Jade works as a character, but everyone calling her a queen, savage, badass etc need to admit that she is *not* the kind of person someone needs in their life
Your waifu drinks Gaytorade Sue from Glee is hilarious and I always looked forward to seeing her on screen. But I’d stay away from her if she was a real person
Christina Marie right?! By liking her people are glorifying bullying. Her stand would hate having someone like her in real life. It's Liz Gillies charisma.
The whole loving Jade and hating Tori thing reminded me a lot of the "I'm not like other girls" argument where a rebellious girl is automatically loved for being quirky, different and sarcastic while a normal girl who is nice and generally unproblematic is villified just because she's a normal girly girl with a less defined or memorable personality. Tori did some heinous things in the show yes, but nobody seemed interested in admitting Jade was just as, if not much worse than Tori.
@jeonghan is a prince Again, "I'm an asshole but at least I admit it" is not a defense. It's basically saying "I'm an asshole, AND self-righteous!" People who push that ain't slick.
i think a lot of people came after her because of the beef Ariana and Victoria had behind the scenes. tori was rude to her so they took it out on her cuz ari stans don’t play around lmfao
I think Robbie uses Rex to reflect his insecurities. A lot of times, Rex is insulting Robbie and since Robbie plays Rex, then we would think that Robbie actually thinks those things about himself.
the parts i notice the most are basically just robbie making rex make sexualized comments/weird shit about women and y'know that's not really excusable even if he hates himself lol
Yes, I mean I thin she's more interesting character wise but she isn't a good person. I like Andre the most, they tried to just make him the token black guy but they ended up making him one of the most interesting characters. Also people need to stop treating Trina so bad, she just had big ambitions and knew what she wanted and how to get it (even though it wasn't always good-)
bxtterfly Beck choose to kiss tori, cats bf choose to kiss tori. She didn’t make them do anything, they could’ve easily said no. Putting all the blame on tori is such a cop out. Let’s see what jade has done: -poured coffee on tori on her very first day -tried to get tori in trouble by faking a black eye -gave her coffee from the trash -stole her blood so she would miss a the part in a play -constantly insulted and bullied Tori unprovoked. And most of that from from the first season.
bxtterfly bruh Tori kissing Beck on the pilot was acting and they all knew that it was an acting, it was an acting exercise. Tori was getting back at Jade because of what Jade did first. Fast-forward to the time Beck & Jade were broken up and Beck wanted to kiss Tori but she wouldn’t do out of the respect for Jade.
I mean, Jade is an interesting and entertaining character to watch. But yeah, people saying Tori is a horrible person and that Jade was right to bully her is so incorrect. Like, objectively, Jade is a horrible human being. Tori went out of her way to be nice to Jade, even refused to date Beck because she considered Jade a friend.
@jeonghan is a prince How the fuck was she pretending to be nice?? She's literally went out of her way to do stuff for Jade. Like help her out on her play when she was being a bitch to her and refused to date Beck several times because she didn't want to hurt Jade... Did I miss when that became being a fake friend? The fuck? Jade was fake as hell. She used people when it was beneficial and still be a bitch to them. Tori is a better friend than Jade ever was. Tori helped her friends with their problems and tried to give them advice when they needed it. Examples: when Cat wore the blonde wig and was pretending to be someone she's not, when Andre had caught feelings for Jade, when Robbie needed help for his show. Tori gained nothing from helping them, because fake friends will only be nice to gain something. Tori never benefitted from those instances. Check yourself, Hun.
I mean, looking back - Tori still can be quite rude (like, sis really kissed cat’s boyfriend, i-) Andre’s probably the most unproblematic character (then probably Cat).
Jade would've played havoc in Andre's life. She would've demanded to sing co-lead with him--all of the time. She would've sucked up his free time. And, she probably would've been abusive to him. Someone as anti-social and negative as Jade deserves to end up alone.
The one scene with her dad explains Jade's whole personality. Also I agree that iCarly was better than Victorious. I think it is because it was the first kids' sitcom that was so blunt. iCarly literally commented on everything that kid shows were afraid to comment on. They had episodes on bad jobs, bad relationships, bad friendships, bad parenting, beauty pageants, crazy pop stars, prison, kidnapping, crazy fans, wild parties, cheating, falling in love, meeting your idol and them not liking you, running away from home, getting hurt trying to save the friends you love, embarrassing yourself live, being taken advantage of, etc. Kids shows did not talk about those things.
I wouldn't say the first. I was bornin in 1991 and there were kids sitcoms I watched that did that. For kids in a certain age group it was probably their first, though.
I really dislike it when people GIF or screenshot scenes where Jade treats Beck horribly (and vice versa). like the scene where Jade was telling Beck he can only have "ugly" girl friends and a bunch of people were like "omg this is relationship goals"! I feel like their relationship was kind of glamorized, so many young people think it's ok to treat your partner like that... It would be a different story if they showed how Jade and Beck started out toxic but then throughout the series helped each other grow. I haven't watched every episode of Victorious so I may be wrong, but to me they were just forever annoying together.
Honestly the whole "beck let it happen" argument sounds like men being sexually harrassed and people tell them they're 'lucky',get it?beck didnt like it
jeonghan is a prince I’ve seen people defend her as a person a lot. Basically saying that all of her bad actions are justified because of some dumb excuse.
YES, Tori IS a nice girl. A portion of the fanbase insist she isn't, while defending Trina and using their encounters as proof that Trina is secretly an angel and Tori is an abusive jerk. They have BOTH been awful to each other at times because they are sisters, but in comparison Tori is a much better sister than Trina, she cares about her feelings and has done things solely to benefit Trina. But people wanted to cherry pick and choose Tori's not so angelic moments to paint her as the bad person.
THIS. everyone loves to bring up tori messing up a few times but never bring up when the other character messed up too. none of them were perfect, they all did something that was unacceptable.
i feel like people sag they don’t like tori is because she wasn’t an interesting character to watch, she didn’t really have that much depth to her character, and i think that’s why people preferred jade because she was more interesting as a character(not trying to say she was a good person)
@@nnnn-sc2im Yeah I've seen that argument too. "She's bland with no personality." That's debatable, she may not be as quirky and unique as the rest of the cast, which really stands out, but I have found some traits in her. Characters make fun of her for being prissy and she does kind of have that air to her, she is a pacifist girly girl who is super caring to her friends but also quick to freak out about shit, not to mention a huge fucking drama queen Lmao. Quick to jealousy, determined, stubborn, vindictive but not in the psycho way Jade is. However, it can be hard to notice among characters who, use their mean side through a puppet, is extremely dumb but lovable, is crazy and feared by the school population, is funny and musically talented and supportive wingman, is a typical hot dude who is usually a voice of reason and has a weird dynamic with the psycho chick, is super narcissistic yet bad at everything she does, etc etc. The other characters seem to pop more than her. Also, i was talking about a certain video in this comment and a particular small side of the fandom. People have actually made compilations of the times Tori has done things less than nice to Trina, or over-analyzations of how Trina only behaves this egotistical, hard-headed way because of her family. While treating Trina like a victim, they will put down Tori. It is related to how they feel she is boring, because when someone dislikes something, sometimes they want to believe the worst thing about it when its probably not true. So, they'll rip Tori to shreds while also pitying "Poor Trina" for being abused, when Trina is the most selfish and rude out of the two, and Tori is a stark contrast to that. After all, she fought to keep Trina in school AND save her confidence by pretending she was gonna be the one kicked out.
bxtterfly “getting touchy with him” she was literally trying to wipe the coffee off his shirt 😭 and that was before tori knew beck had a girlfriend, shit if i was tori i would have done a lot more than kiss beck, and besides the kiss tori and beck had was apart of the play they were doing AND beck could have easily said no to the kiss but what did he say? he said “let’s do it”
growingupwithdisney she fixed some issues with Tori and fixing those issue with Tori helped her a bit with Beck. But I do agree there’s still some things she could have improved on.
