A friend and I just got the update . It's not bad. We play it once or twice a week and slowly level up. We are at ascension tier 20 now. It can be a little tough solo but as a group it's not to bad. Playing this casually along with all of the other games I have is fun. Currently playing division, warframe, destroy all humans, outriders and a few other games its well worth my time. I don't have any problems with cheating but I don't play pc. Wait I'm confused? I always used dropped gear in every game. Can't build the best gear in division or destiny or borderlands or diablo or outriders any other one I can think of so i work with what im dropped until i get what i want. I'm probably wrong though. This is a decent game to spend some time with. The only issue I have is that it can be to difficult for solo players and I could use better loot. Overall it's decent I can't complain. At least the grind isn't as much as some games like warframe
One if the main problems with the excruciatingly long XP grind to Apoc Tier 40 (for each of the 4 character classes) is that it demonstrates a complete lack of respect for the players’ time. I feel personally insulted by this lack of respect for my valuable time.
The big shame is that Outriders core gameplay is just so good. The gunplay , the abilities, chaining all the carnage, the enemies exploding. It all feels and looks so good
I said it before and I’ll say again here; That 5% exp decrease for AT levels was a slap in the face and PCF knew it. You still spend nearly the same amount of time doing the same grind and getting the same crappy drops. I don’t know how many times I’ve salvaged non-Apoc Cannonball armor.
It seems to me that the XP & gear grind changes as well as the build changes are all about artificially dragging out the play time for completion presumably because they have nothing new/more to add and need for people to keep playing the game for as long as possible and they're gambling enough will put up with the abusive grind.
Nailed it. Why else would they ignore the complaints of not one but two beta tests? Imagine if they had decreased grind slightly, while rolling out 2 new classes over the span of 6 months or so. New levels, side quests, anything.
We’ve needed videos like this for quite awhile now. You hit all of the issues and all of this needed to be said. The DLC has been very disappointing, especially since the game was in a good place before it dropped. Very well said and much appreciated, Buzz 👍
The whole Outriders is so obviously based on speed runs, thing is when PCF saw people didn't like that they got confused. They literally knew what people want and that is loadouts, horde, survival, defense mods, more randomness, more big bosses.... Reason why they didn't deliver with all these stuff is because Worldslayer has been done before release and was just sitting there waiting to get released.
So you are saying that Worldslayer was done PRIOR to the base Outriders game releasing? That's an interesting statement, and one that I have never seen before.
@@LtBuzzLitebeer I always thought it was cut content if you look at the new epic weapons you can see some of them in early previews of the base game and even in the tutorial screen for crafting early in the game. Pretty sure the full version of the opening screen shows that bird flying through Black Gulch. Definitely unfinished content released one year later at an insulting price imo.
I agree whole heartedly, and points 1 and 3 resonate most with me. I played this game hard-core until Worldslayer. I got all four classes to level 30, bought the expansion as soon as it came out, and when I first played it I kind of had a “meh” response to it. I kept going, and the more I played, the more disappointed I felt. Then, I quit cold turkey. Hard stop. Personally, I think they did so many things wrong with the expansion. One of my biggest complaints is the apocalypse gear system (with 3 mods). In the vanilla game, it took SO long to get the right gear, then level it up. I made all these meta builds, then People Can Fly instantly made all of those builds useless, forcing me to start literally from scratch. If that isn’t enough, the pathetic stash space makes it impossible to create new builds, in my opinion. It’s almost as if you have to decide on ONE specific build, and grind the hell out of it hoping you get the right RNG, because there isn’t enough stash space to accumulate gear for several concurrent builds. I spent more time managing my inventory than I did playing worldslayer. There’s just a lot they got wrong, and made it instantly unenjoyable
I love outriders and worldslayer I am also a huge destiny 2 player as well as division series as well. I just wish we had more content to play instead of same expeditions and tarya gratar all the time. But hopefully they figure this out cause I love this outriders world let's see what they can do
Thanks for sharing Buzz, you are true. I was so excited when Worldslayer came out, but it was a let down. Especially . the loot grind is crushing. I cannot create the builds I like, because I have no chance to get the pieces. I could live with the XP grind, if I could at least create builds, let alone level them up, which is far to expensive as well. But then also, same as Division 2, I severely miss replayable content. The new content from Worldslayer is not even remotely enough to keep me load the game.
Kind of sucks for me, as I didn't buy Worldslayer. So trying to find build guides or optimal settings guides that aren't outdated... is hard to do. I recently came back to the game to just mess around and was hoping there was still some up-to-date content.
Very well said.. I love the game. And find myself playing for hours and hours. But when I see that bar move only a fraction. It really burns me out. I would play it a lot more if I could get to 40 and would look forward to doing it with another character. Instead I don't play for weeks at a time.
