I dare you to find a better game in its category.
@RedEffect I have a question can you explain what is the purpose of those rubber plates that hang on the turrets ? . Also I think it would be awesome if you could do a video in depth of different Russian and US components of armor . Like T-64 Quarz core , Textolite , etc ( composition, resistance ,effects on different ammo )
AK 47 I’m not even Indian WTF. Also the abrams does have a weak upper glacis, it does not have any composite behind it, and has no ERA in front of it. It’s literally a very sloped steel plate

Same thing with aircraft carriers, without any escorts then it's just a fancy billion dollars piece of scrap that is vulnerable to virtually any form of attack. People generally think that a single large piece of war machine are some superweapon that takes an insane amount of firepower to bring one down.
Face it, the great era of tanks is coming to a close. They're becoming like dinosaurs more and more. All tanks nowadays can easily be neutralized by enemy with decent portable anti tank weapons. If the Soviet Union had starting mass producing German Panzerfaust weapons, the tank era would have ended right there.
The Turkish Leo 2's are A4 version. Produced in the 80's and never upgraded . Also the Turks didn't used the Leo's in a smart way . Driving in a urban area without infantry support is like asking to get an anti tank rocket shot right in your face .

Compareing the leopard 2a4 with the latest 2a7 is like compareing the t72b with the t90m. The latest leopard 2a8 or ng2 is probably the best in the world .
Well some people would argue the t72-b version is better that any t-90 . Both tanks are literally equal garbage . The optics are medieval compared to almost any other mbt produced right now. Nightfight capability is Zero in both tanks .Not even the russian doctrine can excuse that anymore .
@@GreatPolishWingedHussars it is. It actually is a pretty bad tank and one reason why Scholz won't give them to ukraine is probably the fear that the low quality of the L2 is recognized all over the world.
@@GreatPolishWingedHussars German weapon systems are hopelessly overrated. The Leopard 2 in particular, for whatever reason. The tank has so many problems and flaws that I wonder why anyone would consider it the "best tank". The armor is way too weak - because they wanted to save money to be able to manufacture and sell the tank cheaply. The armor corresponds to the technology of the 1960s and is probably not even superior to the T72. Unprotected ammunition is stored in the hull - one hit and it explodes. Also reminiscent of the T72 of the Russians. The range of the gun is rather short compared to other Western tanks. The only advantage of the Leopard 2 is the low price - it costs a lot less than Challenger or Leclerc or K2. That's the only reason this outdated tank was bought like crazy. In Ukraine, it would suffer similar losses as the T72 - because the Leopard is no better than that. The Ukrainians only want the L2 because 20 states use it and therefore many are available. Understandable, but no proof of quality. Germany would be well advised not to buy the next tank from the incompetent German manufacturers who have already sold the next heap of scrap with the Puma. However, the Germans are absolutely incapable of learning and believe that they always have "the best" device. By the way, I'm German and can only shake my head at this stupid attitude. Poland is absolutely right to buy the K2. Probably far superior device.
You completely forget the military doctrine for which the Leopard 2 was designed. During the whole cold war and many years Later, The german armed forces where purely a defencive force. The Leopard 2 was designed with hull down pre dug / pre surveyed fireing possitions for defencive and delaying tactics. Since every MBT has to be a compromise in some points, otherwise you end up with Maus. Further more, the thermal imagine unit was not pressent in the 1979 released Leopard 2, since it was not fully developed at that time. Thus the Leopard 2A1 received the thermal imaging sight, the Leopard 2A2 where then retrofited Leopard 2. Also with your critisim of the commander periscope, that was pressend already on the 1979 model, where i.e. the Abrams only received it with the M1A2 model. I give you that, yes, it is kinda a joke that the commander sight received 3 upgrades by the time the gunner sight received it's first :-) As for the ammo storrage in the hull, yes that would be a weak point, but again, doctrine hull down, not offence, yet the front is well armored, so also the heavy side skirts on the front. Also, yes, sides are weaker than the front, which is normal, as for compromise, otherwise you get a Maus, not to speak of the roof, which is just a few cm of Steel. Back to the ammo storrage, that problem has been resolved by other means, the new propelants are much less likely to cook off when struck. German doctrine sets on a highly mobile tank, not on a sitting somehow mobile bunker. Not sure what you where going on about the fire suppresion system, but the Leopard 2 has a halon gas based fire suppresion system, with 2 operatrional modes, open flame detection and sparc detection. Open flame would be for combat operations with no enemy contact expected, sparc detection for battle situations. I don't know how much of that is public knowledge, so I will not go deeper in that system. Also the composit armore package was upgraded several time in the life time of the Leopard 2. I will also admit, that the german version is by far not "the best" version of the Leopard 2, already back in my days, when we just received the 2A5, the Sweeds had their much more modern StrV 122 I'm realy looking forward to the german forces receiving the Leopard 2A7A1 with the best part beeing, BRAND NEW HULLS :-) Edit: for the "modernized" A4 variants, none of those are from KMW, those are inexpensive retrofit packs for Leopard 2A4 operator countrys that don't have the means or willingness to fully upgrade too an A5 turret.
@@diddums1643 It's a joke. The Arjun is a really, really, bad design that has a lot of elements copied out of the Leo II. The only two tanks I'm aware of that are worse are the Bod Semple tank and a British prototype that the evaluation crew drove for 12 miles, then got out and refused to get back in.
I really do hope you make a video about some lesser known MBTs, preferably from the Cold War era, like Osorio and Olifant. PS. Is the request for the Iranian tanks still up, or it's a lost cause?
Iranian tanks are not that interesting, they mostly use well known tanks we all know. The ones they build/upgraded on their own do only exist in so small numbers that 1) they don't actually matter on the battlefield 2) there is is almost no deeper information about them.
Olifant is just a modernised centurion. Nothing special about it aside from ERA and electronic equipment. Iranian tanks are not very interesting as most of them are imports.
@@azrael9016 Well, the greatly improved hull protection of the STRV-122 and Leopard 2E/ Leopard 2A7V would count as the fix, would it not? there are very few rounds in the world that can get through that at combat ranges.
The leopard 2 was designed to defend Germany against Russia. It’s a defending tank. Taking this into account, the ammo in the hull makes much more sense.
@@TheNicestPig No, they are definatly not. They are the defination of attack tanks. Thats why they have cramped compatments, are able to be mass produced and lack a good reverse gear. Russias defence since the lessons of the second world war was always the offence sadly for the western civilization.
@Captain Germany They are made to just sit in one place and shoot, hence the crap depression, weak lower glacis and sub-par mobility (at least on T-90A), cramped crew spaces has nothing to do with anything. If anything, it made the tank smaller, harder to hit, and more armored. Slow reverse gear was also a decision centered around having a smaller profile.
Totally agree with all of them. But i wanna point out that many issues where removed in later varients, and that the hull ammo doesn't have to be used, you can, simply just put ammo in the turret compartment. Another factor to consider is that the leos (especially leo1) rely on their speed and not their armor to survive shots.
@@Jason-jb1vs the main threat to them are manpads, i´m not sure how much tank to tank action they see and i kinda doubt that they´ll use those against infantry or houses, and we´re not talking about 15 shots, but about 5*15 shots, even if the kurds use some armored vehicles they wont have many of them
@@moritzk3004 tanks in Ukraine are carrying over 60% heat and he, and only a few darts, most of the tank shells are fired at fortifications, if a tank only carries 15 rounds it’ll be in more trouble since how often they need to leave their position for refills, to my knowledge Russians and Ukrainians over fill their tanks with shells, those turret flying Abrams in middle east also exploded because of over filling ammos, they know the risk of it and still did it, shows how important ammo carrying ability is

