Walt's ego is out of control. You're right, he's so used to being the leader of Jesse and being the MVP of the operation, the fact that Gus orchestrated this whole thing to boost up Jesse and get him separated from Walt just totally got under Walt's skin to the point he has to get the attention back on himself even if it's going to put himself back in danger.
Daddy Walt is worried about Jesse but once he knows he is ok and hopefully won't get killed after all he is so confused as to what the plan is and he feels a lack of control over things and his ego can't deal with that
19:56 “I’m not coming back…you got my son drinkin a Beneke Mug?!?!” The level of disdain in your eyes when you delivered that line proves how invested you are in this series lmao. I can’t stop laughing.
I remember now, thinking this was one of the very best episodes of the show. I might still feel that way... but will have to re-watch along with you guys longer, just to be sure.
After you finish breaking bad you have to check out Better Call Saul you get a real good back story on Saul and the cartel. Also watch El Camino and learn about what all Jessy goes through
He something he not & he got bodies so lets agree to disagree cuz y'all gon see 😂😂😂 Btw : its never explained but Gus did it not only to break apart Walt & Jesse's relationship but mainly to get him off the drugs & see what hes capable of doing as a sober thinking person!!!!! Im 37 & grew up around street gangs under the 6 & somehow at a young age became the leader & center of attention of my own clique without even trying to be one & to all my homies that were all in a gang already except for myself yet they respect & listened to me & rode for me long before they would ever ride for the "oath" they took for the nation ✡️💯 then i joined the military academy in high school & rised to the rank of captain in less than a year , then a few years later i went to prison & carried myself in there the proper way enough to lead my own clique all over again in prison without any issues , then when i finally got out of prison & started to finally lay low from my previous life mainly because most of the ppl i lead in the streets either died or became snakes but yet i still had enough left in me to at least become a supervisor at the factory that my PO stuck me at so my point being , some folks a followers & very few are leaders !!!! The difference between leaders is some will always abuse their authority & try to control their underlings over fear but that will never be respected by their followers because they don't know the game!!!! A real tru leader punishes their followers only when absolutely needed but always praises them whenever they do good because it makes them actually want to earn your respect & make u feel like a proud father to them!!!! That's exactly what Gus is trying to do with Jesse at this point considering that he knows he can't kill him so hes teaching Jesse how to actually learn how to respect his elders & employer without projecting fear or using violence to get his way👌💯 Only a true boss or leader understands everything i just said & actually knows the difference & why respect is more powerful than fear is !!!!! I can account about 20 obituaries that will attest to everything i literally just poured my heart out to on the Internet just now 🙄🙏 🕊️
They see that Walt is verbally abusive and has too much control over Jesse so Gus is going to pry them apart by making Jesse feel like he' a valuable member of the team because he is. Jesse is capable of running the lab without Walt and Walt with his overblown ego has become a big problem for Gus.
While I agree Jesse is very capable, he CANNOT run the lab alone. He most likely could with Gale or another helper with chemistry knowledge, but NOT alone. If something was to go wrong scientifically, Jessie would most likely not be able to notice it much less fix it. Also, the only reason Jessie is very capable (Walt's formula) is because of Walt teaching him. P.S. However, Jessie could get to the level of being the main guy in the lab, but he would need more chemistry knowledge first.
True but he also did it because Jesse is a liability if he kept partying the way he was and they can't kill him because of Walt so they manipulated him to feel valuable and Gus saw what Walt said he saw in Jesse, he is loyal and does what he says he can trust Jesse and Gus realized that, especially after he spent time with Mike.
Mike's little "You are not the guy" bit is etched into my brain
“Youre not that guy, pal”
I cannot hear that part of the episode without hearing the beat of the meme!
Yeah Gus finnessed Jessie into a little confidence by setting up the whole “robbery” situation. Everybody just manipulates my dog.
Season 4 is a chess game between Gus & Walt, and the chessboard is Jesse's soul.
Jesse is just a pawn, he’s not the whole board. Jesse isn’t the only way to get to Walter.
Damn. Well said
Man, every time I see that scene with Walter drunkenly talking to Hank about Gale, my inner monologue voice starts yelling uncontrollably 🤣🤣🤣
Wasn’t a smart idea AT ALL🤦🏾

LOVED this reaction. This entire show is run on Walter’s ego and Hank’s sharp eyes.
Daddy Walt is worried about Jesse but once he knows he is ok and hopefully won't get killed after all he is so confused as to what the plan is and he feels a lack of control over things and his ego can't deal with that
One of my favorite endings to an episode ever "Since when do vegans eat fried chicken?" Chills.
Let’s you know it’s about to get REAL!
That dope-ass song you guys like is 1977 by Ana Tijoux. I really like it too!