I agree with number 1 WHOLEHEARTEDLY. Fix the grind it took me 6 weeks to level up 1 character to AT40 and 200 ascension points. When I say grind I mean never playing with other and just doing expos and trails over and over and over. Number two is sad but true. Number 3 I’ve been saying this and I’m so happy someone said it too! The crafting has gone down a lot because they limit us. Number 4 their communication is bad for sure. Great video! If all this gets fixed and addressed it’ll be huge for long! Like legit outriders is such an incredible game but they are ruining it for us.
They made things so grindy for 1 reason, to inflate playtime numbers so the game looks more successful to cooperate/shareholders, it happens in many games these days. The ridiculously unnecessary grind is what made me stop playing a few weeks back. I have over 1000 hours into the game and 300 since the expansion. I've played all of those 300 hours on my pyro and I have only got to Apoc T38. From the beta to New Horizons I played all 4 classes and loved experimenting with new builds at max level, they ruined that with this expansion. I tried to warn people fairly early into the expansion, but most people didn't want to believe me because they hadn't got to the real grind of the last 8 or 9 levels. I play a face roll eruption build that can clear rooms in 1 rotation and the final arbiter in about 15 seconds max, so I can't image how long Apoc T40 would take on a character with a different build. I'm positive that they made the game this grindy to inflate their play-time metric when they report to their parent company and/or shareholders. They'll nerf it after this quarter, or maybe year, is over, I have no doubt. I've been through this before with other games and it really makes players lose faith in the developers, with many not returning for the next expansion/game. Personally, I have had enough of games that are designed like this, and I'm so sick of companies designing games to waste my time so they can impress their cooperate overlords that it leaves a permanent bad taste that is hard to forget in the future. I, like all players, hate when a game is purposefully designed to waste my time, but we all love games that make us want to waste our time. The difference between the 2 is enormous
Hey LT, I know the grind of trying to follow multiple IP's, not being a full time creator AND holding down a 50+ hr a week job. We appreciate what you do and all the content that you bring to the table. Cheers!!

Have to say Buzz you've got some good points here and it definitely needs to be said. I genuinely believe that us ambassadors have a lot to offer when it comes to giving feedback on what would make the game better and extend its lifespan considering it isn't live service. The grindfest is a bit much for me too and it's frustrating but I do also understand their methodical approach to it. Reduce slightly, see how it goes, then look to reduce more if still too much bad feedback. I think we're now just waiting for that next reaction to our feedback.
Yes you guys do people can fly shoot listen to your guy's opinions like other companies for example destiny send me a message they want me to pay me $75 for an interview and I'm just a random player they understand that the community is gold
@@jljaguar28 I mean I suppose you could ask PCF if they want to do that but I suspect you wouldn't hear back from them. I think the overall feedback is quite overwhelmingly similar.
Regarding PCF (and many other companies) forcing players to play the game as they envisioned, it’s understandable to a degree. But DE did something with Warfame years ago that should be industry standard. Players began using a particular melee weapon/roll combo to traverse levels hyper fast, far faster than the game was meant for. What’d they do? They removed that mechanic, and designed an entirely new mechanic that gave players the same feel of freedom and mobility, while modifying the rest of the game after that point to fully utilize the new mechanics. Slow and stealthy space ninjas became lightning fast wall runners and bullet jumpers, leaping and pouncing on enemies with blink speed from all angles. PCF arbiter runs? Increase greatly the desired loot drops in trial rooms to encourage full gameplay, and add an arbiter boss fight as an optional side mission, where he has massively increased hp and fight longevity. A real challenge, and if successful, players get handsomely rewarded with XP (not so much with loot). Maybe a balance meter, where the more you solo run arbiter as opposed to full trial runs, the less loot he drops, but XP remains the same. But why am I typing. We’re past the point of good ideas, this is just impotent wistfulness.
I love how you managed to hit every topic we all have for the game. Amazing video. Too bad PCF will never care enough to see it or do anything about it.
TBH, it's been over a year since I last played Outriders. I'm a casual solo player who took up Outriders when bored with Destiny 2 & I hoped. Sadly disappointed 😥. I really wanted it to be good, but even back then it was such a grind, it just became laborious & tedious. I came back a couple of times, but now back in Destiny, as at least that changes, adapts & reinvents itself (admittedly not a great season this season mind). You're points are well made & spot on.
I believe that most video game companies are not listening to any users, not even the vetted, hard-core players, who (arguably) know more about the game than the developers do. The issue isn't one of "Oh, you need to make these changes or I'll stop playing", it's a matter of "Please change this, because it's hurting your player experience." I would like to suggest there be a mandatory 3rd party review board (much like ESRB, or internal game play testers, for all video games on the market, because many game developers have shown, through their own actions, they simply do not care about user input. This isn't to say "Influencers" with little-to-no experience should shape other players experience, it means that an outside body would force a developer to listen to feedback.