This show was really dark (of course it was, since it was made by Dan Schneider). Tori and Trina's mom was cheating on their dad with his partner, Jade had a rocky relationship with her dad and no word on her mom, Cat and Robbie clearly have some mental problems, and the Vega Sisters were more or less neglected by their parents, especially when it came to Trina. I still love the show, but looking back on it now, it was dark AF.
The sad thing is that, it could've been a better show than it was. It had the most talented principle cast of any of Schneider's shows. But, it had, like his other shows, a thread of thoughtless and cruelty.
Somebody had to say it. Jade was absolutely insufferable. She was toxic and mean to everyone. People say "she's a good character" doesn't mean she isn't absolutely terrible. She took her anger out on everyone and for no reason. Whenever it seemed like Jade was getting better she'd get worse. I disliked her and Cat so much.
@Selozar I hate when people say this because Tori didn't even do anything to deserve what Jade had done to her in the first episode before she and Beck kissed. Jade stole her blood, she tried to make Tori have an allergic reaction, bullied her incessantly and then forces Tori to help her with her relationship drama. I honestly can't understand how someone can say Tori is the worst when Jade exists.
Deadass, and the fact that people compare Tori kissing Cat’s ex to Jade shaving off hair, stealing blood bags, and literally being a psychopath is beyond me 💀 Jade may have been entertaining to watch but she was the worst and I can’t believe people still praise her for her toxic actions.
She's so toxic to Beck. She threw a rock at him. Please make a vid on them. Sis has mommy and daddy issues, and I get that, but she needs to get therapy. She, imo is worse than Sam. Especially because Sam was younger when icarly started than Jade was when Victorious started. Sam is primarily physically aggressive and Jade was emotionally and physically She's a cool character and I do really like her (I definitely had a crush on her when I was little) but she's not the best person. She tries to solve everything with aggression. It's concerning how many girls I see saying they're exactly like Jade now. Rude, painfully insecure, aggressive, possessive, controlling, and straight up toxic towards everyone around you? That's not who you want to be. And she's not "a top" because of the way she acts. She's just a jerk. She, I believe was "friends" with Cat before she wa with Beck, but she considers Cat as a pet.
fibromiteready2fight I never understood why people thought Jade being an unapologetic asshole AND abuser means she’s automatically a top. Umm, that is not someone I want have any power over me in a vulnerable setting. People really cherry pick the people whose behavior can be excused because of past trauma and who can’t. Why does Jade being “a bisexual icon” (God, I hate everyone) make her behavior okay. I get people want representation but you still have to be critical of it.
@@arcadeganna6916 do you mean his own toxicity? Yeah no, the dude definitely did a few things wrong. I didn't focus on him because I was only talking about her. But he was way too okay with random girls that clearly like him hanging all over him. He needed to tell more of them no, instead of somewhat entertaining it. His whole "It makes no sense for you to be upset because clearly I love you" thing was trash and annoying. I know that sometimes the aggressive things Jade did were in response to Beck's fuck ups, but the violence wasn't ok. They were both incredibly toxic in the relationship. But I was talking specifically about Jade, not the relationship.
i totally agree. i like jade’s character but they were toxic to each other. beck never listened to her and made her feel horrible. jade was just not a good girlfriend. i think if beck was better to her then the relationship would’ve been less toxic.
I really didn’t like how they tried to glorify beck and jade for 4 seasons. Kids watch this show and all they take away is the negatively. Like how was this one of the most popular ships in the show?!?? Just Bc 2 ppl are attractive doesn’t mean they make a good couple. Beauty fades, character doesn’t. When beck and jade are old, will they still be screaming at each other and being violent?? Tbh, a lot of dan Schneider’s shows have really toxic relationships.... which is a big problem. I feel like he has more toxic relationships than not. Does he even know how to write healthy relationships?? Even the way he writes friendships are iffy and not realistic
Having a bad past doesn't excuse being mean. Edit 1: lots of people seem to forget that Tori kissing Beck was for a play but Im 100% sure that this comment thread is gonna become a warzone
I agree. Having a bad past doesn't excuse things like having Tori drink coffee from a container found in a dumpster: or endanger Robbie by stealing his blood; or endanger Robbie a second time by having him give ice cream to children whom he doesn't know--the mothers severely beat him, and Jade laughed when he told about it. Jade West used her bad past as an excuse for her nastiness.
It was also the trend to hate on Victoria Justice all these years so people would get hard on seeing the hot goth girl being mean to her rival Tori Vega
people hating on Victoria justice even after all these years is so ridiculous. Its cause of the pathetic Ariana grande fans. I saw a comment once saying "who cares about making fun of Victoria justice, shes irrelevant!". Like apparently being irrelevant means you get to bully someone according to the arinanators or whatever they're called.
@@epichighslowsofhighschoolf3074 I know it’s speculation but I feel like the reason why she’s only starting to make her way into the spotlight now is because of Ari fans. They always say “chill it’s just a joke” but you can tell they genuinely mean what they say about her :c
Jade totally reminds me of those insecure girls that would give you death glares for talking to her boyfriend even though your relationship is 100% platonic with no chance of a romance between you and him.....especially if its painfully obvious that your whole peer group sees you’ll never end up with him...she’ll see you as a threat and glare at you.
Saying that someone’s behavior reminds you of something you’ve noticed in real life...is not a point. That’s like saying a misshapen red dodgeball reminds me of an apple isn’t a good point because an apple isn't sports equipment.
hey yall, here as some times stamps for this video is anyone wanted them jade and tori : 11:13 jade and cat : 14:31 jade and robbie : 15:44 jade and beck : 18:14 jade and andre : 21:19
@@harriyanna are you going to talk about how t.v. makes most minority girls get with white boys and rarely does it happen for black boys to get a white girl or a girls at all.
Remember when Jade tried to kill Tori by making her donate 3 PINTS of blood? And it was all because she wanted to play the main role in "Steamboat Susie"
Exactly the jade stuff is just like the azula stuff. She literally stole 3 pints of bl*od from tori for fun. When the show came back to Netflix people were all of a sudden putting jade on top this pedestal just because she was a better singer than tori. People literally crucified tori for every little thing but glorified it when jade did something more horrible
Idk what's going on with the Azula stuff exactly, but for me, Azula is (a complete badass but also) pitiable at the core of it (not that Jade isn't, but Azula's somehow more understandable for me). Please tell me people aren't putting Azula on a pedestal. You can feel sympathy for her and like her as a character, but Azula is not a good person. As for Tori, I never understood where her hate was coming from, when Jade was straight up cruel sometimes.
