So nice seeing someone still able to appreciate the great music and legacy of the marvelous Johnny Smith. Keep at it my friend, you play it with heart. 👍🏻
I almost thought I was the only person who still loved his music and even knew who he was, but seeing this young man playing flawless, sophistical and emotion renditions brings light to an often dark world
Great work on the Young Jazz musician of the year finals. I'm sure we'll hear more of you in future. Great to see all the gifted musicians in the final - looks like jazz has a bright future. Would have been good to see a guitarist win it but maybe next time. I've been playing guitar for over 50 years and some jazz over the last ten or so and I know how difficult what you were doing was - not easy making a solo over Giant steps sound melodic ! All the best for the future - you deserve it.
Hi Ralph, really enjoyed your playing. I just subscribed. Love the tone and and articulation you use. What kind of mic/amp are you using here? Thanks! -Tom Cossentino
Beautiful tone!. A thrill to listen to.
Wonderful Ralph, very musical!

Thanks so much!! Johnny’s the true master!
Nice work Ralph. I'm 2/3 through it now on nylon. Have a listen to Joe Pass version of Tangerine. You'll love it!
Johnny Smith would be proud. You added some really nice touches of your own. You are special.
Thanks so much Bob. Incredibly kind of you!
Outstanding…..
Thanks so much for listening Andy! :-)
Thank you Ralph Porrett for sharing this awesome rendition of a great song. Carlos Santana said that music brings light into a dark world.
Thanks so much! Keep on shredding!!
great execution on such a tricky chord solo by the master
That wonderful rendition does the memory of the great Johnny Smith proud! Very well-done and enjoyable. Sublime.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment!
@@ralphporrett - Keep playing.... you've got real talent. I am a jazz musician myself, and know whereof I speak.
An outstanding performance! Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks so much - super kind of you!
Wonderful. One of Johnny’s masterpieces. You even captured his tone.