Great video Buzz, as per usual. Heartbreaking that PCF gave us a game that even with the bugs and glitches we bitched about in Discord, we truly loved playing for hundreds of hours, and them seemed hellbent on trying to destroy all of the things we loved about it with Worldslayer...😢💯💔
iM GOING TO SAY THIS, THAT I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST DESCENDANT COMES OUT, I JUST WANT A LOOTER SHOOTER TO ACTUALLY LIVE UP TO THE HYPE, AND I WANT THE FIRST DESCENDANT TO BE THAT LOOTER SHOOTER, PLUS ITS FREE......THIS MAYBE THE ONE!!!!
Those cheaters to me had 1 advantage.. they screwed up my devastator (it reset all my unlocked mods, lost my entire gear), they made me stop playing at all. No more worry 'well if i spent a few hours i might get in better water', or 'well i paid for it, so i play it', i literly have no point left playing :D
Always remember that Ouriders is not a live service game. Its like the days of old where we get a game, and some new stuff comes out for a year or 2. In the era of live service games, Outriders is a misnomer that has lived as well as it could.
As a casual player, I enjoy the game plenty. I still haven’t beaten the original campaign though, and I mostly play alone. I wonder if a lot of the issues are intentional 🤔 If I was a smaller studio that didn’t want to provide live and constant support to a looter shooter (like the Division franchise, Destiny franchise, etc), I would probably tune the game to encourage single player casual play too. This game is great as a looter shooter to jump into and just play for the grind itself. If you’re looking for more, I’m guessing they don’t want to (and can’t) support that. At least Outriders is challenging enough to require constant grind to keep pushing through. Division and Destiny are not. I have the same Division builds now as I had 1.5 years ago, and they still work in all high-level content. The only thing that will change that is more or changing content. I feel like that’s what PCF is trying to avoid with Outriders. Idk if that makes sense… Thanks for the vid Buzz!
Completely agree with you. I stopped playng because I'm tired of getting the same gear over and over. But for them to make changes because we're not playing the game the way they want us to was the last straw for me.
Im burnt out from the game, the end game grind is beyond ridiculous at this point....and as pointed out, the lack of being able to improve rarity to Apoc gear is insulting. You can literally grind a whole day with hopes of getting one Apoc piece that will work for your build and get nothing. The casuals have stopped playing this game, and the ones who want to continue to support this title are being insulted by PCF
i agree ,when worldslayer went live .... i played the game 3 or 4dayz and i was fed up with not leveling at all,its a shame i really love the game and also youre videos LtBuzzLitebeer, i have not touched the game any more
Another great vid, they really dropped the ball, the biggest issue i had was the upgrade costs. I was definitely lucky with how quickly i got my techno online but after 4 level i could no longer efficiently clear with decent speeds, Due to the insane upgrade costs instead of updating my build i was left with scrapping my working build for random pieces if higher levels and once again begin the grind from fresh, this happened at least 3/4 times in my endgame journey alone. Loving the content man, you’d fit right in with me and the lads at the bar when we spend all night discussing gaming 😂
I'm already burnt out just trying to get one character to LvL 40. I haven't been on in over almost 2 weeks now. It's just so repetitive and not as rewarding. Since they nerfed the final arbiter on lego drops, just getting there for xp isn't so rewarding as it use to but still the best way to do it but not as exciting. Those side areas they say they buffed is a joke, a few times I run through the entire TG, side areas and all and I get mostly nothing expecially when it comes to lego drops. I still get all the lego pieces I'm hunting from the final boss. Those side areas still drop junk mostly and not worth doing. Maybe we players should do a massive few days straight log out and see how PCF would react when there is no players on. Maybe then they might want to address our concerns.
I can narrow my reasons down to one: Linear content that ends far too shortly, with no randomization to it all. Trials was great....for like a week. There's no rotation to the encounters, no rotation to the gear. It's the same thing over and over until you hit lvl 75. The glee from watching things explode into gory confetti loses its charm eventually.
I've said this before on youtube and the Outriders IG account, I believe that Outriders would be more fun, and dare I say long lasting, if PCF would implement three empty slots to be moded allowing players to play their way. Also make the grind for these special empty slots hard to get, but worth grinding for them. This will solve two problems, 1. cheaters and 2. make Outriders fun/competitive.
reasons like this is why I keep going and playing Destiny 2.. I loved the main story quests.. with both the main game and dlc.. I got my monies worth with that.. I also bought both the main game and dlc on greenmangaming..
Dammm I just picked this up on game pass for the first time and I've seen a lot of videos telling me to turn away and all I was looking for was a beginners guide damm.
The game is so fun that I almost don't mind the grind, but....I wish they would make the third mod on legendary gear actually random (I've seen the same mod multiple times, so I know that's not the case). Make it so my damn abilities actually work when enemies spawn (thermal bomb, rupture, venator's knife, etc). My trickster depends on twisted rounds, yet hunt the prey doesn't work on the spider boss, so I'd be stuck with using borrowed time to make it work. Rather than fight the final artbiter 4x, offer up four choices of loot to save time and the grind. Offer more anomaly extract when doing expeditions. I could keep going and going with the suggestions.