@@joyc.e.7511 oh there are TONS of comments and videos about Azula being a “good” person because she was a misunderstood child who needed love and downplay her atrocities because she didn’t know any better... When you try to explain that her past isn’t an excuse for her actions,a lot of Azula fans will accuse you of not seeing Azula as a pitiable child and will insult you 🙄
@@k.d3983 I don't understand the need to paint her as "good". That's not necessary. I hesitate to call her pure evil, because she's not what I consider that (especially at 14 years old), but neither is she absolved of her sins because of what she's been through. She can strive to be (or get the support to become) better in the future, but what she's done should not be downplayed because the hurt she caused was REAL and is never going away. (She struck how many people with lightening?). I see her as a child more than when I was ACTUALLY a child (I thought she was pure evil back then, so when she broke down, it kinda haunted me), but I also fully believe understanding is not absolving, as so many people confuse it as.
Dane Cranberry honestly idk how jade even had friends and a boyfriend. tori shouldn’t of forgiven her but that’s just who she is. i get she was supposed to be a bitch but jade is just an awful person
@@arcadeganna6916 Nobody said she couldn't have flaws. That's a part of being a three dimensional character. People have a problem with the way her toxic behavior is praised and excused. Also, most good stories have these types of characters undergo serious development, usually in the form of an arc. c:
@@arcadeganna6916 Well like I said- it's not like she's *not* allowed to be toxic. I'm talking about the teenage girls who will say she's a "queen", "relatable" when she is very much apparently toxic. Her character is amusing though, so they're mostly right about all of the stuff they say. It's not a matter of writing just that *some* people genuinely don't believe she's a bad person 👁👄👁
That means they like Liz, not jade. Technically if they think “jade” is pretty they really mean Liz. (In regards to her being pretty/attractive, cuz my pan ass totally agrees lol)
I feel like Jade is the exact endpoint of my okay-ness with the "We stan this character because she's a white girl who's horrible" phenomenon. So, I like Jade well enough in the realm of fiction, and I find her funny, but every character even slightly worse than her I can't stand. The only example I can come up with off the top of my head is Linda Monroe from the musical Black Friday; she makes fun of another woman for being abused by her husband, she actively thinks the poor matter less than the rich, and there's still a lot of people like "Yes! Iconic! Sass queen!" I'm not mad at people for enjoying her, but I question why niceness is apparently so limiting that some people fall in love with characters who are irredeemably horrible. (It's like reading "x Reader" fanfiction where the reader is really, really mean and the character is still in love with them and I'm just there like "Is this Part of It for you guys? You're looking to be told that it's okay if you're an utter monster? Because okay, but...idk...") The polar opposite is, like, the live action Dora the Explorer, who I adored because she's so nice.
A lot of people say jade is only jealous because a lot of girls flirt with beck, but she's mean for other reasons too: -She stole tori's blood for a role - She ruined tori's prome' (Yes i know she got her play cancelled, but she could have just worked it out. Im sure tori would have let her put on a play at the end or something) - Everyone claims it tori's fault that trina is treated badly and excluded, but jade literally kicks out Trina, and bullies her all the time. -Ruined tori's first day, and when tori gets revenge, ya'll are mad - Faked an injury, got tori 3 weeks of detetion Heres major bad things tori has done - Kissed Cats boyfriend - Made andre miss his grandpa's birthday Tori was a boring character, but she was nicer. Period.
"I'm sure Tori would have worked something out" THANK YOU. Honestly if Jade hadnt gone to Tori screaming at her face and threatening her, Tori would have probably happy to do something to make Jade's one man show happen that night. She did it before in Wok Star, even made it so that Jade could have it happen exactly the way she wanted, literally no doubt she would have done it again. If Jade had been nicer, but she wasn't. One trait of the show is Tori isn't a god damn push over who's (completely) scared of Jade like everyone else. Tori actually knows how to stand up for herself and not immediately submit to Jade's temper tantrums, _especially_ when Jade is being unnecessarily rude to her. Tori doesn't owe Jade shit just because Jade acts like a god damn child about it, yet she always gives Jade the time of day when she's acting nice or vulnerable (Wok Star and that time Jade and Beck broke up in one episode in season 1) because Tori wanted to be friends with her but unlike Cat, has enough self respect to not let Jade stomp all over her. Like this is the point, it's extremely consistent to how Tori acts towards Jade. It's the point and it flies over everyones heads. Ya'll are legit idiots if you think Tori said "no" and made her prome happen just to spite Jade lmfao.
@@gaslightgatekeepgirlboss6321 BRO I SAID THE SAME THING! I’m glad someone else agrees with me!!! If Jade didn’t go up to her screaming, slamming, and pushing her cart away, Tori would’ve probably worked something out to and let Jade sing at her prom. I feel like Jade gets mad at Tori sometimes because Tori doesn’t let her walk all over her
@@foureyes1850 late reply but I'm so glad you agree 😭 i feel like people forget that just because Jade has a valid reason to be upset, her being upset isn't a valid reason to act the way she does. Similar to how Tori being upset isn't a valid reason to do what she did in the Cat's New Boyfriend episode, but at least Tori learned her lesson in that episode. Jade consistently acts like a spoilt brat and yet people give her passes all the time, it's VERY strange. Honestly just makes me think people who think Jade's reaction to her play getting cancelled by screaming and demanding Tori to submit to her is somehow okay are either equally spoilt or too cowardly to stand up for themselves. Super weird.
People hated on Tori for the same reasons they loved Jade. They hate Tori when shes mean but love it when Jade is mean when Jade is actually worse. Jade is mean to everyone even Cat, the friend she knew the longest and was the closest too. Tori isn't even a fav character of mine and she did shitty things that annoyed me but she wasnt a striaght up bully. People glamorize mean white girls all the time.
Honestly I don’t know why all of the kids at Hollywood arts were scared of her. All she did was yell and they still ran from her. If she was real and I went to Hollywood arts I would’ve started swinging on her. Also I think you should’ve mentioned how she treated Trina. Great video
jeonghan is a prince True but it seems kind of unrealistic how the entire school was scared of her I feel like they should’ve made someone give her a taste of her own medicine
@@venitaprincess5024 she did throw scissors with scary accuracy. She probably harmed a lot of people but since its a kids show it was never mentioned or truly shown. She does fight Tori where she does start throwing her around & making Tori fall & flail
Everyone in these comments tryna say "jade was a good character not a good person :/" as if all the victorious characters weren't all one dimensional and annoying. She never develops. Her backstory was bland and her insecurity and daddy issues where the most annoying excuse for her actions. Her bullying and abuse was romanticized to be funny. Not to be a complex character flaw.
I'm so sick of people who use the "tragic backstory" of every character who's a toxic piece of shit as a justification for their abusive behavior. And it's not just Jade; Sam Puckett, Helga Pataki, and...pretty much every MCU villain gets that treatment, not only from the works themselves, but from the fans (like these aren't the same people who shit on Disney princesses like Snow White and Cinderella, who also have abusive families, but remain good people). It's not a fucking excuse for being a shithead to other people who have done *NOTHING* to you. That's one thing I like about Bojack Horseman; he's a terrible person who also had a bad childhood, but is *never* let off the hook because of it.
cozylikerosie Yeah never said she was an angel, she’s very flawed but in my opinion her stealing Tori’s blood was a wacky antic the writers wrote her to do in a comedic light and tone. The kissing someone’s boyfriend is just too real and there was nothing funny about it.
gvirusqueen stealing her blood out of jealousy is far worse than kissing someone’s boyfriend. Jade was still with beck, so why should she still try to hurt Tori??
I like Jade because I like mean girls with nasty attitudes in media because of their snarky dialogue but I recognize that she’s not a character we should try to embody and real people who act like this are toxic.
