it again I would probably get a higher end ECU than MegaSquirt. Also 100% agree on ABS haha, hopping out of modern cars like the C6 Corvette into this made me realize how much time is left on the table because I can't slam on the brakes
@@pattyboi just saw this, My Haltech Elite 1000 with PNP harness and Wideband kit all up was around 1.8k USD. Cheaper of course if you have a wideband kit. Maybe its time to return to stock the NB, sell it and grab a mazdaspeed with better internals, better gearbox and of course ABS. Throw your mods on there and turn up the boost.
It’s videos like these that have me so anxious to get my Miata out there for autox and road course!
Nice video👍🏽
Sweeet! I love Waterford Hills, probably my favorite track
Great driving man! Obviously the car is quicker but it’s crazy how much faster it looks
Sick car man, I'm trying to pick up a flying miata turbo kit for my NA8 but they never seem to be in stock :(

i just got my miata out on nola motor sports racetrack, it’s so fun
So how is it compared to N/A Miata when it comes to throttle reaction? Is it still so fun to control mid corner?

Keep the miata or get an NA miata
I thought megasquirt is good
Pretty quick to blame an ecu that many use and don’t have that problem. Find the real problem.
