Great video! The marches played were, 1) 0:01-Glorious Victory 2) 3:44-National Emblem 3) 8:24-Scotland the Brave & Highland Laddie 4) 12:18-Wellington 5) 14:53-Sons of the Brave 6) 17:34-Soldiers of the King 7) 20:51-March to the Everest
they're very good. they're musicality is beyond most of the other bands which is pretty amazing because those aren't native instruments. I grew up playing euphonium in a family of musicians so huge difference. A French horn has to be alien to them. Is there nothing that a Gurkha does not excel at? It's pretty mind-boggling because they didn't grow up playing those instruments in school.
Well they do heavy drill if they’re marching with regiments that only do heavy drill as opposed to their light drill, they obviously also change the music
Gurkhas excel at everything, but definitely their band is above most and that's rather amazing considering the instruments are alien. They don't just play notes, they are very sensitive to music. They bleating away like lost sheep; they're attentive to phrasing, dynamics and development. They're good. If hey went to a band competition, they'd definitely be winning candidates.
Thank you. This is interesting. I wonder how many of these Nepalese guys could play instruments or read music notation before they joined the British Army. I make their march tempo flexing between 112 and 110, but in the drums solos they possibly drifted below 110, which is not what I would have expected. Their brass instruments are silver plated, as per the Royal Marines, but unlike other British Army bands which seem to be mostly (all?) brass/lacquered.
Hmm. The changing of the guard parade at Windsor is always overseen by several armed police. Here there's not even the local bobby. Why the difference?
These are not so much drum solos as drum breaks to give the band blowing members a chance to change music march cards and have a chance to get a short rest from blowing, it's quite strenuous marching and blowing , l know from experience ! 😂
Mercenaries do not undergo selection which has about a 4-5% pass rate, before basic training. They volunteer to serve with the British forces, and get army pay for it. They are amazing people, keen to fight with our armed forces and will willingly demonstrate their skills when their duties allow.
@@ATurtle05 They are hired soldiers........mercenaries. Nepal is a poverty stricken country and they do this soldiering because the men have no employment opportunity in their homeland Nepal.

Thank you for taking the time to provide information re: the music.
thanks
These men are proud of their country and the service they bring to England some of the very best we are proud to have them
Actually, they bring their service to the UK. England is not the UK.
@@miken891 Exactly.
Ati ramro video.
Nice video.
Band of Gurkhas looking great.
The Band of the Royal Gurkha Rifles seem to love the march "Glorious Victory"! Id say its an excellent choice.
Its a fine tune especially for the Trombones. I love playing that❤
Brilliant thanks for posting so glad they are on our side
Fantastic video of the Gurkhas Military Band. Excellent Loved every minute o the music
The ROYAL GURKHA RIFLES Band obviously have reduced their regulation pace to not leave the Cadets behind.
There are speed cameras along that street...
😅😅 Good observation
Well they do heavy drill if they’re marching with regiments that only do heavy drill as opposed to their light drill, they obviously also change the music
That’s their slow march 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I remember preparing for the freedom of Sandhurst back in 1967, for some reason it didn't happen. Tha Academy had its own band then .
Yes, back then the RMA Sandhurst band was considered a corps of its own, the smallest corps in the Army at the time.
I recently covered the Band in an Instagram Post, very interesting Band! Shame it was disbanded!

Jaya Mahakali, Ayo Gorkhali!
THE GURKHAS ? SAY NO MORE .
Hmm. The changing of the guard parade at Windsor is always overseen by several armed police. Here there's not even the local bobby. Why the difference?
Because the Officer Cadets at Sandhurst do not need police protection!!!
With their fighting prowess it would be a very brave lunatic to annoy them 😮
Didn't know the band of rifles played drum solos!
All bands play drum solos, I’m under the impression they’re not allowed on public duties though
It's the royal gurkha rifles band

Gurkha Ho!
There was an officer from Pakistan army too in the parade.
🚎Transfer to new place,bt it raining little bit✈
Why do they play the US National Emblem March @ 3:44?
Fantastic.

Do the Gurkhha band do the same training as the infantry?
Colonel Boogeymarch.

All the video shows is the band. I would rather see the cadets marching.
😂😂A LACK LUSTURE PARADE.