Gabriel Wilkerson SAME! Mean girls are my favorite characters! They’re so entertaining, but I would never want to be friends with one in real life. And the show really should’ve went into her relationship with her father and her home life.
I completely agree. I can handle Jade because the plot makes it clear she is bitter and unjustified in her harshness but I cannot tolerate Sam from iCarly because of how she’s rarely punished for the frankly cruel way she treats Freddie.
I've always hated Jade and when I found out there's a lot of people who love her I was like... WHY????? is it cause she's the "edgy mean white girl????" seriously what's up with fandoms hyping up the mean white girls and hating on the characters getting bullied...
Y'all ever notice too that when Rex has his lines, Matthew Bennett (Robbie) would mouth his lines? It's a small, weird thing that I noticed watching Victorious
I'm glad I'm not the only one who disliked Jade. She was such a toxic, and abusive gf to Beck, and I'm upset they got back together. I thought them breaking up would've been a moment of growth for her, buuuut that was quickly shattered. Beck deserved so much better. She was such a bad friend that it makes me wonder why they even had her in their friend group. I do like Elizabeth Gillies, and I think she did a fantastic job portraying Jade though.
The thing about Jade that pissed me off the most was when in Tori gets Stuck, Jade took away Tori's blood that was supposed to be used to help Robbie, and why? Because she was upset about not getting the lead in a play! A HIGH SCHOOL play! You can't always have the roles that you want, get over it! It's how the acting world works. Seriously, she could've damaged Tori's health BIG time! If this is how she acts in school, how is she gonna do in Hollywood? She could easily get blackballed.
I would people say she dosent deserve friends but if she didn’t have no friends and her family hates and so does her boyfriend and she’s insecure and her dad doesn’t support her dream. She most likely could’ve committed suicide and if I had to deal with that then I would’ve too. So yes I would
Nah; I used to have a friend who was similar to the "toxic girl" characters common in Schnieder shows when I was in junior high (granted, she wasn't white and was a nerd, not as much a Goth or tomboy). She was really toxic to me and our other close friend, but especially to me because I was more of a "girly girl" in junior high (and now I'm nonbinary; it's weird). And yeah, she had trouble at home, too (she was of Indian descent and had the archetypal "tiger parents"), so I get why she was the way she was. It was still a miserable friendship and at this point, I realize how much it was a waste of energy to spend time with someone I felt I had to walk on eggshells around. Granted, this friend didn't stay this way, as I think is often the case with people who are like that at a young age, because they catch on that their behavior makes people dislike them, or they just realize they want to be better. All that being said, no I would not want such a friendship again.
@@bubbles4897 I don’t I rarely even make new friends because I stick with my friends that I knew for years plus I’m barley in middle school I had to look up the meaning of befriend because I’m dumb 🙃

I feel sorry for younger lesbians and bi women/femmes; at least I had action girls with hearts of gold (like Trini from Power Rangers and Esmeralda from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame) to awaken my sexuality.
*Tori kisses Jade and Cat’s boyfriend* Everyone: Tori is so annoying and such a terrible person. *Jade almost kills Tori, treats Beck like a punching bag, breaks someone’s windshield for whatever reason, and bullies everyone* Everyone: Jade is such a queen and a savage I love it.
To one degree or another, all of Dan Schneider's series lack warmth, depth, and creativity. A better executive producer, like David E. Kelley or Donald Bellisario, would've put actual thought into those series.
Tori was hella nice in that episode when she was on a “date” with Beck. She wasn’t even friends with Jade and decided to not pursue him because Jade still liked Beck.
Unpopular Opinion: Victorious fandom is very toxic. When Jade is mean, they call her a queen. When Tori is mean, they just hate her more. When people say they hate Tori, they say its because she's simple 🤷. Also they hate Victoria Justice just because of her bullying when she was younger in Zoey 101 and because she apparently is jealous of Ariana Grande. Like she's a human being, all human beings get jealous. As long as she isn't completely discrediting or being mean to Ariana, she can be jealous if she wants.
Jade is a nasty, manipulative, controlling and condescending character who’s only put on a pedestal because Liz Gillies is gorgeous. It’s not cute or funny to take your insecurities on people. (Yes I’m aware this takes place in a fictional high school, not that deep)
24:11 That really shows how your childhood and how your parents treat/raise you effects the person you become and your relationships with other people. Jade wasn’t raised on having a good relationship with people, so all her relationships with everyone is bad. Her dad was also judging her on her piercings and hair and just the person that she is. Which shows how she judges other people, by the stuff she said about the group during the Bade break up scene. The same can also be said with Sam from iCarly, the only person she had a good relationship with was with Carly, and same for Jade with Andre
Yeah Jade was rude and narcissistic and 9 times out of 10 nobody would correct her for it. She was a BULLY 🤢 And then on top of that, Beck wanted to get back together with her and I'm like ..... she's literally toxic. but Beck is to blame in certain situations as well.
harriyanna hook Exactly, like I can only think of like 2 from Disney. Angela and Shawn and Liv and Holden. There were some hinted at, but not 100% official.
HARRI THIS IS IT! Thank you for saying this. Beck and Jade had a toxic, codependent relationship and I always felt, even as a 12-16 year old, I saw Beck as being abused by Jade. She controls him and sometimes he had to police her behavior...Jade was so vile to him.
FINALLY SOMEBODY SAID IT!!! I agreed with every point you made. I hated Jade and her relationship with Beck as a kid too (the endorphins that rushed thru me when they first broke up are unmatched to this day). People really still try to find excuses for her bs just bc they like her 🙄 she's not even written that great,,, Liz Gillies just did amazing with the crap she was given LOL. It's honestly so dangerous for a show marketed towards kids/teens to have toxic ass relationships like that where the abuser never faces any real/long lasting consequences so yes I will keep dragging her idc
While it's true that Fallon is a grown woman, let's not excuse Jade being an adolescent. Even from sixteen to nineteen years old, you should know that it's wrong to 1.Humiliate someone, and then pour coffee on them. 2.Give someone coffee to drink, from a container that you found in a dumpster. 3.Write a cuss word to an autograph-seeking child. 4.Threaten people with scissors. 5.Frame someone for hitting you in the eye. 6.Steal someone's blood because you didn't get the lead role in the play. 7.Run over a classmate with your motorcar. 8.Throw a rock at your boyfriend. 9.Threaten to throw a hammer at someone. and 10.Get a member of your "friend group" injured by having him pass out ice cream to children in a park, and then laugh after he gets hurt. Jade West was a nasty, anti-social sadist who used her unhappy childhood as an excuse for her negativity. And, if she hates people so much, let her wind up alone.. Because I thought that Elizabeth Gillies was just like Jade, I actually avoided watching the new-look Dynasty. But, in the past three months, I've learned that Ms. Gillies is a nice person, in addition to being monstrously talented. i Apologize for being long, but it had to be written.
As someone who was friends with a Jade West, it’s absolutely awful having to deal with someone who has no respect or regards for you as a person but will cry/victimize themselves when people are tired of the BS. P.S.: I don’t know if you have done this yet but it would be great to see “the racism in the proud family” because I was rewatching it and never realized the colorism towards dark black peoples and the racism to other POC like Hispanics & Asians with character design.
Let's be real, ppl only like Jade cuz she had the whole "gothic, mean girl, "bad b*tch", idgaf abt u think abt me" style. That's a cute style, but not personality. She was rude, disrespectful, and a bully.
