Excellent explanation. I have one question about the optical wire: when I replaced the wire as told, there is no sound. But when I don't install the optical cable, I've got sound through aux...and everything seems to work fine. Is this okay or should the optical wire be plugged in at all times, for other functions perhaps? 2nd, my car came with satnav but the unit seems unable to use the OEM GPS signal? With the extensions it does work. Is this normal?
Hey, any tips on how to remove the connector at 02:25 ? It looks easy when you did it, but i couldn't get it out. Do i have to press at the right corner or should i just pull even harder?
Brother of mine bought a unit and we tried to install in 2016 bmw x1 but the head unit is stuck and we can't get it out cause the wire behind the stereo are not long, what should we do ? do we need to open any other parts ?
When tapping into the reverse wires for positive and negative do you need to use a relay to power the camera as I've taped into the reverse wires directly, when I put my car into reverse I see no screen

my fiancé installed mine last week we are having a couple problems was wondering if you knew the answers. 7.1 android version. Sound from Music apps only coming from 2 speakers. Aux not ran to armrest. Nav from unit works all speakers. (no original nav without it). Had Idrive, no nav. When you turn Bluetooth on it gets stuck on turning bluetooth on. Bluetooth wont discover any devices. Also Regular radio stations now have extreme static. Would you by any chance know the fix for any of these problems? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I've done this however when I try to switch to bmw screen it says "no signal". The idrive works, I can play a CD and radio. The android side works. I've even changed the display connecting cable but no luck. Any advice? Thanks

yes it does and doesn't need any programming.

Same. I think there has something to do with the pink wire that says "camera det." (Camera detected).
