    Tightening torque on the belt tensioner clamping bolt is 75 Nm (55 ft-lb). Thank you, Pierre.

    Change it! Stop wrenching on it trying to save a few bucks. Also, buy the right belt like Pierre mentioned in one of his other videos. Take care of her and she will take care of you.

    Tensioner failed 20 miles up a dirt road picking up a hiker on Mt Rainier in my 2000 e320. Coasted down from 7,000 feet and got cell service. Searched and amazingly I found a tensioner at nearby Autozone and almost coasted the whole way watching my temp gauge as I fired up the motor for short durations. Fixed it in the parking lot… couldn’t believe I pulled that off. Great motor not so great benz so now drive a sweet 93 300d

    I need to find an alternator mounting assembly for my ‘84 300TD ... some ham-fisted hack skipped replacing a broken tensioner bolt and over-torqued the other bolts to keep it in place. Pelican screwed me, letting me order major components that were not in stock. DYING in SC

    Is it possible that the tensioner got fatique.When you tighten the belt I run out of thread ?? And a smaller belt doesn't fit. I am talking about a 2445 belt cause a 2415 doesn't fit by all means. And by running out of thread I ruined the thread !!! A1032000870

    Uncanny timing! I am literally doing this exact replacement on an M103 as I watch this! Febi tensioner failed entirely!

      @@shaazy Well this event was now over 3 years ago for me, but the belt was squealing at times when cold or when the steering wheel was turned to full lock, and the A/C compressor would shut down due to belt slippage being detected.

      @shaazy Рік тому

      @@Johnathan_Waters Oh sorry overlooked that. Thanks a lot for remembering! I had a squeal and some AC clutch issues of late, the squeal went away after changing the belt but the AC clutch seems to be dragging. It spins slowly with pulley after AC is off when it's supposed to be completely still. AC is still working, and clutch engages when AC is on to spin at same pace as pulley, so I guess I'll wait till it completely dies. hehe
