I think that Hoyoverse is on the path of self destruction. They are making all the wrong design choices for ALL their games without ever even considering the possibility to maybe, just maybe, listen to all the valid criticism. Meanwhile their direct competitors are doing all the things people have asked from Hoyoverse. They are so arrogant and complacent and seem to take success for granted.
I'd be lying if I was to say I was sure dot will get more support in future at this point I thought it would though but seems forgotten at this point with just a buff in the moc pure fiction and stuff I really do hope that it does get its support the archetype is completely unfinished

No? It's completely fine in Nihility and the DoTs we have are fine. WE NEED MORE characters not a new path and we need more "special" forms of DoT like Arcana and Firekiss and/or allowing Ice, Quantum, Imaginary to apply a unique form of DoT Literally nothing else
based on dreams ive seen of Herta's kit i think its possible Acheron was intended to be used with Dot but was largely rejected because she gives nothing back to Dot. basically Navia all over again
I doubt Acheron was intended for DoT specifically. The Emanator characters seem to be built around the idea of synergizing with their respective paths. While yes acheron gives nothing back to her teammates for that synergy I find that rather fitting for her character and her path. DoTcheron teams work well in my experience with Acheron, Kafka and black swan.
DoT is not a thing, it's just "kafka teams", this is like trying to make a big deal over Acheron slowly being left behind. The only difference is that she's a better designed unit that will age better.
Though fugue was heavy into superbreak, I'm actually planning to put her alongside a Kafka comp and Acheron comp. Kafka because the skill buff allows to bruteforce toughness and because of exo-toughnes it allows to break twice hence causing a break dot in enemy twice. Acheron is a good fit because others might suggest to give the Fugue skill buff on sustain support on acheron team but I sugget to give it to Acheron especially for E0S0 Acheron because in theory it makes her stack 2 slash dream in a skill. And going back on dot topic, fugue has a good niche in dot comp because upon breaking enemy with correct element that causes a break dot and twice of it because of exo toughness; it also proc superbreak which is good added damage to dot comp
New apoc shadow having a 200% dot buff & they still can't beat the new apoc stage 4 with a good time or without dying cause cocolia keeps ulting. I just used firefly break buff for it lol that shit was sad
Before watching this video I want to say I am actually glad we have not gotten DOTs units in a while mostly because I know for a fact that Hoyo wants DOT to be dominate for a long time by not releasing DOT supports early into the lifespan of the game cause we know the early units would be powercrept on way or another. Once they release any DOT support, the archetype will flip the tier list and I am so confident of it.
Kafka is arguably the best DoT unit for DoT units which is an issue with DoT as a whole. Acheron doesn’t exactly buff DoT but takes advantage of what they do. Nihility is weird because it’s a debuff path at its core and DoT is like a byproduct of it.
Honestly for my nahility team i'm really happy with my dragon lady. If there was a light cone with a stacking or refreshing debuff, I think that would solve a lot of problems.
Everything has a plan, i think thee rason fugue was not a dot support because they need a unit that might replace H.TB since R.TB might be a thing and hopefully 3.X will have a dot support
I feel like with all the speed buffs going on coming up and action advance for your team, the speed of enemies will increase greatly, which will align perfectly for DOT after this rememberence patch. Suddenly your dot will be meta. On the other hand, isn't all team comps 2 damage type units, a harmony and a heal or preservation? Sounds like dot is already done, just needs a harmony for them maybe. Or it's the least played team comp and not worth it.
I mean Fugue will come out in "dec. 25" and its shown that she applies burn,and increases allies attack,she also brings the "Exo-toughness" effect (a "fake-toughness" that you can break again so Boothill,Argenti,and Himeko mains rejoice.),and lastly She gives superbreak buff to her supported ally and that buff can spread if she ults. (Damn she killed the Trailblazer...) She's "alot" but she still makes people burn.
I think Dot is a well of untapped potential. All we need is 1 or 2 DoT supports (one of which a sustain) and we'd be live. I have a Yunli and Rappa teams (don't have Ruan Mei but ill just go duble super break i guess) but i will hold out hope for the DoT fans and kafka lovers
Honestly? I kinda understand why they're not touching DOT as of the current moment. When we got Black Swan Kafka became OP...this team could stomp any content with ease if built well enough. Funny thing is, DOT is still my strongest team comp and i still beat everything (almost) I think that in 3.2 or 3.3 theyre gonna release a DOT Rememberance character that's gonna synergize with DOT

