I absolutely love it! I have a grandfather clock almost identical to yours that was passed down to me from my father and you have given me the confidence that this will work on mine. Thank you!
Wow! This looks great! I want to revamp an old grandfather clock as well and have been looking at UA-cam videos to find out the easiest way to approach it. Your approach looks the easiest (while also having fantastic results, which is what I'm aiming for) - what is the difference between using this spray versus actually painting with a brush? Your video so far is the only one I've seen where spray paint is used instead of paint and a brush. The spray paint idea looks so much easier. Please let me know the difference spray paint and actually painting with a brush. Thank you so much, and thank you so much for sharing this video!
Literally arguing painting the grandfather clock my coworker gave me. What color do I want to paint it? Satin black. Love your clock. Wish I could paint mines 😒
Being a little older, I think it’s great to take something traditional and make it fresh and new for the next generation. I recently picked up a 50 year old grandfather clock that was languishing in a dingy flea market. Not sure if I will leave it alone or make it a project. Thanks for the video.
You are giving me so many ideas. I have some things that I don't favor but they were my mom's. A paint job would would give them a totally new look. I also love how you and Darion make compromise ( I hope I spelled his name right).
We have a grandmother clock we really want to do this too! so glad I found this video it looks amazing 🤩 - can I ask about the finish in real life was it seamless? My mums worried about marks xx
How it works is the there are 3 shafts in the clock and they're each a different mechanism Left works the hour strike Center works the time Right works the melodies They each work together for the clock to run properly powered by those brass weights each weight may look the same but they each weigh different pounds make sure that the lightest weight is on the left and the most heaviest is in the middle some clocks have the weights labeled on where they go the labels are sticked underneath them you can't put them anywhere otherwise the clock will go insane such as the the clock will run too slow and the chime would be too fast Now if the clock missing one of the weights or two it can't work perfectly If the middle weight is not there then the clock can't go tick-tock If the side weights are gone the clock can't chime such as If the left weight not there it will keep time, play melody but won't strike If the right weight is gone the clock can't play the melody it also can't strike the hour either because the melody didn't play
YIKES! Painting?
Looks beautiful!😊👍 we have my mom's grandmother clock..Same wood color and style. We plan on doing the exact same thing, Thanks for the inspiration!
Yes that clock looks great! I would've never thought to paint a grandfather clock black!
Classy. Spray painted grandfather clock.
Thanks for this! I am thinking about doing it with ours.

I've got a better title:
How to piss off every clock collector
We have a grandmother clock we really want to do this too! so glad I found this video it looks amazing 🤩 - can I ask about the finish in real life was it seamless? My mums worried about marks xx
Hi! yes, seamless in real life lol
I love it
Thank you!
Does it come Westminster
Why did you put on only 2 weights
It's a westminster chime clock so it should have 3
I liked 2 better.
OK but it may not work properly without all 3
@@BakerFamily123 it works fine!! 😃
Left weight=hour strike
Middle weight=keeps time
Right weight=Melody
How it works is the there are 3 shafts in the clock and they're each a different mechanism
Left works the hour strike
Center works the time
Right works the melodies
They each work together for the clock to run properly powered by those brass weights each weight may look the same but they each weigh different pounds make sure that the lightest weight is on the left and the most heaviest is in the middle some clocks have the weights labeled on where they go the labels are sticked underneath them you can't put them anywhere otherwise the clock will go insane such as the the clock will run too slow and the chime would be too fast
Now if the clock missing one of the weights or two it can't work perfectly
If the middle weight is not there then the clock can't go tick-tock
If the side weights are gone the clock can't chime such as
If the left weight not there it will keep time, play melody but won't strike
If the right weight is gone the clock can't play the melody it also can't strike the hour either because the melody didn't play
I preffer german clock
This is new clock. In the Uk our grandfather clocks are 200+ years old .too old to paint
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Why revamp a such a beautiful piece of machinery of Clocks like why do it. It looked so more beautiful than revamped
