The Hehuan Mountains（English）

The Hehuan mountain area is the perfect showroom for allopatric speciation. Towering mountains, plunging valleys, the micro-topography and the climate all serve as barriers to genetic exchange, and promote speciation as well.
The endemism in the high mountains not only shows how unique the environment is, it also highlights the fragility of it. The diversified habitats are small in area, and are thus highly susceptible to threats of destruction or pollution.
The mountains nurture all life forms, provide sustenance, and bring harmony to nature.