I see why many fans would give Jade the "leather pants" treatment because they think that just because she's a sympathetic unpleasant character, it makes her actions excusable smh. It's not her fault she's abused by her father but it's her own fault for letting the abuse turn her into a terrible person. She's not made to be a sympathetic villain so that you can support her, it's so that she wouldn't be a flat, one-dimensional character. I realized I hate Jade even more, not only because she torments Tori because she thinks it's fun but because she has a victim complex and uses her low self-esteem and insecurities as excuses to blame and demonize others. Those fans who worship her and demonize Tori are delusional. I can tell another reason people tend to give her "leather pants" is also because she looks attractive. I realized mean girls like her tend to be portrayed as perfect little angels while girls who are genuinely nice are vilified and demonized because people assume they're actually wolves in sheep's clothing smh. Apparently being a mean girl makes you strong and being a nice girl makes you weak, according to society smh. Screw logic then.
Something that I realized a little while ago with how people would be upset about the show putting all the spotlight onto Tori and undermining Jade and Kat's singing abilities. Realistically, Jade and Kat are impossible to work with, Jade's rude and will scream in your face, and Kat gets easily distracted and it'd be impossible to get anything done (As shown in Wifi in the Sky). Every time I think about that one scene in Beggin' on your Knees where every one wants to be Tori's partner since she's known to be "the best performer", people don't seem to notice that they probably wanted to do their duet with Tori because she's nice and can get work done! And look, I get that not all the time is Tori easy to work with but be honest, more often than not she gets. crap. done! That says a lot about Tori and yet people completely ignore it to keep comparing her to the other characters.
While Elizabeth Gillies(Jade) and Ariana Grande(Cat) are better singers, their characters are unprofessional. It used to bother me that they didn't get more lead and co-lead singing opportunities. Now, I understand that it would've rewarded them--especially Jade--for their lousy behavior.
yall remember when jade stole tori's blood so she'd have to keep drawing blood for robbie and she was literally stumbling and almost killed her because tori got the lead???? and ppl were just ignoring it bc tori is boring????
I thought I was the only one who didn’t really like Jade. However, I think she’s the best character on the show, besides Andre. Great video as always! ❤️❤️
@@debrawhitney7748 I don't like Jade either. I read fan fiction stories that try to convince readers that she's misunderstood(Code word to excuse villainous Eurocentrics). Also, fan fiction writers like to pair Jade and Tori as a couple. But ultimately, Jade ruins that dynamic because she's bratty, possessive, and lacking in self-reflection. I wanted to find something redeemable in Jade, but there's little or nothing there to redeem. That said, Elizabeth Gillies, who played Jade, seems to be a nice person.
im ok with jade as a character. what i rly couldnt stand tho was how ppl made tori out to be the worst person on the show while praising jades bad behavior and acting like beck wasnt also part of the problem when it came to tori/beck 😐
I never liked Jade even as a kid. People always come at Beck and yes he wasn't the best boyfriend but Jade emotionally (gave him ultimatums, tried to control him) and physically (threw a rock at him) abused him. She was awful to Tori for no reason even though Tori always tried to be nice to her. Literally anytime Jade had a problem it was Tori who busted her ass off to help (getting funding for her play, helping her get Beck back, etc.). She was terrible to Robbie and treated Cat like an animal. The only one she was semi-nice to was André and let's be real she only tolerated him
@@augustinensang3109 no, shss pretty much a bad character. Just becausw you like her character, it doesn't meanit was good. I like beck, but he was a terrible character. So was cat and so was robbie
Jade's a character I love to hate as an antagonist, Beck compared to other characters is more boring and not as comedic or entertaining and Cat and Robbie are generally more sweet-natured and endearing.
Isn't funny how people make fun of others for listening/watching something then when it gets popular or semi-popular they love it also where i live its 79 degrees lol also also can you make a list about you're least favorite characters? and Beck & Jades relationship?
Ikr. I was playing Poptropica once and one of my friends judged me for it. But then it became semi-popular again and she got back into it, then claims she's never judged me for playing it in the first place. Oof.
@g7dmother •}:{• Yeah.... She gaslit me a lot 😕 Edit: Tbh, I've been considering ending my friendship with her, but I'm a little scared to. We've been friends for years and I used to be so comfortable around her, but now I just get so stiff and scared because she's always judging me and gaslighting me now. It's been like this for a few years.
Victorious was such a surface level show. No character arks, didn't go into each characters background to see why they were how they were. Jades back story and character ark could have been great. Kats character ark and backstory as well. But nooooo they think kids are stupid and can't digest it
i never liked jade either growing up and actually liked tori better but everyone i knew felt the opposite of me and i never understood why it made me feel crazy. i still don't get the vehement hatred for tori everyone seems to have. she's good-hearted and is flawed like any other teenage girl. she's not perfect by any means and can be selfish but she doesn't actively seek to harm people like jade does. everyone's logic is so ass-backward these days when it comes to characters and people they choose to like and dislike. trina is iconic and seems fun to be around. you're right about tori, beck, and andre being the best in the friend group because they are the ones that feel the most like real people. everyone likes cat because of ariana but the character is fairly one-dimensional.
Tori: just a normal girl with big ambitions victorious fans: eww Tori sucks Jade: literally abusive to beck is really mean to cat disrespects Andre and put tori in danger all the time Victorious fans: omg queen yess boss bitch
Jade West is actually a really cool and 'enjoyable to watch' character, but i bet everyone that calls her 'queen' or 'wonderful' 'beautiful' 'nice' 'cute' 'best' character would never wanna hang out with her in real life cause in the end she is just a bully who is mean and bitchy to everyone around her 🤷♀️ Her actress liz gillies however is a really nice person in real life, but still people need to get the differences.
Everyone jumps on Tori when she complains about her relationship with Jade saying “what did she expect when she kissed Beck” but Jade was the one who yelled at her first day telling her to not rub her boyfriend (I would be mad too but I would at least be nicer about it) THEN she poured coffee in Tori’s hair even after Tori backer off. Jade started the rivalry but because being mEaN is part of Jades personality (which it shouldn’t be) no one ever talks about the reason WHY tori kissed Beck in the first place...
21:40 I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME, I shipped Andre with Jade and Tori (and a lil bit with Cat). Andre was the only one she actually liked, I saw so much potential with them. Jade disrespected Beck in and out of their relationship. She had a love-hate relationship with Tori. Cat, Robbie, and Trina are completely understandable cuz they were all annoying characters. The only times Jade would really be rude to Andre was when Tori got him involved (and that episode he was annoyingly playing the keyboard to everything). I really liked the friendship they could have had, like in the Stage Fighting episode, I liked how Andre was going to call her out. And she didn’t seem like she was full on hate during that interaction either. Their friendship just seemed more real, I doubt their relationship would’ve been as toxic as Beck and Jade’s. The real triangle should’ve been between Tori and Jade with Andre👀I wouldn’t know what side I’d be on
Honestly they could have had a whole character arc trying to redeem her as a person like maybe some background info about her. Maybe a storyline where Andre and Jade where friends at one point and something happened.
