This information is so needed, especially for persons who want to start a business or even want to advance their current business but feel stuck. Joshua thank you for sharing and especially, big thanks to bajan family abroad for doing these informative videos. Krystal, you did an excellent job, asking the questions you asked. I hope this video is helpful to persons as it was to me, persons who are looking to start a business in Barbados that is. Again Krystal and Joshua great job, much appreciated.
In my experience, I think we do not perform adequate market research before going into investment. There is an attraction to appear as though you have "started a business", but without fully assessing the market and its sustainability for the business. I am glad to see Barbadians opening, sharing and talking seriously about money and launching and growing business!
You’re very right, I’ve seen the same as well. However what I’ve also found personally is that having a company doing Market research locally may be prohibitive in terms of the upfront costs required. Unless you know how to do effective market research and focus groups yourself costs may be prohibitive for small businesses. Some ppl may take the risks and if the company does fail hopefully it fails fast without burning too much cash. The good thing abt Barbados in my opinion is that it’s small enough to know whether something will do well or not quickly.
@@bajanfamilyabroad - Ahh!!! We have got to be people who need to learn to play the long game. Playing the long game requires sacrifice plus a demonstration of courage and initiative. There is a tendency towards realizing profits too early or to have too low an aim. Also, we seem to have a cultural block towards sharing about what sacrifices have to be made in order to see long-term results. When I say long game, I am also thinking about being able to convey the business that you have developed on to the next generation and that they run with the baton and on the work started. Easy to start up, get an overdraft from the bank, and start running a business and keep up the appearances of running a business, but we have got to dig deep and deeper and unify. Having this conversation is helpful, with start up ideas, but cutting a path onwards we must go!!!!
Hello! This is Antonio Piedra, I represent a Spring Water bottling company in Venezuela. We would like to export our high quality spring water to Barbados. Can you give me some guide lines ?
Hello, thank you very much for sharing this information, I am interested in the work as a medical doctor, if you are so kind to give me information, I will appreciate it. Congratulations