The curse of many gachas, many early game units are simply doomed becuase they are designed with a certain playstyle that not even the devs want to stick with as time passes. They either make new relics sets specifically for DOT or release in the future a busted support, but the core mechanic will still be the same, which is simply, not good enough compared to other playstyles. It will be left evenf urther behind with the upcoming summon meta.
What do you mean, Jiaoqiu is a perfect DoT unit...Just pull 3 copies of him *cough cough*. for being one of the few crazies that actually like him and went for said E2 and gave him a full DoT build because I don't own Acheron (don't ask or question my questionable decisions), I can say he is absolutely bonkers strong for having power equivalent to BS, but coming with consistent debuffs, SP positivity and DoT ticks that actually rival Black Swan, and giving much needed flexibility to the DoT comp (Black Swan + Jiao, Kafka + Jiao, or all 3 at once all work incredibly well depending on the content you're facing). Still irks me they had to lock all that potential behind eidolons while he works perfectly for Acheron with 0 investment, but oh well.
I play mostly with the guys and only got his E0S1, so I doubt I'll ever play DoT with Sampo, probably break. But I hope Nihility will rival Harmony in this Harmony Swipe Robin game
Jiaoqiu’s E2 could have been in his base kit because even though it’s good, it only works well when you build for it and he’s in a dot team. He would have been great for Archeron and Dot and it would have increased his sales.
Idk if I'm just coping, but I don't see hsr abandoning dot altogether. If Jing Yuan can get a substanial buff in 2.7, I don't see why an entire playstyle won't. Kafka is also one of the most popular hsr characters so I'm gonna keep waiting 🙏
best D.O.T teams are often confused for best nihility teams, because the best D.O.T team i have myself consists of kafka, black swan, acheron and aventurine which is sad because acheron while great, killed the playability of D.O.T. and we do have Dot supports in people like ruan mei, huohuo, robin and even fugue can buff it in some way, but it's very bad that the option and viability of dot has gone down to crit dot in the exact team i mentioned which does better with fire nihility foxian guy over aventurine but we also do have dot 4 stars in guinaifen, sampo and luka, but at the same time, because of acheron, any D.O.T buffer will indirectly support acheron more than actually supporting dot, thus why i will die on the hill of acheron ruined and killed the dot playstyle.
If you want to do stuff with DOT then just pull the reruns of the current DOT Team? Look at the First eidolons of the DOT 5 Star Team characters. All E1 are OP of Kafka, blackswan and ruan mei. Even the E2 are OP of These three. I did all 3 end Game modes with Kafka, black swan, ruan mei, huohuo and my Second Team was acheron, jiaqiou, sunday, luocha/gepard. All 3 modes are finished with 3 Stars and all i Had to do is skip few new characters and Go for reruns. Get eidolons for characters i already build. You dont need the newest characters to Finish endgame stuff. 🤷

