Damn I'm sorry bro or girl to hear that about your parents but even if they didn't accept it shouldn't matter as long as you're truly happy and no longer pretending to be who you are not and being happy and no one opinion should matter but you own I hope you're doing great and your parents have finally accepted but even if they didn't it's okay:)
Same, it’s just most rappers now only mumble about fucking, money, and drugs. But Em’s music actually has emotion, clever writing, and a message. It’s also completely organic, he doesn’t have songwriters do all of the work for him.
I’m 52 years old, addiction has brought me to the darkest places you can be and still be living, DARK, really dark. I’m listening to this to find the strength and motivation to get back up again, all the bridges been burned, all the roads on fire, and I’m gonna have to cross them and walk them to get back, and I’m scared but I’m gonna do it cause I’m not staying here anymore. If your in the same boat I hope you’re with me cause I’m definitely with you.
This song inspires me to stay away from alcohol and drugs, and focus on the positive things in life.. and no matter how hard things get or how others test me, to keep my eyes ahead, my head up and pull the stars from the sky! Amen!!
He's basically telling us to shoot for the stars/moon and stop worrying about what others think and/or are doing because that's what everyone does, just focus on yourself and stop looking and paying attention to what pthers are doing. YOU/EVRYONE ELSE wants to shoot for the moon but they're too busy looking/admiring the stars when you should be doing all those things for/to yourself!
This is 1st time I m witnessing how a song (someone's life experience) can change others lives , comment section is full of ppl who have dropped the idea of suicide n gave themselves another chance after listening to this song . Eminem you have unknowingly played god role in so many ppl lives. Thank you helping the world. ♥️
Didn’t quite get the song when it first came out, but now i do now i do . It’s never too late to help out a brother who’s fighting in silence. Respect to Marshal man 🙏
I always admired this alter ego thing with Marshall. I like how he forms up this character slim shady who is completely sadistic an insane and violent to express his emotions about problems in his life. I read that he wasn't very violent as a person so slim shady took over an that's how expressed himself. through his art. he showed people the darker side of Marshall Mathers. he left his, fans with all that bitterness in his music. then he finally kills slim shady in When I'm Gone. if you actually pay attention to his lyrics you'd know that. that's,when he brought out Eminem. I see Em as the ego who got his fans attention pretty much saying I been through a lot I have demons an I'm still dealing with them but I'm better an can show all of you how to better yourselves. (this song)
to me he's three rappers, Eminem, Slim Shady, & Marshall Mathers, as you say the Shady is his alter ego, the Marshall Mathers the real him, Eminem the rapper that got game. Slim Shady = Without Me, Just Lose It, My Name Is... Marshall Mathers for When I'm Gone, Marshall Mathers (really ? hahaha), Mocking Bird, Hailie's song, Cleanin Out My Closet, My Mom, Brain Damage... And Eminem for the old him (Biterphobia, Armageddon - maybe in Shady ?), the him that is married to the game (Till I Collapse, the whole Infinite album, Like Toy Soldiers, Lose Yourself, The Way I Am, Sing For The Moment, Soldier, Stan, Superman and so on, you got my point). When you listen carefully indeed you have all of the extent of his life sung and that's why he's my favorite rapper. He explained every fucked up thing that happened to him in a violent, pure way. He's the realest I have ever heard along with R.A, in My Mom, Brain Damage the violence exposed is horrid, and Insane is giving me chills everytime. To me it's even more graphic than a scene I would be actually seeing. I like how he says "Relapse" was "Eeeh", it's actually an album where he revealed lots of stuff, for someone that is keeping skeletons in his closet, maybe he got uncomfortable by this. He's a genius that did his own psychanalysis through rapping and that's amazing. Anyway, mode fangirl off now.

This song has a special place in my heart. I was born and brought up in a Catholic family in Texas and my boyfriend was born and brought up in a strict Hindu family back in India. He moved to the states for college around four years ago. We met in class and instantly fell for each other. The difference in our races created many obstacles for us. Even our parents stood between us because of the religious differences. But we stuck to it and fought all those battles together and today we are the happiest of couples. He plays this song all day and I had to read the lyrics to understand the meaning of it. I hope we get to live with each other forever. Lots of love to all our Indian bros n sis who are in search for love. Wait patiently, true love will surely find its way to you ❤️🇺🇸🇮🇳❤️❤️❤️

@@AFCA-vn9bl are you for real. This is considered one of his most inspirational and better songs. If you are looking for his worst song "we made you" is probably the one to beat. However Relapse has gained a cult following, but to call "Not Afraid" one of his worst songs is like calling a Golden Retriever ugly.

Whenever I'm sad, i listen to Eminem. He uplifts my mood.
Yeah
Yuh
Same, it’s just most rappers now only mumble about fucking, money, and drugs. But Em’s music actually has emotion, clever writing, and a message. It’s also completely organic, he doesn’t have songwriters do all of the work for him.

@@sloane.2747 mumblerapping huh👺
Its amazing how he writes really deep stuff and still manages to connect words like this true wordsmith.
Amen!!

cool
He's basically telling us to shoot for the stars/moon and stop worrying about what others think and/or are doing because that's what everyone does, just focus on yourself and stop looking and paying attention to what pthers are doing. YOU/EVRYONE ELSE wants to shoot for the moon but they're too busy looking/admiring the stars when you should be doing all those things for/to yourself!
Noobfest it did to me as well i been through some struggling in my life but i think im finally getting there

(this song)
shady came back in Rap God.
+meh rare._e.t I know. I was using this song as an example
to me he's three rappers, Eminem, Slim Shady, & Marshall Mathers, as you say the Shady is his alter ego, the Marshall Mathers the real him, Eminem the rapper that got game.

Listening to this song and starting my life over. Just can't keep living this way. Thank you Eminem

This is considered one of em’s worst songs
@@AFCA-vn9bl are you for real. This is considered one of his most inspirational and better songs. If you are looking for his worst song "we made you" is probably the one to beat. However Relapse has gained a cult following, but to call "Not Afraid" one of his worst songs is like calling a Golden Retriever ugly.
petrolhead0387 The lyrics are corny in this song. I love em but this song is definitely not one of his best songs

Ugh, once again, the Illuminati was an enlightenment group in 1776 that was for women's rights and against governmental oppression! :/ It is NOT a secret society bent on controlling the world. I love this song. It's about Marshall overcoming his drug addiction (drugs like vicodin) and offering a hand out to anyone who has a drug addiction saying that he wants to help them.
RiDiculous2Ks also the fact that he grew up in area lot and area he singing it to tell the people that he's not afraid to stand up and help to get out
