Tbh imo there is no difference in where an athlete is from I'm always happy when Ethiopian or Kenyan is succesfull despite me beeing from Germany. I am a long diatance runner myself and it is really nice to train either of these beautiful countries the people are so humble I am just feeling sad that a lot of people on earth like in Burundi or Bowtswana do not share the same life support and standard as we do in Europe :(
Look at his leg cadence, the exuberance, his composed posture, the joy on his face. Kenenisa is the greatest I have ever seen. Magnificent, fluid, relentless, brave and determined. Thank you KB. Go well
Noone could beat Kenenisa Bekele from 2004 - 2009. He still have the World Record in 5000m and 10000m, and it is over 10 years old now.., This man is amazing!!!!
No body has even ome close to his world records or even tried to break them Last time someone tried was himself in 2010 I think at the 10,000m but he came up like 5 seconds short
In the time span you mentioned - 2007 was Bernard Lagat's year (1500m and 5000m champ). But other than that, spot on.... Bekele owned most of the 2000s in 5k and 10k, and should be considered one of the greatest ever!
Bekele is the greatest ...but in race Farah has other type of mindset ...he has his own strategy.. slowly slowly moves than ..final lap ...no one will catch Farah ...he has so much power in his legs after 11 round and 24 round ...his double Olympic gold says
He completely reinvented running form. It's really tough to find anyone who runs like he does. He has a certain rhythm that is just so efficient and unbreakable, it's no wonder he always has that energy saved up for ridiculous final laps.
Even in marathon Kenenisa is one of the greatest (he missed the marathon record by 2 seconds at Berlin 2019). He is overall the GOAT of long distance running.
The man was built for this sport and his records will stand for generations to come i look forward to seeing him compete in the London Marathon against Eliud Kipchoge before he officially retires.
Kenenisa Bekele, along with Haile Gebrselassie, are the greatest distance runners in history. Eliud Kipchoge is the greatest marathon runner in history.
I give Marathon to Abebe bekila of Ethiopia... Rome Olympic and Tokyo Olympic I think is the Goat don't me wrong I'm not saying Eliud is not great he is rightfully but the Ethiopian Guy abebe bikila he was something special.
@@osckodam abebe bikila never run a marathon under 2 hours and 10 minutes, his best time was 2:11, kipchoge’s best was a 2:01 and kipchoge has won 16 marathons in his career out of 18, bikila only won two marathons
I remember these olympics when Ethiopia swept all the gold medals in both the men's and women's long distance events and Ethiopians just went berserk with celebration
Bekele is the greatest distance runner of all time by a long way and was only deprived of the double double by the great Hisham El Gourrouj in 2004 who in achieving that feat wrote his own name into olympic folk lore. One double world record holder beating another - the only 'blot' on Bekele's copy book. Put a cape on this man he is 'Superman' and one of my 2 hero's (alongside El Gourrouj)
Ethiopians and Kenyans though, born to run long distance. I'm Ethiopian myself and have alot of respect for Kenyans. I dunno what it is, but I like Kenyan people. If we don't win a race, I'm hoping they do all.

Kenenisa wins medals in record times after breaking spirts of proven all-time runners meanwhile Farah win slow races by out-kicking junior runners & run-of-the-mill East Africans who have terrible tactics. Dude is feasting in a weak sauce era for the 10k/5k ala Serena feasting on run-of-the-mill Eastern Euros. Don't EVER compare Farah to Bekele based on his medal counts b/c Farah isn't sniffing Kenenisa's PBs not to mention past-prime Bekele schooled PRIME Farah in the 2013 half marathon. Oh let's no forget Farah was a nobody (never came close to beating Kenenisa) when Bekele was ruling the 5k/10k & came to prominence after Kipchoge/Bekele were past their primes.
The background music makes this video even more badass. Does anyone know the name of this song, kindly let me know, 3rd time in 2 years I am coming back here to check for an answer :D
Easily... Farah just joined the rank of giants of long distance. But Bekele is by far and away the undisputed greatest of all time, with Haile coming second.
Haile's record stayed too short and he was breaking records micro by micro seconds. Just after Kenenisa showed up records staid for over a decade and Marathon record will be under threat to the real king k
My favorite record is from London 2012 when David Rudisha broke the 800m world record leading from the front followed by Nigel Amos breaking the junior record and all the other athletes on the field setting records with the greatest depth of times ever
Don't forget Mohammed Aman beating Rudisha 3 times in the 800m and beating Amos 2 times. Aman also is 800m elite with Rudisha. Aman is Erhiopian by the way.
Don't even try to compare the difference between 100m and 200m with the difference between 5000m and 10000m. For 200m you can accelerate pretty fast like if it was a 150m race, then cruise to victory; for 10000m you need to be able to sustain an effort for twice as long as the for 5000m and still have a good dash in the end
I'm Kenyan but I have to hold my hands up for this guy
Haha nice

Bekele is the goat
Kipchoge is the greatest marathon runner of all time

Joahoua Cheptegei

Yes
And he keeps smiling!
Kenenisa was born having special unique muscular fibers that allow him to kick that fast, faster than any other runner.
Wow Wow ! Still now me never see like bekele fabulous athletes .....really bekele is brilliant.. .,
No one can compare with him he is the king of long distance running
I hope the next generation of athletes will be at his level or better
Bekele is the best along Distance athlete in 21c.
Belete Muleta no in the 21c that would still be Mo Farah (although he doesn't hold WR) And for marathon it would be Eliud Kipchoge
Bekele could participate in any statal weekend races as a training and still win a couple of thousand dollars.
That smile on last lap🔥🔥😍
He's the most muscular long distance runner I have seen
Search up Robert de Castella. Guy was a marathon runner with legs like tree trunks.
Just looks like it becasues hes so short
@Mekuanent Getachew He means that with the same muscular mass you look more muscular if you are shorter
Look up Alan Webb, or Chris Solinsky

he ran faster in his final lap in the 10,000M than in the 5000M
