I think i like this better than crescents seat riser, i have it, but would love to have the under seat storage for tackle, ect. definitely getting more into the diy mods this winter on it.

Yes, you can definitely store things under the seat. I like the angled seat position. It is more comfortable for me.

@@Aksmaniyak yes I would prefer 3 inches in the back and 5 in the front.

Very detailed. I did the same type thing for my perception pescador pro. Might have to try this for my new ultraLite

I’m going to do that to to my ul how is it?

@@jackritter4805 Honestly, after having my UL for awhile now....I would never use a seat riser. The boat is too tippy even with the stock seat. I usually use my hobie outback seat when I take the UL. It's 2 inches lower than the stock seat and WAY more stable. ua-cam.com/video/c5RxrnR3ctI/v-deo.html

Would spraying some flex seal in the hole secure it better so the pvc doesn't cut into the hull? I'm 240 lbs plus an looking at the Crescent Crew to modify as well. Great video & appreciate the info.

Very nice. Like every thing about this. Any movement or rotation with the seat frame and PVC cradle? I understand it’s secured with the clamp, is further stabilizing needed. ie thin bolt or pin through the frame and PVC?

Thanks Steve. I didn't have a rotational issue but I can see if somebody is heavy (I'm 205 lb) that a pin/bolt might be needed.

Not to change the subject but… I’m currently thinking hard about selling my OK ( Ocean Kayak) Malibu 2XL and my OK Trident Prowler 13 (circa 2018) for a new Crescent Crew tandem. In the Army and moving two yaks around kinda a pain. Thought the Crew would be a good solution for solo or tandem fishing. Are you happy with your Crescent single yak. I’ve only had OK yaks?

It is a very stable kayak with a big open hull. I've never owned a tandem kayak so I can't help with that. Stay safe and thank you for your service!

I agree with @Aksmaniyak and thank you for your service.
I have a crew. Very stable as solo. Can’t talk wife into riding with me but with 600 lb capacity, it’s more than able. I fish solo with the crew and only negative is moving 78 lb on dry land. In the water, it tracks awesome and fishes solid. I haven’t stood up to fish but I imagine it’s able.

Do you think this would work the same on the ck1 venture?

I haven't tried it but it might. If you try it, please update the thread. Thanks Thomas.

How many inches about the deck is this?

    • @Aksmaniyak
      @Aksmaniyak  2 роки тому

3 inches. The specs and parts are listed in the narrative.

Thanks Daniel. I wouldn't use flex seal. You could try a piece of rubber.

@@Aksmaniyak Appreciate that info. I didn't know, I never used it but it looks like it would work. I won't risk it then, thanks.

Does the PVC ever slip because of your weight?