People hated Tori because she kissed Beck, which was Jades boyfriend. But Jade got overly jealous and spilled coffee on Tori for literally no reason. I mean Tori rubbing Beck looked weird but how was she supposed to know he had a girlfriend. I can see why people hate Tori for kissing Cats boyfriend, but honestly I think Tori did a good revenge thing in Pilot
Omg yes! Elizabeth is a charismatic actress and made Jade entertaining, but I hated the way she treated people. She was awful to everyone except Andre. I would not want to be friends with Jade in real life and neither would her stans. I agree with you about Jori! I think Jade had a secret crush. Her relationship with Beck was so toxic and made no sense even though it was original. Would love have to seen Beck with Tori or Lola or Beck. I always felt like Tori didn't care about Jade, but tolerated her because she was apart of her friend group. It was Jade who was obsessed with her. I think they admired each others talent and Tori sympathized with her in situations (like her breakup with Beck and her situation with her dad) but Jade was obsessed with her, always trying to make her miserable, showing up to her house, and had her number even though Tori didn't give it to her. Not to mention she tried to bury Tori alive and bled her in a hospital just to get a part in a play. That is borderline psychotic. While Tori helped her get her bf back and helped her get her play produced. Beck definitely wanted Tori that was clear, that's part of why Jade hated her so much. Her relationship with Beck was borderline abusive and she was way too possessive of him. I wish she and Andre could've been a thing and that Tori could've been flushed out and with Beck.
I never found Jade entertaining. I found her nasty, rude, and sadistic. It's the Lindsay Lohan syndrome: She gets excuse because she's an attractive Eurocentric female. All of that said, Elizabeth Gillies seems to be a nice person. I was surprised to learn that she is. And, as for Jade, how could even another female want her? Negativity radiates from her.
I don’t get how everyone at the school was afraid of her but that prison episode Jade got her ass whopped and backed down. That’s why she acts like she does, nobody socked her in the face and think she’s bad when she’s really not. Most of that is for show and because people let her.
I was so sad about the fact that Tori and Beck never got together. Even though they weren't endgame, I would have loved to see what they would have been like as a couple. Same with Andre and Jade. But like you said, the writers ended up screwing with the whole show and it would have been too good to be true to expect better from it anyway. Other than that, you really hit all the points, especially on Jade's dynamics with the characters. Well said!
Dude i remember loving the song andre wrote for jade, 365 days. Honestly they could have had an interesting relationship but nah Nickelodeon didn't want to do the work
I'm surprised you didn't bring up the Fake Black Eye incident between Jade and Tori. I think that episode gave more of a reason not to like Jade as a person.
And people would realize that if she were blonde and conventional-looking. But because she's a brunette alt girl...somehow her meanness is different or "better."
@@PhoenixRising87 Actually most people who like her realised it. Just bc someone love her, doesn’t mean they consider her a good person. I love Jade, she’s a great character but indeed she’s a bad person. Liking a fictional villain doesn’t mean supporting their actions in real life.
People’s logic: Tori, helps her friends and is trying to fit in: WORST. 🤮 Jade, rude and making people’s day worse: QUEEN! 👑 Btw Tori is queen to me NOT jade-
I lowkey became like Jade when I was younger because I thought she was what I needed to be in order to be confident and cool. Needless to say, I dropped that act once I realized how toxic that kind of behavior is.
And cool dor what? She is the definition of a pick me girl, ,,ohhh I am so edgy and not like them and I am going to take down girls bc I am an insecure jealous loser"
Jade is an interesting character but if she was real I would avoid her like the plague.
Same honestly
LMFAO
LMAO SAME HONESTLY
me 😂
And people are saying she's relatable
i saw a tweet that was like "All of y'all stanning jade like you wouldn't be one of the kids she bullied," and it's true lol
Yep
I mean I would let her bully me, but it’s the lesbian in me, so that’s what it mainly has to do with 😕
@Dream it Do it It's easier to give a free pass to someone, when you want to get into their pants. It's ridiculous.
Dane Cranberry i think they mean they find it hot

I liked her as a character in a story but the thing is i would hate her if she was a real person
I hated her character and trust me you would I meet tricks like her
@Ikran Ahmed agreed, if I was forced to hang out with her, I'd be tempted to rip my hair off.
Yeah, like I love her writing but I would slap her irl
So true.
So true.
I've realized that i never liked Jade I just liked Elizabeth Gillies
Yes.
My point I didn’t like Jade but I like Liz
I mean honestly same
honestly same
PERIODT
Jade works as a character, but everyone calling her a queen, savage, badass etc need to admit that she is *not* the kind of person someone needs in their life
NOBODY would want to have someone like Jade in their lives.
It's too much bully glorifying for me. We get it, y'all hate Victoria Justice and enjoy when Jade is mean to Tori.
It would be poetic justice, if someone like Jade ended up alone.
Andre was loyal, hard working, and still funny. STAN
Right I also feel like him and tori had the most chemistry so it kinda surprised me when they didnt end up together
Honestly Andre deserves his own spin-off instead of Cat.
He carried the show tbh
he had s beautiful singing voice as well, andre was underrated
And he's the only good character in this show
The whole loving Jade and hating Tori thing reminded me a lot of the "I'm not like other girls" argument where a rebellious girl is automatically loved for being quirky, different and sarcastic while a normal girl who is nice and generally unproblematic is villified just because she's a normal girly girl with a less defined or memorable personality. Tori did some heinous things in the show yes, but nobody seemed interested in admitting Jade was just as, if not much worse than Tori.
But in that same episode where she didn’t kiss jades ex boyfriend jade let her preform at the awards that could help tori and her career
But in that same episode where she didn’t kiss jades ex boyfriend jade let her preform at the awards that could help tori and her career
@jeonghan is a prince we all have flaws but yea it's worse when someone is self righteous
Shæms I think it’s just a joke
I think that all the time
Rex also insults other people a lot, and from what we saw of Robbie’s character in the Robbarrazi episode, Robbie seems to have a mean streak.
the parts i notice the most are basically just robbie making rex make sexualized comments/weird shit about women and y'know that's not really excusable even if he hates himself lol
Shæms that’s honestly very heartbreaking tbh
Yes, I mean I thin she's more interesting character wise but she isn't a good person. I like Andre the most, they tried to just make him the token black guy but they ended up making him one of the most interesting characters. Also people need to stop treating Trina so bad, she just had big ambitions and knew what she wanted and how to get it (even though it wasn't always good-)
Not to mention she was talented in other places, no she couldn't sing and act, but sis could do martial arts, SIS JOGGED IN HEELS!
I HATED how tori treated her own sister in certain situations cause like that it sister gurl
@@shuou2794 I- they both treated each other like trash.
@@slipknotter trina has never allowed a group of people laugh a tori like the way tori allowed her own friends to do trina
She was. Kind of like Sharpay
Yet people always say Tori was the worse but when you bring up some of the stuff Jade has done they get quiet.
But then again she did make cats boyfriend cheat on cat with her out of jealousy and made beck cheat on jade. And it was only the first season 💀
bxtterfly Beck choose to kiss tori, cats bf choose to kiss tori. She didn’t make them do anything, they could’ve easily said no. Putting all the blame on tori is such a cop out.
Let’s see what jade has done:
-poured coffee on tori on her very first day
-tried to get tori in trouble by faking a black eye
-gave her coffee from the trash
-stole her blood so she would miss a the part in a play
-constantly insulted and bullied Tori unprovoked.
And most of that from from the first season.
THEY BE MUTE
bxtterfly bruh Tori kissing Beck on the pilot was acting and they all knew that it was an acting, it was an acting exercise. Tori was getting back at Jade because of what Jade did first. Fast-forward to the time Beck & Jade were broken up and Beck wanted to kiss Tori but she wouldn’t do out of the respect for Jade.