Yeah, I have the same regret. Having e0 s0 kafka and black Swa n as a f2p hurts so much. I even had to hard pity black Swan and missed sparkle because of that.
Months ago, I speculated on UA-cam that a summon meta and an HP meta were coming in 3.x. It appears now that these speculations were right. Featured in the Honkai: Star Rail trailer at The Game Awards 2024, Castorice - rumored to be a quantum Remembrance and HP unit who wields a scythe and summons a dragon memosprite, to be released in 3.2 - is one of the most highly anticipated characters on Amphoreus. (A number have expressed disappointment in her design in the trailer, though.) Several new Nihility units are rumored to be coming in 3.x, particularly during the latter half of 3.x. Anaxa appears to be one of them, rumored to be an ice Nihility unit. What exactly he does, we don't know right now. One figures at least one of these new 3.x Nihility units will have something to do with DoTs, right? Right?
This is a problem I see consistently, from content creators - selective application of context. Everyone understands "power creep" is a reality in gacha, and no one hesitates to complain about that reality, and talk about how it drives many unfortunate standards and practices of developers. However, this same reality is ignored, when it does not suit the desired ideology. Let's take Firefly, as an example - Had she come out prior to Ruan Mei, or really any time prior to Acheron, she would be half of what she is. Because she came out in a post-Acheron reality, the nature of "power creep" meant that she must be over-tuned with things like implant, universal break, and inherent super-break. She had to get these things, which make her far more powerful but, most importantly, also provide substantial "creep immunity" to her, simply because otherwise she would not have generated any appeal when compared to Acheron. Had she come out prior to Acheron, of course she would not have had some of those things in her kit. The same thing applies to this discussion of DOT - As stated here, the DOT comp is still completely capable of clearing all content currently. If you got a DOT unit two months ago, it would have to compete with Acheron, but not the Remembrance comp that everyone understands, if not outright expects, to "power creep" EVERY other comp (It will, but I suspect not as much as many people seem to assume). What you should want - if you are someone that loves DOT - is for a DOT character to drop AFTER v3.4, because then it will have to have as much, or more, as not only Acheron, FF, or Feixiao comps, but also the fully employed Remembrance comp. Why rush now, and complain about a comp which can still manage to clear everything, just to get an unneeded upgrade? Common sense should tell you, that 4 months from now, when it is actually needed, that same character would be effectively one massive meta-shift stronger than it would have been a month ago. The fact that Robin and Kafka are always as strong as the main carry/carries in their comp, it only makes sense to want to optimize that future carry's kit. Learn to apply the reality of "power creep" to your own benefit. Stop swimming against the stream, and complaining about how exhausting it is, and I promise you will have a much more enjoyable, and less stressful, experience in the "flow" of gacha games.

The solution is a remembrance character that summon a memos sprite that go to the enemy field and after we kill it it procke 50 stacks of all DoTs, advance the enemy and give the abilities for DoT to crit 60/160 %
As a fellow DoT lover, the ONLY thing giving me some hope is that they’ve been giving DoT some preferential treatment in certain endgame modes. So they obviously remember it exists. But you’re right, it’s looking grim. I had been hoping that Tribbie (3.1 Quantum Harmony) might be DoT support, but that’s starting to seem unlikely.
Since you weren't here when DoT was a huge thing, let me enlighten you on how DoT was pre-2.0. So basically, our DoT options were: Kafka as trigger, one extra character as sustain, and the other 2 were flex slots. One may choose to either go with 2 other DoT characters there, or maybe one DoT one Harmony, or some other comp. And who were the other DoT characters: Serval, Sampo, Luka, and GuiNaiFen post 1.4. Yeah, all 4 star characters. As a playstyle, DoT has lived under the shadow of many other comps, so DoT players have always understood that they never always gotten the better pact compared to other playstyles. The actually smart DoT players know how to invest into their account, necessarily getting at least an E1 for their Black Swan (if you didn't, you are not a smart DoT player). Also, if you actually meant that DoT doesn't synergies with DoT, you are sorely mistaken and likely delusional. Acheron Kafka BS is a staple comp. Not the most optimal, but definitely has its position. Fugue is the only char of the 3 released both BS that do not synergies with DoT, and even so, I believe with the right build, they can work. In other words, there is no fixed comp for DoT. One has to be smart about how one builds their DoT accounts and teams, and understand about their weakness and strengths so that one can work around or with them. And also, giving DoT the ability to crit is inherently not much more beneficial than just adding other buffs to DoT teams. If you look at Genshin, Nahida's C2 giving the ability for Dendro related reactions to be able to crit is just basically a flat 20% buff to those reactions, that's it. Giving DoT the ability to crit while adding a limit is inherently worse than just giving it buff else where, like more DEF ignore or RES PEN. To put it into prespective, even if you did get that Crit buff in DU, did you suddenly go and change your DoT characters' builds to work with the buff, or do you just go "oh cool, a very minor, inconsequential buff" and move on with your run? And finally, when it comes to what is in store for DoT in the future, so what if Remembrance is coming in 3.0? Given that Fugue is a Superbreak support in the Nihility path, what's stopping a future Remembrance character to have the ability to synergise with DoT? What stopping for the to be a hunt unit who can apply a bunch of DoTs, or an Erudation unit who can do so as well (see Serval). Overall, I think you misunderstand the past to present power level of DoT. You have only played DoT since Kafka-BS, so I don't think you understand how the core is made, and how it has evolved for those of us who have been playing since back then. Also, I do not believe you understand the fundamentals of character design, and how a character is set to release that is smart and beneficial to the company in general.
To be fair the CN Playerbase Hates DOT,(The reason why is Damage over Time is Contrary to Zero cycling) So I think Hoyo would LOVE To unleash a DOT Meta to Dominate a Whole version cycle, as the Main Meta. Though with their Home turf of CN not being a fan of DOT I doubt they will get a DOT meta off the Ground unless they release a unit (Probably one that makes enemies go 2-5 more times in a cycle)... I doubt they will get any DOT unit off the ground in CN.
i remember seeing a leak about a quantum abundance character for dot to be released in 3.0 but we got the herta and aglaea instead so now i'm hoping that they actually meant just version 3 in general bc i love this team so much and want them to be stronger 🥲

