There is a difference between brushing too much and brushing too hard. Does it mean you can still brush often like 3 or 4 times a day but don't do it to hard
My periodontist is having me brush my teeth VERY hard. He is having me put my toothbrush partly on my gums/partly on my teeth and has me brush as hard as possible. I'm doing what he says but am concerned it's too much. He told me to do this twice a day for five weeks and then see him again.
Well, if your gums are infected and inflamed, this is exactly the correct recommendation. The aggressive toothbrushing will more thoroughly clean and stimulate the tissue causing it to heal and stop infection.
I go to my new dentist on December 20th at 1:45pm what can I do if I get too nervous when seeing a new dentist for the first time for my teeth cleaning
Can you please talk more about brushing with braces and how to properly use an electrical toothbrush? I brush my teeth with my braces for about 4 mins twice a day because of all the metal I have in my mouth. So are you supposed to brush more than normal with braces? Also, my toothbrush head is frayed after just one week of using it but then again I do have braces..
I think this is why my the gums of my canine teeth have receded about 1/16th of an inch. I have grooves in my rear teeth too. I've been doing the down on top, up on bottom brushing and not sawing back and forth anymore.
I'm only 18 and for the past few months I've been brushing aggressively for every after meal, more than twice a day. I didn't really noticed not knew anything of gum recession until I finally noticed it after its receded noticably. For now I don't have any gum diseases or sensitivity/inflammation so I'm looking if I can somehow stopped further recession tho I can't grow my gums back
Every time i eat (which i eat a lot but im not overweight due to fast metabolism) i just feel the need to brush my teeth even when im in the middle of eating 💀
My teeth are spread apart, and there is a gap in my 2 front ones. My gums are swelling and covering part of my left front tooth, along with behind both of them. What do I do?
Doctor, the gum which lies at the top of my front 2 top teeth( small portion) appear to have slight observable blood vessels? daily. There is no blood when i brush my teeth and my gum have receded a bit due to aggressive brushing in the past. Now, I'm unsure of what these blood vessels mean and why they aren't leaving. Also, my mouth burns and certain parts of my gum, including the aforementioned part burns whenever I use my Colgate mouthwash. Does this mean the mouthwash is too strong for me or should I just abstain from mouthwashes? Also, this gum recession is really bothering me as I read online that the gum cannot grow back on its own naturally and with the current fairly receded gum of mine on the front 2 teeth mainly, what does this spell for the future of my teeth, and would getting bracers at this juncture or some time later still be apt for me? Thank you very much.
Wow I have almost the exact same worry thank god im not alone. Like, I mean I have braces and obviously it can be hard to maintain a good oral hygiene routine but personally I think I have a good routine and I’m not doing any more harder brushing?
got to be where i can't do any less than 20 min per brushing..I am certain there's a some amount of ocd involved..the sensation I missed an area or didn't go over it thoroughly & revisiting areas way too much..switched to a ultra soft brush a year ago & now tackling cutting the brush time way back while doing a thorough job..gums receding.. exposing nerves & pain..will I ever get it right... jeeze!

I go for mornings and after dinner brush again I also gargle some salt water so it stays clean instead of brushing the third time
Its probably more caused from the chemicals in the toothpaste its self and frequent exposure to those I'm sure played a huge roll also..

@@bellion9143 that’s what I say, but she doesn’t seem to care that over-brushing is bad
