    d is measured from extreme compression fiber to the centroid of tension bar. In case the beam will be subjected to a clockwise bending or a sad beam, then the topmost will be subjected to tension. So, not all the time d is from the topmost of beam.

    Hi Sir, tanong ko lang po. Paano po nakuha yung sa (RHO)maximum na 0.0247? ginamit ko po yung formula at substitute lang po pero yung sa calculator ko is 0.01791 ang dt/d po di ba ay (1)?

      Hello! It's a correction. Pero it doesn't matter naman since hindi umabot yung rho sa rho max.

      It depends on the ductility of the beam which is based on the provided reinforcement. If the beam is ductile enough, let us say the rho actual is between rho min and 50% of rho max - the compression reinforcement has no significant effect on the nominal capacity. Otherwise, you will just see the significant effect when your rho actual is near equal to rho max.

    Tanong lang sa problem 2 diba Yung Mu ata na nagamit mali uniform load palang yun. So need pa mahanap Yung max moment given Yung uniform load na galing sa load combo. Pero Yung di given if Yung beam is simply supported or ano. Kaya di masosolve ano yung Mu

    Sir. Sana mag add po kayo ng vid like this prob po for SRB.
    "Design a rectangular beam for a 6m simple span to support a deadload of 29kN/m (including its estimated beam weight) and live load of 44kN/m. Use rho max, fc'=27.6 MPa and fy=276 MPa.
    Or can anybody help me w/this prob. Coz i saw one, but with touch of NSCP 2001😔 (need NSCP 2015)

    sa problem 2 nman sir yung factor na gamit mo sa Rn is 0.9. pero nung kinuha mo yung rho max, 3/7 (0.004) yung ginamit mo, nasa transition naman yun sir. sir d ko macompose ng maayos yung tanong ko, pero malabo kasi sakin kung alin sa dalawa ang gagamitin, 3/7 o 3/8 ba.

      Same lang ang makukuha, iba lang ang order ng operations. I prefer na icompute muna ang design load using 1.2DL and 1.6LL then compute yung ultimate moment

      Because 3/7 would give a steel strain of 0.004, which is the minimum acceptable strain.
      If 3/8 ang gagamitin mo, ang corresponding steel strain would be 0.005, which is tension controlled na.