Fugue does not apply a DoT, you are mistaking break burn DoT for an actual built in DoT in a character's kit

I just think they're not good for end game, we all aim for a 0 turn cycle. We can't be chipping away at our enemies and expect a 0 turn.

Months ago, I speculated on UA-cam that a summon meta and an HP meta were coming in 3.x. It appears now that these speculations were right. Featured in the Honkai: Star Rail trailer at The Game Awards 2024, Castorice - rumored to be a quantum Remembrance and HP unit who wields a scythe and summons a dragon memosprite, to be released in 3.2 - is one of the most highly anticipated characters on Amphoreus.
(A number have expressed disappointment in her design in the trailer, though.)
Several new Nihility units are rumored to be coming in 3.x, particularly during the latter half of 3.x. Anaxa appears to be one of them, rumored to be an ice Nihility unit. What exactly he does, we don't know right now.
One figures at least one of these new 3.x Nihility units will have something to do with DoTs, right?

This may be copium from me but I'm pretty sure a couple months back there was a leak saying a dot character was coming in 3.X
This is a problem I see consistently, from content creators - selective application of context.
Everyone understands "power creep" is a reality in gacha, and no one hesitates to complain about that reality, and talk about how it drives many unfortunate standards and practices of developers. However, this same reality is ignored, when it does not suit the desired ideology.
Let's take Firefly, as an example - Had she come out prior to Ruan Mei, or really any time prior to Acheron, she would be half of what she is. Because she came out in a post-Acheron reality, the nature of "power creep" meant that she must be over-tuned with things like implant, universal break, and inherent super-break. She had to get these things, which make her far more powerful but, most importantly, also provide substantial "creep immunity" to her, simply because otherwise she would not have generated any appeal when compared to Acheron. Had she come out prior to Acheron, of course she would not have had some of those things in her kit.
The same thing applies to this discussion of DOT - As stated here, the DOT comp is still completely capable of clearing all content currently. If you got a DOT unit two months ago, it would have to compete with Acheron, but not the Remembrance comp that everyone understands, if not outright expects, to "power creep" EVERY other comp (It will, but I suspect not as much as many people seem to assume). What you should want - if you are someone that loves DOT - is for a DOT character to drop AFTER v3.4, because then it will have to have as much, or more, as not only Acheron, FF, or Feixiao comps, but also the fully employed Remembrance comp.
Why rush now, and complain about a comp which can still manage to clear everything, just to get an unneeded upgrade? Common sense should tell you, that 4 months from now, when it is actually needed, that same character would be effectively one massive meta-shift stronger than it would have been a month ago. The fact that Robin and Kafka are always as strong as the main carry/carries in their comp, it only makes sense to want to optimize that future carry's kit. Learn to apply the reality of "power creep" to your own benefit. Stop swimming against the stream, and complaining about how exhausting it is, and I promise you will have a much more enjoyable, and less stressful, experience in the "flow" of gacha games.

