Chronic depression. Three things have helped me face another day: my daughter, my son and Ed. The impact PJ has had on my life goes beyond anything I can type here. Thank you for this awesome video.
It's awesome during this time to hear and read about others who have been so deeply impacted by Ed and Pearl Jam during this time. I borrowed the Ten album from a girl in my 6th grade class. I vividly remember my life changing as I laid on the floor next to my parents' stereo with head phones on and hearing the cranked Alive guitar solo for the first time. I begged my parents for a guitar and finally got one for my 13th bday. Now I own 25, play in 2 bands, and it's the most fulfilling hobby in my life. Recorded their MTV Unplugged performance on VHS and watched it so much the tape finally gave out. Got VS the week it came out and the Jeremy single with it because a buddy told me the B side was a great song. I spent most of junior high trying to play and get the tone for Yellow Ledbetter. Finally decided Hendrix rose from the dead and stopped by to record that song, and Eddie just wanted to record with him but had no words so just started making shit up. First girl I ever made out with got me Vitalogy for Christmas. My mom found the booklet and asked if we were "doing marijuana together". Later I actually did smoke weed for the first time while listening to No Code. I got grounded for staying up late to watch them play Wishlist on Letterman after Yield came out. I drew 4th in line during the lottery for the ticket on-sale at the local Karma records for the 98 tour - the guy behind didn't get tickets cause they sold out in the first 10 min... right after I got mine. While listening to Mike's solo on Live on Two Legs me and some buddies damn near hallucinated. Binaural came out the summer before my freshman year of college. Saw the tour that summer and then they released the whole tour on the bootlegs. Me and two buddies over the course of the following year got all 72, plus the Touring Band DVD. Soundtrack of my college years. 2003 tour 2nd row (which turned into front row after all the jumping around), right in front of Mike and he was fist-bumping, high-fiving, and throwing us picks all night and he signed my ticket stub. One of the greatest nights of my life. 2006 my mom died of cancer. Avocado album came out right after. I remember watching them smash a performance on the Letterman set and crying as I watched, thanking God I at least still had Pearl Jam, the greatest constantly rock solid thing in my whole life. Saw three shows that tour, discovering My Morning Jacket when they opened for them in Cleveland. Later that year I joined my first band and met my future wife. If PJ hadn't literally pulled me through the passing of my mom I never would've been in the shape to do those things. First hot, sweaty, pissing in bottles, sharing water, food, weed, and beer all day at a festival to get as close to the stage as possible experience was in 07 at Lollapalooza. Also saw MMJ again and fell in love with old school Kings of Leon (later fell out of love with new age KoL, but still appreciate the old shit). Road trip to see PJ and KoL and week long vacation with my best buds in Virginia Beach in 08. 09 first two night show stretch in Chicago. 2010 took my future wife for the first time, she loved it so I decided I should keep her and proposed shortly after. 2013 Wrigley Field, drunkenly stumbled through the wrong door before the show with a buddy and ended up meeting and taking pictures with Mike, his wife Ashley, Steve Gleason, and Dennis Rodman. Then later spent hours packed in the bowels of Wrigley while a storm raged, then the band came back and killed it. Epic. St. Louis in 2014. Lexington and Wrigley in the pit in 2016. Two nights of Wrigley in 2018. Was supposed to see them in St. Louis on April 4, 2020. Cancelled for COVID. Looking forward to getting out of quarantine and the tour getting rescheduled so I can continue adding to the story. God bless Eddie, Mike, Stone, Jeff, Matt, and Boom, and God bless all of you!!!
great story, i always been a Pearl Jam fan but never see them live (i´m from venezuela and they never came) but as i was reading your story it give me goosebump (sorry if i wrote it wrong) i literally live through your experience!!!! really beautiful.... P. D. my mom died from cancer too and PJ helped me rise again
My condolences about your mother. For me it was my younger brother. PJ has been there for me since 92. I hear shades of my story throughout much of yours. It's happily familiar and bittersweet at the same time. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your stories. I felt like I was living them with you as you recalled them all. I'm real sorry about your mom. I hope you're doing well. Have a great day/night ahead. ✨🌼
eddie you are priceless!! my son has alopecia universalis and looks up to you like his hero :) we both love you muchly, big vegan hugs and blessings from Canada xoxo :))
He is the last Seattle era front man standing. Every story I've heard of him and his wife, they seem like such amazing people! He hasn't let the game go to his head. He uses his platform for good and humanity! And they do so much for children's hospital without the cameras following around. That's how you know they're genuine!
hey eddie vedder i love your music and i love you too, stay home, man you play it right i just love your style and your spirit, what else can i say, much love, peace light perfect health and music gods bless you forever, kisses in your hearth and all your family and associates, thank you man, from são paulo, brasil, morumbi, a great fan of yours!!
Eddie, thanks for writing this song. I love the whole soundtrack to into the wild. Without your songs I never would have known about Chris McCandless. Thank you for the music! Kate
I thank God every single day for creating you Eddie and allowing you to share your amazingly talented gifts. Thanks you, I played the same songs consecutively over the past few days, all PJ literally Life Saving.God Bless you .Your voice goes through my heart and soul I can actually feel it, what a wonderful day I had listening to you again today
Thankyou Jack! Thankyou Eddie! My hero’s! I believe in you both. I honor you for the way my generation grew through the influence your music had on us. A lot has happened since that first night one of my friends bought the album & was playing it at a party down the road. Seems like a different life so long ago. Thankyou for sharing your hearts with the rest of the world through your beautiful music.
I'm not good at listening to songs for the first time but everytime it's Eddie I just enjoy it soo much. The songs are just great. Music today just didn't rise to the level it should have
This man. How many times he has saved me, how many times he has snapped me out of myself and kept my young daughter with her mother alive and intact is more than I could express.
Clairvoyante wouldn’t I technically be called a “Vedderist” going by your theory. Or perhaps you might prefer the term “Eddyest”? Also, your comment gave me a good giggle and laughter is good so thank you 😊 ☮️

In my opinion, within the grunge scene, Eddie is the best in question of backvocals and second voice... he makes wonderful arrangements, his songs have the best ones, is not only a double effect in the voice but yes a lot of different tones, scales...
Who else knows what that feels like? strumming those strings on an acoustic so hard. Also what a cool song the second song is. Been enjoying it for years. Gotta give it a break sometimes.

As much as we love the music, I don't think we come close to loving it as much as he.
3:33 Hi Pete.... Fantastic! The Who and Eddie Vedder. Made my day man
Very cool! That's the first time I've ever seen anyone play a guitar like a ukulele....especially a guitar that huge.
Ed really is a great guitarist
Eddie you rule 👊🏼

Oh darling
Diggin up some old Pearl Jam bout now.
How do these guys perform together over the internet? Anytime I try with my friends the slight lag makes it impossible.
The great thing about the second song is how flexible it is for a beautiful bass line.
♡
buongiorno beatifull family i love you
Thanks i'm waiting for the european tour 2021? I hope because you rapresenting my young life but also my future and present life
Who the hell put a thumbs down?
It was a mistake, they were supposed to give thumbs up but mistakenly pressed thumbs down and didn't realize it.
if you gave a thumbs down you are a sad human being
Keep in mind.... there are people voting for Trump as well. You' d never know. These freaks live among us...
Benny Friis it’s people like you that will continue the divide and can’t be human enough to even realize that. That Sir is what is so sad! Wake up!!!
