  • Andrew Rawlinson ‘THE HIT’ Interview by Iain McNay
Author of ‘The Hit - Into The Rock’N’Roll Universe And Beyond’ and ‘The Book Of Enlightened Masters - Western Teachers in Eastern Traditions.’
Andrew Talks about his life and how he was aware that he was continually ‘hit’ by realisations, small and large, that enabled him to see through his conditioning. ‘The HIT is both a grace and a disturbance.
    All worlds are a show..
    Reality is open
    It is constantly transforming itself
    It goes beyond itself
    It is where illusion begins
All derangements are connected. Like sub atomic particles they just keep reflecting each other jumping between each other and turning into each other. Just like a magic trick where certainty and deception change places.
It’s a jungle, as soon as you find a path you loose it.
Everybody is looking for who they are ------- but they are nobody
Not only is the world stranger than you imagine - it is stranger than you can imagine. And we are all collaborators in creation.
And what is it to collaborate? To know that we are the mirror as well as the face in it, pain and what cures pain. This is the expanse of spirit: rich and dark.
Yes, it’s the Gods who are rocking us, who are looking for someone to receive them.
There is really no reality without identity, and identity is a show.’

I wish we lived in a world where the audience for this show was in the millions.
I hope that you will make more. I watch one every night.
Thankyou for such a feast of wisdom and lovliness. 💛

"Everybody’s looking for who they are but they are nobody. And that’s of course the great gift to realise that you’re nobody, because then you carry no weight. And as soon as you think you are someone you’ve got to keep that polished, man. "

I have fond memories of Andrew as a lecturer at Lancaster. The question he set for the final exam in Bhakti was " Vishnu is to Shiva as Steve Davis is to Giant Haystacks, Discuss." I wonder if there are lectures like him around today.

Loving these interviews, how it's not just one message being focused on, but also an insight into these people's lives, growth, other anecdotes - like meeting a really interesting person whilst travelling without even having to leave your bedroom.....

'There's no gradutions in the hit...only in how it's packaged.' (from the sublime to the ridiculous). This is the kind of s*** that destroys the hearts and minds of generations.

I have two equations with infinity
    1. ( -- infinity) + (+ infinity) = 0
    2..(infinity -- n) -= (o + n) therefore --n = + n & infinity = 0

Perhaps a clarification is required, in the first equation one can imagine a Cartesian axis that has an empty zero at its centre, but any number in the positive right hand direction plus the same number in the negative left hand direction equals zero, but a full zero.
With the second equation, one can imagine an object & think before this wasn't here, now it is so thats equivalent to( 0 + n), the way most of us think about things, but there's another way to things about things, as being what they are because they are nothing else, an abstraction from everything else therefore (infinity -- n), as the object is both (+ n) & (-- n) so is zero equivalent to infinity..

This is the same kinda awesome, in a down to earth kinda way.. Reminds me of Jeff Foster. The everyday man's hero.

Reading you earlier book at the moment very through, apart from missing Hubert Benoit, I would say, who presented a deep western psychological analysis & method of zen in his "The Supreme Doctrine". But the best of its kind apart from that.