Not listening to the player base was introduced by Rockstar/Take Two, just look at Red dead Online and how they totally ignore that player base from day 1. About the grind in outriders, i don't mind a grind when a game is fun to play, i played SOF2 for 5 years and City of heroes also about 7 years until they pulled the plug on it back then, nowadays most 'gamers' don't even want to put in some effort anymore, i think its a generation thing. I'm a 53 year old gaming fart and back in the day it was more about the social aspect in games, to have fun together in MMO's and co-op games, the grind didn't matter that much. We used TeamSpeak and even had real life meetings like once a year we came together for a weekend and went paintballing, barbecue etc etc. Everyone flew in from all around the world once a year, good times ! Also developers and gaming companies still listened to the player base and dedicated servers where still a thing, on SOF2 i did run my own server (rented) and we all payed for it together thru Paypal, we made our own skins, voice files, weapon skins etc etc, we even wrote our own punkbuster files and cheating was not a thing because anti cheat was still a normal thing in games. Nowadays this is all as good as gone..., greed took over at the gaming companies and that is mostly the fault of the gamers imho because they keep buying games from companies like that. Complaining on the internet doesn't help because people keep buying it anyways. I really hope this will change in the near future but the only solution is if the players stop paying for it. Till then i only play single players and buy games when they are on a big discount or 2nd hand, never ever will i pay for games from companies like this on release day, no pre orders, wont buy micro transactions or NFT. Only the players got the power to stop those companies. Just my 2 cents, greetings from the Netherlands !
Spot on Litebeer, eloquently stated ✊🏼 Such a sad situation, I too played both betas for Worldslayer, was so excited for the final product and was very impressed with the Apoc legendaries and Pax Tree additions, it’s just mind-boggling the route that PCF has gone with it. Imo, it has (and or had) the potential to have a massive following similar to Destiny 2. Seems like PCF are lazy however… Who knows, it could be a financial situation or perhaps politics going on behind scenes which seems to be the norm these days… ie, look what happened to Rockstar. Once you mentioned the removal of anti-cheat and the option now for players to completely destroy others accounts on a whim, the first thing that popped my mind is “oh lord, that’s it, game over” 🙄 Hoping for the best either or 🙏🏼… Perhaps PCF will catch us all off guard like they did with Worldslayer in the first place and have our backs…..we will see.
Not seeing the issues until it is too late is one thing. Being told what the dangers are way ahead of time and then still crashing into them is something entirely different. XP and the Apoc grind was known well in advance of Worldslayer going live. PCF decided not to address it and we see the results.
Thanks so much for the info! I just picked this up and have been crazy about this game. I have yet to try multiplayer, and by the sounds of things i won't. Very much appreciate the heads up!
i couldn't have said it better myself...you hit the nail on the head my friend...i enjoy ur videos since division 2 and agree with 95% of everything u say....ur doin a really good job buddy keep it up! 😁👍
Good video bro, pretty much echoing the thoughts of the majority of the game base. I don't mind a grind if there are rewards at the end of it. In this case it was just a vicious grind loop. I got to 38.5 WT and stopped and asked myself "why am i doing this, what is the point?". Haven't played since. Few tweaks could have improved the experience. Open up all Expos, set targeted loot daily, reward the game base with a unique Legendary all the way up to 40. Just something to keep me invested. The grind in this game and the expertise in Division 2 have definitely had a more negative impact than good. They have got the balance all wrong. Shame!
I got an idea... How about putting the builds to the test? Do expedition runs on the timer and compare builds and run times down to the expedition summary at the end of runs. Those States can be used to distinguish between the differences in builds and the time of the runs shows the efficiency of the overall build. Just an idea keep building bro
I loved this game when it 1st came out. Completed it solo and had a grate experience. Once I tried playing with others it was unplayable. That's when I put in down and never went back to it.
Great analysis again. The grind is crazy in this game. I gave playing after leveling my main to Apoc 36 and realizing that it would be another 32 or 33 runs of TG just to get the character to 40. The end game becomes totally repetitive after a while and makes the grind even worse.
Try another 200, 300, or more runs. I actual think it would be much more than 300. It takes 32 or more runs to complete Apoc Tier 36. I have 300 hours just in this expansion on 1 character and only got to Apoc T38 using a speed run eruption build that can kill the final arbiter in less than 15 seconds and clear whole rooms in 1 skill rotation. I took a screenshot of my Apoc bar after a full run of TG after I freshly leveled to Apoc 35 and it was literally barely noticeable. It was about half the width of one of the numbers they use for your exp. I have kept track of how much time each level took from apoc 33-38 and the time it takes to complete the next level goes up from 50% more than the previous level, to 100% more than the previous level, depending on the level. It's a nearly exponential increase from level to level, with each successive level increasing more than the last
Well done...well said..straight to the point!!! Hopefully at some pint PCF would listen and take care of all the base player that really wants to see this game succeed.
