It’s like when Epic Games started asking for date of birth and if a kid happened to put in theirs, they decided the account must be for that kid… rather than say a kid just played Fortnite on an adult’s account and put in their own birthdate as prompted. It’s extremely annoying. Now I need a freaking PIN to look at Rated T or R games. I’m twenty fucking seven.

It's to do with storing data of children. The EU has strict laws around what you can do with the data of children under 13, so a lot of companies instead just don't allow children and will ban to avoid the complications of dealing with the laws. However, this does mean even if you are over 13 you can still get banned if you made the account when you was under 13 as they would still have data from when you was younger. Don't know if it has been a problem on Twitch but I know it has on Facebook and other sites

@@Mogeli yes this is confirmed, if you made your account when you were under 13, even if you're literally partnered or whatever, they're going to permaban you and nothing can reverse it, even if you are above the age now. ik a streamer who lost $200 worth of subs to exactly this issue

I got banned from a different live streaming platform because they thought I was underage. I was never underage and the only reason they thought i was underage was because of the 12 in my username. Shortly after I gave up with it, that app started focusing on rappers streaming more than the gamers who streamed on it.
Or "platform doesnt care about users, uses the laziest autoban ever".
Oh boy, I'm glad UA-cam (despite all its flaws) doesn't do this shit. 12 is my favorite number for everything NOT age-related! 😅

This is like the semi-recent Discord one where someone clipped a part of a CP video that just showed some person eating popcorn and shared it over twitter saying something like "Post this image on Discord and your account will get permanently banned!"
Then of course, the intrusive thoughts won and quite a handful of people now lost access to Discord and have been put on a Child Predator list and may or may not have had authorities sent to their locations.

The AI should go off the full streamer's audio and the entire chat log for context then ban after an hour so it can have time to analise for false-positive. The best example of false-positive being sudden mass spam.
