When you pop the handle open, there is a magnet holding the blade to one side. It's hard to see bit it should be there.

Just bought this “craftsman” utility knife. I have “Craftmsn” tools from years ago that were great. This is a piece of junk, plastic interior breaking and I haven’t even used it yet! Don’t buy this thing.

Reviewing a $10 knife, and disappointed that it should have been manufactured to perform as good, if not better than, a "more-than-$10" knife.
Is Craftsman, or any other manufacturer, supposed to put superior engineering into a cheap throwaway? It's just a knife, that cuts as good as the quality of whatever blade is in it.
It's "good enough", to "great" for a LOT of people that have something that they want to cut, but don't need anything fancy or overpriced. And this one seemed to fall into your price-range. If you're not a full-blast, pro contractor (or don't work for one)... the quick-change feature, alone, makes it well worth it. A $10 knife shouldn't be even considered to be a part of a tool pouch of anyone with high standards, and unrealistic expectations. But... Imagine if that knife was all you had. Not THAT bad. Was it?
For $10... you get a $10 knife. You got exactly what you paid for.

Maybe. But this POS is not worth $10. I have a $5 Craftsman knife that's superior to this model in every way, without false advertising. I use utility knives all day, every day. I prefer the ToughBuilt brand, but even their $10 knife is garbage. I even opened up a brand new one on camera, and it was still garbage. However, ToughBuilt did contact me, and tried to make it right, and they stopped production on the Subcompact, to check it. Lets see if Craftsman responds. I know a lot of people love the Milwaukee Fastback, Which is more than $10, and still garbage. The Fastback has horrible blade retention, its always loose. So I suppose, if the general consensus says something is good when it's not, that company can do no wrong, and people will continue to buy the garbage, as if its a status symbol.

@@Survival-gyver While I appreciate your candid take on the subject... it sounds more like you've masked your contempt for the manufacturers by doing this review. I thought you were simply disappointed with the knife, as it relates to quality. But now, I sense that you have a bigger issue with their ethics, which I don't feel the need to offer my input, opinion, nor my concern. For me.. it's just a knife. However... my opinions don't make your opinions any less valid.
I have no desire to argue. You'll do what's right for you, as you should. And that's the end of it. Best of luck with your channel, and your endeavors.

This is the absolute worse and most dangerous utility knife I have ever used. This is basically a heavy duty box cutter. It needs to be discontinued and redesigned. This knife is an accident waiting to happen. Not worth the money. 👎🏾👎🏾