You could alter other player's characters even when the game still had EAC, people were just way less aggressive about doing it. Now people are pissed off at PCF and the game, and just want to set the world on fire.
The only way I was able to avoid the grind (and still grindy) is to get a friend to invite me to his Trial runs. It still take some time, but it bypasses a lot of the story stuff that locks you down with receiving greens and blues. I have other gripes with the game, like bullet builds being predominant. I like the fact that more builds are viable now a days with Worldslayer, but bullets are still king, which is boring AF.
I think Outriders can find itself into a nice market the way that games like Guild Wars 2 does in the MMO landscape of Smite does with MOBA's. However, they are going to have to start listening to THEIR fans instead of just chasing some kind of player boon that clearly doesn't exist. They've hemorrhaged almost all of their growth from the expansion dropping and are still losing players month by month. This in and of itself isn't the end of the world as the game isn't claiming to be a live service; however, what you can't do is have everyone be really negative when they do leave. When most people left after the initial release was very much a "this game is super fun to play but it's broken as shit" Which most players are willing to overlook if the game seems like it's fixed its issues. If when they leave this time if it's because "It's a slog and cheaters are rampant" That make it much harder to come back to when the next expansion drops.
The grind is SOOO real where I’m 70% into apoc 39 on my techno and apoc 33 on my dev and once I hit 40 on my techno I’M DONE!! oh yeah not to mention cheaters it’s so risky to have open lobby as you don’t know who’ll drop in and it’s so sad as I’d love playing with others but not anymore with the risk involved
You hit all the right points, it’s the time it takes to put a build together that really makes me play maybe once a week now, I just don’t feel rewarded for my time
Build diversity a big issue. They need to copy Nioh and have 1. Build save slots. 2. An item which allows reducing set bonus requirement by one or a function to allow dual set bonuses.
I still insist on them adding a procedurally generated game mode like the greater rifts in diablo, just no time trials please. So far its sooo repetitive, on hand with the grind, it burns up very fast.
@@LtBuzzLitebeer exacly. Similar to how underground is in Division 1, but a little more map variety. And it can be like expeditions lore wise, you are going to get a drop pod that landed somewhere, but its always a new random P.G. map.
Gamers in general need to change their perspective. Outriders was never designed to play indefinitely. Play and enjoy the content. Move on. Why the need to get to AP 40? I played the shit outta this when it released. Played world slayer DLC day one. I enjoyed my time playing it (200+hours), as I did my playthrough of cyberpunk (60+hours). It's all about the experience. I still log on to outriders every so often with a friend and it's nice to still have that sense of progression. So many good and interesting games out there to enjoy don't know how some of yall stick to just one ......
I completed the new campaign but literally logged out after I completed and gave up just knowing that I would have to go through the stupidly excessive grind. It is a shame the game had so much potential but pfc really have been showing how tone deaf they can be. Do not intend to pick it up again in the near future. With division2 new season starting I am going to jump back into that. Will still watch your videos. Great video. You hit the issues right on
I love th he video. I love this game but I have been trying to grind out 3 classes and just had to stop w my devastator at level 34...it's just taking too long. I will continue to play but this grind is just brutal. I do wish they had some sort of limited trade by maybe using unique item IDs that generate per player item so they can't be duped or something...even giving a friend 1 item in a time period or something would be nice. Sorry for rambling. I love this game and would like to see it get better.
I really enjoyed the game but when i couldn't find a group to do trials, doing the trials solo got boring real fast. But now hearing what a grp can do to my character im glad i wasn't able to find a grp. And now outriders is just another game in my library that wont get touched until some new content drops that I can play solo
The fact as a co-op favored player i only get a small amount of co op because i only can get it when the friend or 2 that got the game have hours overlapping and interest, because a game has the same issue that online play had in Cod World at War, long after its initial period of service, but in 2022 now, is mind boggling holy shit.
What you described on the Exp/Loot system and the bugs and exploits,it tells me the PCF fear of either finishing the game and people carving for more,or the lack of content it has, because if it was not for this, then it makes no sense for all those changes you talked about. And about craft system,to me is a letdown that they practically removed it,because crafting system to me is an endless loop where i can spend the time gathering the resources in order to make the items i want, witch kinda sux really. I wanted to buy this game but even with the offer is right now,i would not pay 60 bucks for this game, where there are games like warframe or destiny 2 to play. This one will survive for its single player capabilities and for the fact that there are many that jump in and regret later, witch give them the revenue they need in order to keep the game alive, witch is kinda sad,but what is that saying? ignorance is a bliss?