@@joshmcneil4020 but jade let her preform at the awards in stead of her
I mean, Jade is an interesting and entertaining character to watch. But yeah, people saying Tori is a horrible person and that Jade was right to bully her is so incorrect. Like, objectively, Jade is a horrible human being. Tori went out of her way to be nice to Jade, even refused to date Beck because she considered Jade a friend.
@jeonghan is a prince I never got that from watching the show. Also knowing you're mean and continuing to act that way is worse.
I think she is insecure of tori coming into the school because she could tell beck liked tori better so she would be mean
And tori kissed beck in front of her and beck didn’t stop and she kissed cats boyfriend 💀
lol i won't have cared if i was tori i would've been messy and threw myself at him when they broke up lol
Remember when she stole Tori's blood and people have the nerve to call Tori horrible
Facts she cant handle when spmepne else gets the attention thats why tori took her stupid play away
Those same people have a fantasy of being the high school mean girl
Dan Schneider’s clearly a very dark man...
@@RubyLioness he's a big weirdo
I mean, looking back - Tori still can be quite rude (like, sis really kissed cat’s boyfriend, i-)
Andre’s probably the most unproblematic character (then probably Cat).
i feel like jade could've had an arc where she learned to not be as violent and toxic and trust people w the andre thing but :/
She needs a therapy arc, where she gets her issues, her insecurities and her situation at home sorted out
Jade would've played havoc in Andre's life. She would've demanded to sing co-lead with him--all of the time. She would've sucked up his free time. And, she probably would've been abusive to him. Someone as anti-social and negative as Jade deserves to end up alone.
I feel like Andre was the only person Jade respected

@@chimanruler15 omg i never knew that that's actually a big deal coming from Jade
FACTS
Especially when carly stood up to nevil by not kissing him to get a good review
Damn, you listed everything XD
I wouldn't say the first. I was bornin in 1991 and there were kids sitcoms I watched that did that. For kids in a certain age group it was probably their first, though.
@@Aster_Risk I was born in 96 so maybe that's why.
True dat. If my baby brother had a gf like that, I'd have to beat her with my cane a little bit.
(FTR, my "baby" brother is 19).
If I dated someone like that... I despise loud noises and anger. How did Beck live through that
Honestly the whole "beck let it happen" argument sounds like men being sexually harrassed and people tell them they're 'lucky',get it?beck didnt like it
Finally! Jade was always praised on social media for yearsss and I kept thinking "are we watching the same show???"
Because everyone likes a unhinged and cynical character, they usually do crazy ass stuff and are making the most jokes throughout the show.
jeonghan is a prince I’ve seen people praise Azula constantly stop it now
jeonghan is a prince I’ve seen people defend her as a person a lot. Basically saying that all of her bad actions are justified because of some dumb excuse.
Saaaaaaaame
Exactly! I hate when people defend bullying just like they do with Sam. It is not good!
THIS. everyone loves to bring up tori messing up a few times but never bring up when the other character messed up too. none of them were perfect, they all did something that was unacceptable.
i feel like people sag they don’t like tori is because she wasn’t an interesting character to watch, she didn’t really have that much depth to
her character, and i think that’s why people preferred jade because she was more interesting as a character(not trying to say she was a good person)
@@nnnn-sc2im sorry lol I know that reply is massive. It is just something that was on my mind.
Tori’s a bit of a brat but at least she’s not violent
Her beef with Tori was one sided from the very beginning. Tori did what she had to do to deal with Jade Bully West.

Jade was a good character, nobody said she was a good person.
It’s interesting to watch her interact with the friend group for sure. But it’s very debatable to say she’s a good character.
She’s not a good character, her issues were never fixed, she’s an interesting character though
I’d say the actress was good at playing her. But I don’t think she was particularly well written.
growingupwithdisney she fixed some issues with Tori and fixing those issue with Tori helped her a bit with Beck. But I do agree there’s still some things she could have improved on.
Exactly. This is pretty obvious to anybody who has ever seen an episode of Victorious lmao
Zach B. No
it rlly was tho
The sad thing is that, it could've been a better show than it was. It had the most talented principle cast of any of Schneider's shows. But, it had, like his other shows, a thread of thoughtless and cruelty.
Zach B. Not really I feel like y’all are trying to make it sound deep to make the show more interesting than it actually is
This is such an underrated comment!🤩
Somebody had to say it. Jade was absolutely insufferable. She was toxic and mean to everyone. People say "she's a good character" doesn't mean she isn't absolutely terrible. She took her anger out on everyone and for no reason. Whenever it seemed like Jade was getting better she'd get worse. I disliked her and Cat so much.
I agree with this comment SO MUCH ugh lol
@Selozar I hate when people say this because Tori didn't even do anything to deserve what Jade had done to her in the first episode before she and Beck kissed. Jade stole her blood, she tried to make Tori have an allergic reaction, bullied her incessantly and then forces Tori to help her with her relationship drama. I honestly can't understand how someone can say Tori is the worst when Jade exists.
@Selozar Right. Like stealing someone's blood and potentially hurting their health is okay as long as you're trying to get the lead in a fucking play.
EXACTLY
Um go back and watch and pay more attention to beck. I hope you notice something.

She's not even goth; just some pouty teenage edgelady with bad makeup and a chip on her shoulder the size of Alaska.
@@PhoenixRising87 I know she's not goth, that's just how teen movies/shows portray goth girls
That is very true
people hating on Victoria justice even after all these years is so ridiculous. Its cause of the pathetic Ariana grande fans.
Not a very good point since Tori was actually very attracted to Beck.
Saying that someone’s behavior reminds you of something you’ve noticed in real life...is not a point.

Remember when Jade tried to kill Tori by making her donate 3 PINTS of blood? And it was all because she wanted to play the main role in "Steamboat Susie"
The Human body holds 8 pints of blood.
or when jade drove tori out to the middle of nowhere
Yep. Plus she drove her out into the middle of nowhere and attempted actual murder
I was like “Girl this is Hollywood arts y’all have performances every other day😒”
technically it was only 2 pints jade did. the third was robbies fault bc he dropped the bag of tori’s blood 🩸
Exceptional talent isn't an excuse for being a nasty person. Are you listening, Carrie Underwood?
No matter how bad your past was, it doesn't excuse your actions.

You're not blinded by identity.
It's depressing to see how many bisexuals make excuses for Jade. While homophobia is bad, so is being an unrepentant sociopath.
A lot of people say jade is only jealous because a lot of girls flirt with beck, but she's mean for other reasons too:
-She stole tori's blood for a role
- She ruined tori's prome' (Yes i know she got her play cancelled, but she could have just worked it out. Im sure tori would have let her put on a play at the end or something)
- Everyone claims it tori's fault that trina is treated badly and excluded, but jade literally kicks out Trina, and bullies her all the time.
-Ruined tori's first day, and when tori gets revenge, ya'll are mad
- Faked an injury, got tori 3 weeks of detetion
Heres major bad things tori has done
- Kissed Cats boyfriend
- Made andre miss his grandpa's birthday
Tori was a boring character, but she was nicer.
Tori might be boring but Jade is annoying
People hated on Tori for the same reasons they loved Jade. They hate Tori when shes mean but love it when Jade is mean when Jade is actually worse.

I think Jade should have had some character development though
Gabriel Wilkerson SAME! Mean girls are my favorite characters! They’re so entertaining, but I would never want to be friends with one in real life. And the show really should’ve went into her relationship with her father and her home life.

