As an American, where the culture is for married people to live separately after marriage, I've always felt the expression about marriage not being between two people, but two families was a little strange, but I get it when I watch Pak dramas. Because the typical narrative of the dramas is that after marriage the bride lives with the groom's family. It's not just two people getting married, it's a woman joining her husband's family's household. Clearly, Moeed's mother and Abeera are not going to live together well. Abeera thinks the world revolves around her, doesn't listen to anyone, including people as patient as her mother or aunt, and has a lot of inexplicable bitterness, especially toward Sabreena.
That's because it was assumed that the girl and boy are well known by everyone there nature there likes dislikes and many things parents feel this as a trust