I wonder what would have happened with this game if it was in the shape it is now at the release. Everything works really good right now. The initial bugs probably scared a lot of gamers off. I still put several hours a day into the excruciating grind just because....there is no other game that gives the same amazing feeling when killing stuff! Maybe if some rich company took over this game and put that last ooompf into the development....then Outriders could actually become a classic.
I was hoping for a little better news out of the digital matrix here. But, so far most of what I'm hearing sounds right. The cheating was immediately noticeable, and though one might argue "their game is broken, or the EXP is too high." I actually saw cheating in the *OLD* Outriders game, which was a red flag for me. But, I assumed they would fix it in the NEW game. -What I think happened is completely independent of anti-cheat. It was due to the issue not being found or reported, and perhaps now it has grown. Perhaps they KNEW the code would not get updated, and if they waited, they would have open exploit into the game immediately. There are a lot of titles on the market, and I'd given them my full support. I really hope they can work it out, because I thought the game was a gem. The "Copycat" effect is real in the industry, and I would hate for them to lose out to a miss-step.
I think the fact that this game isn't live service or at least having regular content release is also something that really hurts this game. With the grind for Worldslayer being so long it's hard to stay invested in the grind when there's no change in the game.
Agree with all you say. Grinding it's to much, even The resources you want to upgrade your gear still to much; getting The Apoc Gear, ir weapon of your looking takes time, and a lot..
Buzz, at this point you've done more Worldslayer content than PCF. This was a full priced DLC with about 5 hours of actual content. It's crystal clear at this point that PCF viewed the grind as the endgame (as well as to boost the playtime numbers). Now I actually enjoy grindy games, but the grid needs to have a point. This is grinding only to make a number go up. The only thing you get for completing this grind is the ability to continue to do the same 5 hours of content (and/or the original base game) for the millionth time. Add to that the points you made about the limitations on build diversity (builds being the strongest part of the game imo) and that's why I uninstalled Outriders. Any future DLC are "on sale only" buys since that's the only way the price will match the content. It sucks because at it's core Outriders is a really fun game.
Thank you for posting this. I do want to one day play Outriders (the world looks interesting, the powers are cool, and the armor is great), but the more I know about it the clearer it becomes that it will be a fun but brief distraction. If I see it on discount pretty cheap I'll snag it but otherwise I'll hold off.
And this was PCF last chance for me to play anymore of their games in the future. Wont be playing anything with their name on it for a very long time. Got to cut out the bad gaming companies/practices.
Heh. Bad devs then, bad devs now. What’s new? Tons of pointless nerfs, losing your entire character…yeah. Deleted and never looked back. Could have been so much better if the devs tried to listen to players instead of doing the opposite.
I think at some point in development, this was supposed to be a live service game but since Squeenix got absolutely butchered for Avengers, this game was switched around. What you see right now is the remnants of that design, the loot, the grind that was all supposed to tie in to some live service content updates but since there is none, you have to artificially force the grind or risk players breezing through content quickly, at which point they will again complain. It really is a no win situation.
I am playing Outriders right now. And despite all the grind the one issue that bothers me the most is that all the grind leads effectively to nothing. All you get is an increase in numbers. That's it. There are no new enemies unlocked at apoc level 10, or new gear at apoc level 20. All you get is the exact same loop of 1 level up, grinding for resources, level up your gear and do the same again only with higher stats. There is absolutely no point in continuing once you have a build that can kill the Arbiter in the first ten seconds. None at all. And that can be achieved at level 10 already. That is ultimately what makes me stop playing: No actual gain in playing. I only play now because I never tried a pyro before. Once I got that one working it's good bye Outriders again.
I haven't played the game outside the first couple level in beta but what's wrong with a long xp grind? Diablo 2 requires a lot of time- maybe months of regular play- invested to reach max level yet there's been people playing the game for decades. They'll do it all over again every couple months on ladder/season resets. I was under the impression that Outriders is closer to Diablo than Destiny or Division because there's a finite amount to do and that's not necessarily bad for a game.
My biggest push factor, the fact you have to discover your perfect controller setting to make the game playable for console. If not your shooting a water hose.
I cant stand how clicking the left trigger stops you from running once youve already started. Gets you killed in panic or high octane sotuations. Its Such a small thing but beyond excruciatingly annoying. Run cancelling via thumb stick click should absolutely NOT be a thing in any third person shooter. At all! EVER!!
The second mass nerfing is what drove me away. Loved the game even despite it's corny story but the endgame mixed with builds being destroyed every update with little mercy or thought for how long it took people to grind for said builds just made me frustrated
I bought this game, but never played it. Watching your video made me think about Anthem and Godfall, I'm starting to think this game is not worth playing, if there's a lot of grinding involved, I do enough of that in Destiny 2. I won't be playing this game til I see improvements. I'll keep my eyes open and my hopes up.

Glad I watched this video, I had no idea other people could hack my client.
Just found your channel tonight. Gonna get you one sub closer to 100K.
