Facebook Shortcut Bar Not Showing / Missing - Fixed!

- Facebook uses the shortcut bar at the bottom of the app as a way for you to quickly and easily navigate to different sections of Facebook. However, we've gotten complaints that the shortcut bar is missing or not showing up for some people. Not only did Facebook move the shortcut bar to the bottom but they changed the settings and where they're located. In this video, I'll walk you through where the shortcut bar is, how to modify it in settings and what to do if the icons aren't showing up at all. If they are completely gone it may be because of some sort of bug in the app so offloading the app will solve this problem. In total, you should have the ability to have the following shortcut icons: Home, Profile, Marketplace, Groups, Notifications (friend requests included), and lastly the menu button.

Any idea how to enable the right column (Facebook ads column) on DESKTOP? Right now, it's just a grey column, without any visible content. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m beginning to think so many of us that lost this feature on our Facebook accounts ... I think Facebook censored us all. It’s all too much of a coincidence . When I go to live video s the old version of Facebook now , I don’t have the same access to the videos I was watching before I lost Watch on my Facebook
I have the shortcut bar but the groups and watch icons have disappeared. Tried everything, still can't find it. Not in short cuts and privacy, so can't toggle them on.

Well done tutorial. My Facebook Shortcuts section isn’t visible anymore so your suggested fixes didn’t work on my iPad. Interestingly, on my iPhone I still have the Shortcut section. The issue with my iPad seems to have occurred after the recent 302 update. Any idea how to fix?

Same for me. I don’t have Watch and Marketplace. I think it depends on your phone. I tried on my iPhone 6+ and it’s perfect but on the smaller 6 it’s not available. Hope that helps
@@yelena86 , no . It has nothing to do with what Iphone . I have an Iphone 11 , went to sleep , I had the Watch symbol , woke up checked my phone , no Watch symbol and not an option to turn it on as it is not offered now in my Shortcut bar . No one seems to be able to explain it or solve the issue
My wife and I both had identical Galaxy S9s. Our Facebook apps were both fully updated and were still completely different. My shortcuts randomly changed and were missing some, but all hers worked. It even put my bar on the bottom at one point and hers never did that. It's infuriating.

After I pressed The shortcut Bar, It only shows *Profile, Add friends shortcut. No group or Video on watch short-cut Button .
I try clear cahce and data.. But my watch shortcut did not have.. I alrrady try plenty way.. But not working.. Even laptop also did not have watch shortcut.. I try raise a complaint on fb.. But did not have any action.. Any solution??

Hmmm, no mention of Facebook on a PC. No app. It would have helped to explain all.
I have followed each step. This has not fixed my issue. The groups option is not listed in the options under shortcut bar to add. I have an iphone xr. Do you have any suggestions?
Just established a Fb account on my iphone and my shortcut bar is visible but doesn't work when I try to push an icon. Restarted phone etc...and nothing has helped

I updated fb because the videos weren't playing..then, my shortcut bar disappeared..I also don't have the option to uninstall fb?
With the newest update I am missing all the shortcuts after I reinstalled the FB app. And now I cant turn them on again since the entire "Shortcuts" section is gone... And night mode is gone also. Great

I recently noticed that not all of my pages are showing on my menu at the top of my page under my personal profile. It used to show all of my pages and I could easily toggle back and forth. Now it’s only showing one of my pages. Would you happen to know how to correct this so that my menu will show all of my pages? Thanks again!

As of 1/10/24, this doesn't work. There is no shortcut category under settings after following these steps. Deleted the app and nothing changed. However, this worked: in FB app, under Settings & Privacy, go to Settings, then under Preferences go to Navigation Bar. There is no more shortcut bar. Then touch Customize the Bar. Then under Navigation Bar you can PIN only 3 things. These will show up at the bottom of the FB app. You can hide things you don’t want to see there. The nice thing about choosing 3 is the other things you don’t need to see will disappear because you can only see 5 icons before the menu hamburger in the right corner. if anyone finds a way to create a shortcut bar when there is none at this point, please tell me!

I have always hated Facebook trying to force people to be available 24/7 so I have mobile version on my crummy cheap cell phone (I keep a cheap phone so I don't get scroll addiction lol). I also have an iPad 7th gen. On desktop, on the iPad app, on my cell phone browser, AND logging into my Facebook on my friends Android (who finally was able to find her own settings after the notifications TURNED ON BY THEMSELVES while she was searching sections and trying to help me), and Facebook DOES NOT HAVE A SHORTCUT SETTINGS LIST FOR ME. It doesn't exist. My settings always physically look different from every single friend or family member I compare to. So trying to turn the absolutely horrendous notifications OFF isn't possible. When I log into my friend's phone, I can tap and hold for the settings to pop up to either disable the dot notifications or delete the Watch button altogether, BUT THEY DO NOT HOLD. Facebook is punishing me, I swear, but how and why? They shouldn't have any right to give me (literally) COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SETTINGS THAN ANYONE ELSE. My whole entire browser just changed like 5 days ago and ever since then I hate Facebook so much I want to cry. I am sick and tired of their worthless algorithms not understanding what I like AT ALL and putting me in "recommended for you" categories that go off literally every five minutes. A quick Google search shows I'm not the only one, either. If their algorithms worked they'd know all I want is to scroll quietly like a wallflower and be left alone because my whole life I've had the same account and always disable every single new notification setting immediately. This whole notification BAR is just the worst update they've done yet; I just wish they'd get our pages the same before continually trying to change them.

Hi , I have a question how can I see the history of the profiles on Facebook I have visited ? I’m trying to find a person but I don’t remember there name.
My problem is I don't have on my Facebook app the three-line icon or as they call it the hamburger menu. Even though I have the correct email and password to log in on my Facebook app it then asks for a authentication code from my Google Authenticator App. Every time I give them the six-digit code on my Facebook app it comes back as the wrong code. And Yes, I did make sure to go to my Google Authenticator App and make sure it was in sync. I also updated my Facebook app but I still can't log in. I have an Android phone. What can I do?

Only the Rooms part is missing from my shortcuts bar. I followed your instructions but when FB reinstalled (supposedly) all basic files, the Rooms were still not there. I can see only Stories and Reels - which doesn't help much, as I could have hidden or shown those with the FB settings, anyway. Any idea why the Rooms only have disappeared and how to fix that on an iPhone? Thanks!