The solution is a remembrance character that summon a memos sprite that go to the enemy field and after we kill it it procke 50 stacks of all DoTs, advance the enemy and give the abilities for DoT to crit 60/160 %

As a fellow DoT lover, the ONLY thing giving me some hope is that they’ve been giving DoT some preferential treatment in certain endgame modes. So they obviously remember it exists. But you’re right, it’s looking grim. I had been hoping that Tribbie (3.1 Quantum Harmony) might be DoT support, but that’s starting to seem unlikely.
Since you weren't here when DoT was a huge thing, let me enlighten you on how DoT was pre-2.0.
So basically, our DoT options were: Kafka as trigger, one extra character as sustain, and the other 2 were flex slots. One may choose to either go with 2 other DoT characters there, or maybe one DoT one Harmony, or some other comp. And who were the other DoT characters: Serval, Sampo, Luka, and GuiNaiFen post 1.4. Yeah, all 4 star characters. As a playstyle, DoT has lived under the shadow of many other comps, so DoT players have always understood that they never always gotten the better pact compared to other playstyles. The actually smart DoT players know how to invest into their account, necessarily getting at least an E1 for their Black Swan (if you didn't, you are not a smart DoT player).
Also, if you actually meant that DoT doesn't synergies with DoT, you are sorely mistaken and likely delusional. Acheron Kafka BS is a staple comp. Not the most optimal, but definitely has its position. Fugue is the only char of the 3 released both BS that do not synergies with DoT, and even so, I believe with the right build, they can work. In other words, there is no fixed comp for DoT. One has to be smart about how one builds their DoT accounts and teams, and understand about their weakness and strengths so that one can work around or with them.
And also, giving DoT the ability to crit is inherently not much more beneficial than just adding other buffs to DoT teams. If you look at Genshin, Nahida's C2 giving the ability for Dendro related reactions to be able to crit is just basically a flat 20% buff to those reactions, that's it. Giving DoT the ability to crit while adding a limit is inherently worse than just giving it buff else where, like more DEF ignore or RES PEN. To put it into prespective, even if you did get that Crit buff in DU, did you suddenly go and change your DoT characters' builds to work with the buff, or do you just go "oh cool, a very minor, inconsequential buff" and move on with your run?
And finally, when it comes to what is in store for DoT in the future, so what if Remembrance is coming in 3.0? Given that Fugue is a Superbreak support in the Nihility path, what's stopping a future Remembrance character to have the ability to synergise with DoT? What stopping for the to be a hunt unit who can apply a bunch of DoTs, or an Erudation unit who can do so as well (see Serval).
Overall, I think you misunderstand the past to present power level of DoT. You have only played DoT since Kafka-BS, so I don't think you understand how the core is made, and how it has evolved for those of us who have been playing since back then. Also, I do not believe you understand the fundamentals of character design, and how a character is set to release that is smart and beneficial to the company in general.

To be fair the CN Playerbase Hates DOT,(The reason why is Damage over Time is Contrary to Zero cycling) So I think Hoyo would LOVE To unleash a DOT Meta to Dominate a Whole version cycle, as the Main Meta. Though with their Home turf of CN not being a fan of DOT I doubt they will get a DOT meta off the Ground unless they release a unit (Probably one that makes enemies go 2-5 more times in a cycle)... I doubt they will get any DOT unit off the ground in CN.
i remember seeing a leak about a quantum abundance character for dot to be released in 3.0 but we got the herta and aglaea instead so now i'm hoping that they actually meant just version 3 in general bc i love this team so much and want them to be stronger 🥲