Fantastic and valid observations.
One if the main problems with the excruciatingly long XP grind to Apoc Tier 40 (for each of the 4 character classes) is that it demonstrates a complete lack of respect for the players’ time. I feel personally insulted by this lack of respect for my valuable time.
Well stated.
That’s how I feel here and Division 2! Been playing since day 1 and just don’t have the time to put into it.
Totally agree 👍
Took me 5 days to get from 39 to 40,terrible if you want to upgrade all 4 characters. Notice there is no trophy for hitting tier 40 or level 200.
Why do you need to be at Teir 40? I don't understand this gripe...
The big shame is that Outriders core gameplay is just so good. The gunplay , the abilities, chaining all the carnage, the enemies exploding. It all feels and looks so good
Absolutely especially on series x love outriders but I'm only doing the massive grind on my pryo main
I honestly don't know, but the grind doesn't need to be the rough.
Appreciate the praise Donnie.
I have had the same thought myself
@@LtBuzzLitebeer I always thought it was cut content if you look at the new epic weapons you can see some of them in early previews of the base game and even in the tutorial screen for crafting early in the game. Pretty sure the full version of the opening screen shows that bird flying through Black Gulch. Definitely unfinished content released one year later at an insulting price imo.
@@ogatak4158 🤔
@@la7era1u54 me too
I agree whole heartedly, and points 1 and 3 resonate most with me.
So. Much. This.
The First Descendant looks like it might be a good replacement to Outriders. I might give that game a shot
That game will soon get ripped apart by the herd community I bet
Don't forget Arc Riders.
I've seen bits and pieces of it, but may give it a longer look very soon.
Yep
everything is a good replacement.
I love outriders and worldslayer I am also a huge destiny 2 player as well as division series as well. I just wish we had more content to play instead of same expeditions and tarya gratar all the time. But hopefully they figure this out cause I love this outriders world let's see what they can do
Agreed!
A raid, similar to Destiny, where you get random raid loot drops you can only get via the raid would be awesome.
A horde mode would be awesome
@@ryanmattin 👍
@@djhergert1995 that would not work in outriders. Unless they add anti cheat and are willing to add more complex mechanics.
I hear you.
Kind of sucks for me, as I didn't buy Worldslayer. So trying to find build guides or optimal settings guides that aren't outdated... is hard to do. I recently came back to the game to just mess around and was hoping there was still some up-to-date content.
I'll come back when they drop the next part to Worldslayer and I can punch "Father" in the face.
The changes need to be made to favor the players, and this is where it really does feel like they are made to hinder our progress.
Cheers!!
I remember when people said this game would be a Destiny killer. I had a good laugh at that😆
The grind is brutal. We need more content. Loot drops are terrible. The game has so much potential but this video is spot on.

Too bad PCF will never care enough to see it or do anything about it.
the thing I hate about the DLC endgame is that it's so repetitive
Indeed it is. 👍
Right now, the game is in a very bad state. They need a anti-cheat and also decrease the Apocalypse Tier grind.
Agreed on both points. 👍
This is such a good game with glaring issues as your video shows. Underneath it all is one of the best looter shooters ive ever played.
👍
Its very good imo fix matchmaking tweak mods fix bugs
Maybe randomize the rooms in trials of tartar sauce, also need loadouts, and change 2 mods on gear instead of 1.
All have been asked for in the past, and all have not been added or changed.
Yes sir, and good to see you out and about. 👍
Wait deagle? Found your keyboard again? 😬
iM GOING TO SAY THIS, THAT I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST DESCENDANT COMES OUT, I JUST WANT A LOOTER SHOOTER TO ACTUALLY LIVE UP TO THE HYPE, AND I WANT THE FIRST DESCENDANT TO BE THAT LOOTER SHOOTER, PLUS ITS FREE......THIS MAYBE THE ONE!!!!
That's what happened to my friend we join a random player we did a couple of missions and
Host left my friend end up butt naked with no gear
Hit me up. I can fix that for you.
I wonder if a lot of the issues are intentional 🤔
If I was a smaller studio that didn’t want to provide live and constant support to a looter shooter (like the Division franchise, Destiny franchise, etc), I would probably tune the game to encourage single player casual play too. Idk if that makes sense…
Thanks for the vid Buzz!
I absolutely love the game, but can only take the grind 40 to 50 hours at a time every few months.
Exactly.
Completely agree with you. I stopped playng because I'm tired of getting the same gear over and over. But for them to make changes because we're not playing the game the way they want us to was the last straw for me.
I got my platinum trophy and beat the final arbiter at apocalypse level 28, after that I saw no point in senseless grinding after that.
The First Descendant will absolutely destroy what's left of Outriders
I can narrow my reasons down to one: Linear content that ends far too shortly, with no randomization to it all. Trials was great....for like a week. There's no rotation to the encounters, no rotation to the gear. It's the same thing over and over until you hit lvl 75. The glee from watching things explode into gory confetti loses its charm eventually.
