I presume face count is the number of polys. I used to take my model from mudbox to 3D coat to retoplogise, but this looks a lot faster. I am on mudbox 2018 at the moment

The best way to blend 2 meshes into one, and with sculptural purposes, is to go to Meshmixer, run an Boolean Union operation, or in the case of more than 2 meshes, combine them into one, and run an Make Solid operation in Meshmixer too, and come back to Mud for continue working on the solid piece wiht DynaTess.