So yes I would
I feel like only certain types of peope could be her friend

Jade is also a very jealous and insecure character
Jade is a nasty, manipulative, controlling and condescending character who’s only put on a pedestal because Liz Gillies is gorgeous. It’s not cute or funny to take your insecurities on people. (Yes I’m aware this takes place in a fictional high school, not that deep)
Fortunately, Ms. Gillies seems to be a nice person. Jade, however, would end up virtually unemployable.

They both were bad for each other, it wasn’t just her. She was super jealous, he never said anything to the girls who were flirting with him

You are the only one with sense in this world
No hate to Jade but like this is one of the main reasons why Fallon Carrington is Elizabeth's better charachter🤩🤩✨✨
But Fallon has redeeming qualities which offset her less admirable ones. Jade has few redeeming qualities, if any.
Fallon is better than jade. ngl she is less meaner and more savage.
I honestly feel like Fallon wouldn’t even like Jade
As someone who was friends with a Jade West, it’s absolutely awful having to deal with someone who has no respect or regards for you as a person but will cry/victimize themselves when people are tired of the BS.
P.S.: I don’t know if you have done this yet but it would be great to see “the racism in the proud family” because I was rewatching it and never realized the colorism towards dark black peoples and the racism to other POC like Hispanics & Asians with character design.
6:45 “If they were ugly, if they were unattractive people would dislike them.” Most underrated comment.
It's people like that who make afraid of connecting with people
Something that I realized a little while ago with how people would be upset about the show putting all the spotlight onto Tori and undermining Jade and Kat's singing abilities.
Someone said it!!! People like her cause she can sing and roast people but I found her too negative.
But Beck isn't it either. To me he enables her.
he sure did
I thought I was the only one who didn’t really like Jade. However, I think she’s the best character on the show, besides Andre. Great video as always! ❤️❤️
I did not like Jade
Debra Whitney I think she’s good for the show, but I don’t understand the cult following around her.
@@maddie9655 I may understand it perfectly. Either they're like her, they're thinking with their glands, or both.
the way i was literally thinking about you making a jade west video. i manifested
hehehehehehe
im ok with jade as a character. what i rly couldnt stand tho was how ppl made tori out to be the worst person on the show while praising jades bad behavior and acting like beck wasnt also part of the problem when it came to tori/beck 😐
The only one she was semi-nice to was André and let's be real she only tolerated him
Finally somebody else agrees! Jade may have been hot (and that's debatable) but she wasn't a great character
She's not a bad character but she wasn't a great person.
@@augustinensang3109 yeah o get she jas daddy issues but thats not an excuse
@@elisabethfanfan9560 I agree
@@augustinensang3109 no, shss pretty much a bad character. Just becausw you like her character, it doesn't meanit was good. I like beck, but he was a terrible character. So was cat and so was robbie
Jade's a character I love to hate as an antagonist, Beck compared to other characters is more boring and not as comedic or entertaining and Cat and Robbie are generally more sweet-natured and endearing.
Isn't funny how people make fun of others for listening/watching something then when it gets popular or semi-popular they love it
also where i live its 79 degrees lol
also also can you make a list about you're least favorite characters? and Beck & Jades relationship?
Ikr. I was playing Poptropica once and one of my friends judged me for it. But then it became semi-popular again and she got back into it, then claims she's never judged me for playing it in the first place. Oof.
@@GardenfRedRoses777 And that's on hypocrisy :)
@@GardenfRedRoses777 Poptropica has always been the best 😎
@@cynicalperson161 PERIODT
@g7dmother •}:{• Yeah.... She gaslit me a lot 😕
Edit: Tbh, I've been considering ending my friendship with her, but I'm a little scared to. We've been friends for years and I used to be so comfortable around her, but now I just get so stiff and scared because she's always judging me and gaslighting me now. It's been like this for a few years.
I like jade in the show, she's funny, but if it was real, i'd hate her, also, how is she not expelled? *p.s in one episode, she tried killing tori.*
was it the one where she took toris blood?
alyssa lol
It's all apart of narcissism
It was a episode when beck said they were her friends she made a rant about everyone but didn’t even mention Andre
Tori: just a normal girl with big ambitions
victorious fans: eww Tori sucks
Jade: literally abusive to beck is really mean to cat disrespects Andre and put tori in danger all the time
Victorious fans: omg queen yess boss bitch
Jade West is actually a really cool and 'enjoyable to watch' character, but i bet everyone that calls her 'queen' or 'wonderful' 'beautiful' 'nice' 'cute' 'best' character would never wanna hang out with her in real life cause in the end she is just a bully who is mean and bitchy to everyone around her 🤷♀️ Her actress liz gillies however is a really nice person in real life, but still people need to get the differences.
👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Jade is just insecure and obsessed with Tori, thats all! She is so annoying that makes me and a lot of people not to watch the show!
Yup
Maybe a storyline where Andre and Jade where friends at one point and something happened.
andre and jade had something special and it was thrown out the window.
We were robbed of jade & andre
People hated Tori because she kissed Beck, which was Jades boyfriend. But Jade got overly jealous and spilled coffee on Tori for literally no reason. I mean Tori rubbing Beck looked weird but how was she supposed to know he had a girlfriend. I can see why people hate Tori for kissing Cats boyfriend, but honestly I think Tori did a good revenge thing in Pilot
i felt like i was the only kid that shipped tori and beck
Nah u wasn’t the only one I shipped them too even as a kid
When Jade and Beck got back together I screamed. I thought for sure Tori and Beck would be a thing and it would have been 100x better
Yessss they would've matched so well. You could tell Beck always liked Tori
no your not
Honestly they could have had an interesting relationship but nah Nickelodeon didn't want to do the work
its fine because they are in this movie together and theyre both the main characters and they are together
If Jade was a real person, she wouldn’t have any friends and everyone would’ve avoided her like the plague.
The fans always bitch about Tori and what she does as if Jade wasn’t right there doing arguably worst shit for the hell of it.
I'm surprised you didn't bring up the Fake Black Eye incident between Jade and Tori. I think that episode gave more of a reason not to like Jade as a person.
Jade was basically a mean girl
And people would realize that if she were blonde and conventional-looking. But because she's a brunette alt girl...somehow her meanness is different or "better."
She isn't alt.
@@PhoenixRising87 Actually most people who like her realised it. Just bc someone love her, doesn’t mean they consider her a good person. I love Jade, she’s a great character but indeed she’s a bad person. Liking a fictional villain doesn’t mean supporting their actions in real life.
I feel like Tori deserves more love from the fandom. She gets way too much hate from the fandom.
Jade just tried too hard to look like she didn’t care
I like how she saw thatJade seemed to have a crush on Tori, and I wouldn't mind it if Jade wasn't a toxic person,
People’s logic:
Tori, helps her friends and is trying to fit in: WORST. 🤮
Jade, rude and making people’s day worse: QUEEN! 👑
Btw Tori is queen to me NOT jade-
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
I love this comment
I lowkey became like Jade when I was younger because I thought she was what I needed to be in order to be confident and cool. Needless to say, I dropped that act once I realized how toxic that kind of behavior is.
Jade is for sure not CONFIDENT otherwise she wouldnt be insecure and jealous of other people.
And cool dor what? She is the definition of a pick me girl, ,,ohhh I am so edgy and not like them and I am going to take down girls bc I am an insecure jealous loser"
