My daughter bought a fully restored Victorian house on Staten Island 3 years ago, it is gorgeous....the molding. And stair ways were beautifully restored, every thing ....except the kitchen.....new kitchen, custom cabinets, granite counter tops....she had the dining room furniture custom made in amish country...2 of the bedrooms are custom made.....the house is so her....most people want new houses, she has always loved antique shopping.....
Me too, the new house lose something. AND are made like with cardboard I am sorry to say. My parents and my sister and I lived in turn of the century apts...they were like rocks no noise solid....that was in the 50's now it is still there and being fix up
Very misleading headline. Nice story about an old home that definitely deserved to be saved and restored, but hardly a word about the supposed haunting.
Yes, I agree. Not enough about the hauntings to justify the title. I very much enjoyed the old man in the interview: and would have liked to have seen a longer interview with him.
@@adventureswithjoe1067 Obviously...but there are no details to justify that being the "headline" for the video. The story is more about the beauty of the house than about the haunting, and I can see why...it's a beautiful, old home...but it still makes the title of the video attention grabbing, rather than the true purpose of the video.
It would be so neat if they would restore the home, and maybe they could rebuild the twin mansion for historical purposes! It would really be a beautiful tourist attraction, as well as a lovely yet frightening (for those of us who love that kinda thing,) Bed and Breakfast!
@@fassenm6041 I grew up on the South Shore of Staten Island in the early 1980s. That house gave me chills as a kid and I still have occasional nightmares about that house some 40 years later.
There are probably no more ghosts there than in any other house. Just such big old places causes people's Imaginations to go wild. Horror movies are the culprit in cultivating fear of such places, same goes for the fear of the dark. I often watch animals go in and out of the most delapidated places with no hesitation, and I think, these creatures have never seen a horror movie that would give them preconcieved Ideas about these areas.
+doctor zaius I wouldn't pay $1.03 for that piece of crap. The outside is horrendous. It needs a lot of work. He spent 1 million renovating? The inside look like shit too. And haunted...? Yeah. That ones gonna sell a car without an engine.
Leslie Anne Cook Sustaita Don't agree. I love most Victorian style buildings, and this one has a lot of weird, unique details. As far as being "haunted", I'd say that's a plus... just adds character. Ghosts aren't real! Property values in Staten Island, like all of NYC and the surrounding area, are crazy. I'd think even the vacant land this home is on would have cost more than $1.3 million.
Anyone who grew up on SI knows about the Kreischer Mansion. It's supposed to be one of (if not the most) haunted houses in all of New York. No one who moves in lasts for long. I'd love to be able to spend one night there.
This house is just glorious. So much history. I could never afford to heat it. Hopefully, The house will be purchased by someone who will preserve it. Maybe a preservation society.
Very nice house but far from a "mansion" at 3300 sq ft. I'm in my parents home, an old Victorian circa 1883, and it comes in at almost 4400 sq ft. There's 5 full baths, 2 half baths, a gazillion bdrms and I even have a few ghosts knocking around. After 42 yrs I'm finally leaving our family home for a 2 bdrm, 1 bath. Yay!
I love older homes because they are built to last. My cousin bought an older 1920 home and the wood is gorgeous. I feel a house being haunted it’s in someone’s mind.
Theres been loads of old houses "Restored" with plenty of restoration time spent in the house, and I have yet to hear of anyone being spooked or harmed in any of them.
Apparently the wife of the owner is said to roam the halls, when the place was a restaurant workers who used one of the rooms up stairs to rest up were said to have woken with a women in period clothing just staring at them, they also felt they were being watched, things would be moved, and noises could be heard...this house was on the programme - Haunted
I was disappointed in this video as it does not live up to its title. This was not a "haunted house" story at all. Although the history was interesting, and I very much enjoyed the interview with the old man (and would like to see more)…...this home, it's history, and the story of the hauntings deserves a much longer, professionally done video. Please let us know if that happens.
It could be exorcized just to be sure, then what a lovely home it could be fixed up keeping it with the rich design it so desires. The grounds could be done over with flowers and fountains or at least one large one. Gardens etc. So much If someone had money and the desire to at least give this home a try. But at first, it would be best to go in to study the spirits if there are any here now, and do exoricism if necessary. People do this kind of thing, if the person planning to own it, cannot do it themselves. This truly is in a great location and it would be so quiet to live there. Wonderful place for an author, or artistic people. People who could bring joy and love back to it. This home has so much to offer a fine family, one with money to save it.
Trust me I did moving jobs around this area of this house and trust me at night you feel presents of like sombody looking at you no lie its creepy at night …..

That is great! Your daughter sounds like an old soul.
Just me Just me most people don’t look for new houses, statistics simply don’t support that statement
Does she know of the Starret house? Pink, strange round staircase and fresco painting at top? Belonged to my childhood friends grandparents...

It becomes a haunted house.

Glad to see it restored and in the hands of someone who cares about the community. We need more people like him, everywhere.
I love that he just casually said that the guy he hired to look after the house murdered and buried someone at the property. 🤔
Looks like a CLASSIC version of just what a haunted house looks like!
Well done sir So nice to see these lovely old houses back in their former glory. xx
beautiful home

Yes definitely
I have seen this!My sisters job was by there and we would pass it.Its beautiful!

I saw this house on Paranormal Lockdown and Ghost Hunters and the house is seriously haunted. Good luck to whoever buys it.
If you were a ghost in NYC, where else would you go?
My gosh its so great to see an old pieace of history still around.
I live in staten island and pass this everyday. It gives me a weird vibe..😂
After seeing this news, now your fear will be gone

Really!. why dont you try to go inside the house?

10 million. Google it. Don’t know where they are getting that price.
For that kind of money you could do a lot better
Just drove past this house tonight.. Really creepy but very cool!
They always say buildings are haunted to jack the price up!
how wonderful the restoration is.

thats a very good price knowing its a victorian home, thats so big with alot of land. they sure don't make them like that anymore
In my opinion, looks like the house used in the horror movie, "Don't Go In The House."
That’s a beautiful crib tho lol
Crazy there are a lot of normal houses in that area that look like little versions of it it
House looks much bigger than 3300 square feet
is the house still for sale?
Gorgeous wood work on the inside.
It would be awesome to stay there for a week.
It would be fun to reenact "Clue" or some Agetha Christie "Who done it" game in that house ;-)

i pass it sometimes definitely an interesting story.
the scene with the staircase looks like it had been in a movie with Fred Astaire but I don't remember the name
I think most of these haunted houses wont post the truth about the houses being haunted
The narrator has a unique voice and accent.
So he bought it for a mil, spend a mil getting it restored but the house is on sale for 1.4 million. 🤔
Absolutely gorgeous home
Was the house already haunted when this guy bought the house?! Did the murder happen after the guy in the video bought the house?
Try to pay attention and keep up with the rest of the boys and girls, Mike.