I've said this before on youtube and the Outriders IG account, I believe that Outriders would be more fun, and dare I say long lasting, if PCF would implement three empty slots to be moded allowing players to play their way. Also make the grind for these
special empty slots hard to get, but worth grinding for them.
Spot on Litebeer, eloquently stated ✊🏼
Such a sad situation, I too played both betas for Worldslayer, was so excited for the final product and was very impressed with the Apoc legendaries and Pax Tree additions, it’s just mind-boggling the route that PCF has gone with it.
Imo, it has (and or had) the potential to have a massive following similar to Destiny 2. Seems like PCF are lazy however… Who knows, it could be a financial situation or perhaps politics going on behind scenes which seems to be the norm these days… ie, look what happened to Rockstar.
Once you mentioned the removal of anti-cheat and the option now for players to completely destroy others accounts on a whim, the first thing that popped my mind is “oh lord, that’s it, game over” 🙄
Hoping for the best either or 🙏🏼… Perhaps PCF will catch us all off guard like they did with Worldslayer in the first place and have our backs…..we will see.
@Jessica Kle thank u Jessica, that one hit me…epic 😞
Not seeing the issues until it is too late is one thing. Being told what the dangers are way ahead of time and then still crashing into them is something entirely different. XP and the Apoc grind was known well in advance of Worldslayer going live. PCF decided not to address it and we see the results.
@@LtBuzzLitebeer you definately have a good point 🤔
Thanks so much for the info! I just picked this up and have been crazy about this game. I have yet to try multiplayer, and by the sounds of things i won't. Very much appreciate the heads up!
i couldn't have said it better myself...you hit the nail on the head my friend...i enjoy ur videos since division 2 and agree with 95% of everything u say....ur doin a really good job buddy keep it up! 😁👍
I'm not worrying about dropping a table minimum or 2 on dlc.
I never miss it and still like it as a shooter
Ok.
Shame!
They killed their own game nerfing loot.
Exactly.
It's a nearly exponential increase from level to level, with each successive level increasing more than the last
Lol more than 30+ more runs
Well done...well said..straight to the point!!! Hopefully at some pint PCF would listen and take care of all the base player that really wants to see this game succeed.
Love the timing: 'let' s dive right into'.... The adds.. 😂😂
You could alter other player's characters even when the game still had EAC, people were just way less aggressive about doing it. Now people are pissed off at PCF and the game, and just want to set the world on fire.
It was NEARLY as prevalent then as it is now.
I was looking to buy the game, but thank you for the heads up. Not willing to spend so much hours just grinding.
👍
The grind is SOOO real where I’m 70% into apoc 39 on my techno and apoc 33 on my dev and once I hit 40 on my techno I’M DONE!! oh yeah not to mention cheaters it’s so risky to have open lobby as you don’t know who’ll drop in and it’s so sad as I’d love playing with others but not anymore with the risk involved
You hit all the right points, it’s the time it takes to put a build together that really makes me play maybe once a week now, I just don’t feel rewarded for my time
PCF devs are the War Hammer of video games.
I’m so glad I didn’t buy the DLC
Me too!
I wish I didn’t
Yeah same here. Once I saw the price... I decided no and walked away.
same i knew this would simply repeat the trainwreck it was on launch and said fk this
fool me once shame on them fool me twice shame on me 😅
Same
I’m level 40 techno; and you’re right; just don’t feel like grinding like I did
Build diversity a big issue. They need to copy Nioh and have 1. Build save slots. 2. An item which allows reducing set bonus requirement by one or a function to allow dual set bonuses.
New sub. Love how clear, precise, and informative you are. Thx
❤️
I dont understand nerfs on a pve only game you kill those builds you kill the player base
I still insist on them adding a procedurally generated game mode like the greater rifts in diablo, just no time trials please. So far its sooo repetitive, on hand with the grind, it burns up very fast.
P.G. levels would add in that much needed chaos to the battle areas.
I agree I have 2 pyromancer builds 2 technomancers, one trickster, and one devastator, it took for ever to get my one technomancer to level 40
This sounds like the exact video I listened to earlier today from the Full Measure. Same points
Just a note that EAC can cause a ton of issues sometimes, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.
I love and hate this game at the same time.
Well put, pretty much hit on all universal issues in player base.. it’s like PCF what are your thoughts on this?
Agree with all you say.
Grinding it's to much, even The resources you want to upgrade your gear still to much; getting The Apoc Gear, ir weapon of your looking takes time, and a lot..
The First Descendant will be the nail in the coffin for Outriders when it releases
Agree on all points. Thanks, Buzz!
No, thank you Dano.
Understood 👍
You know what it is ok thank you for doing this and I stop playing a long time ago I hope you are doing well thank you for the video
Thank you Justin.