This dude does not know what he's on about. I served as a gunner on a Leo 2A4NO, and we don't have any of those issues. And yes, there is extra armour around the ammo storage. And there's no easy way to destroy the Leo 2. This is fake news.
Did the Bundeswehr pay you to say that? The German army is full of propaganda mate, I'm afraid to tell you but the army tried to make an APS once and failed. Apparently the FCS u use is American too, not to mention it took until '95 for thermal sights to be implemented for the commander and it's still not very good. Not saying that the Abrams or Challenger are any better, but I'm afraid the Leo 2 is pretty flawed, especially the 2A4.
Great video, this time you addressed the biggest issue of this tank, ie. the unsafe ammo rack in the hull. And added to it you also gave a great solution for that problem, kraus maffei should use merkava protected bin type ammo storage style for the Hull ammo of leopard 2a7. Well explained.
The best way to protect the hull ammo rack is to stay hull down, or add more protection to it. One is doctrinal, the other is already done. Have you seen the hull armour values for the STRV-122 and Leopard 2A7? They're incredibly impressive.
Won't really do any good. In fact a sealed bin would probably make the problem worse. A sealed bin would contain the overpressure and heat just long enough to set off the remaining ammo. If you don't have a way to vent the explosion outside the tank - your better off with keeping the ammunition inside spall liners.

Leopard 2 destroyed in this video was in Turkish service, killed by a Kurdish female antitank missileer. On the original video, you can hear her joy as she celebrates. She has been fighting ISIS for years, and probably has more combat experience than the entire tank crew.

Are you kidding? There's plenty of videos, pictures and schematics of what's inside a Leopard 2 (and Abrams for that matter). There are also simulators like Steel Beasts which are incredibly accurate. He literally show footage of those systems you call "classified" in this very video.
@@dennisvisser3910 well the leopard is called an "cavalry tank" which means that it is more used in hit and run battles. Therefore it's speed and damage it can deal.

I agree on the hull armour, but it is one of those things you learn to live with. dont put the tank in position where it is likely to get shot in the weak spots. using terrain to your advantage is half of tank battle. leopard 2 has a brilliant engine and it move very quickly from one place to another, this is something the video failed to mention. (even in reverse, which is something the russian tanks are not very good at) also, the sight weakness was fixed in 2a5 and versions after that as the main gunner sight was lifted above then angled armour. 2a4 still has this weakness, but considering you have to be facing the front of the turret to make that shot I wouldnt call it too much of a weakness. the leopard main gun can hurt anyone who gets a view from that perspective anyway ;) finally, the thermal sight: I personally liked the sight. sure, it lacks some automatic image adjustment functions like newer generation thermal sights do, and some have some interference on the screen, but overall it worked really well when I used it. emes15 is a brilliant main sight and works really well with the leopard 2 stabilizer. I dont think it can really be called bad if you have a user who can manually keep it adjusted to weather conditions.

I don't know where you got your information about leopard 2a6 or 7, but the crew commander has a full thermal day and night sight with complete fcs. i won't enter in details cause it's classified informations. Leopard 2a6 and 2a7 can withstand any direct hit without penetration of any type of known rounds, knew or old types. Don't worry the armor behind the main sight, is also full protected , so do the hull's ammo bin with multiples means of protections. The outer components can still be damage and replace properly by the maintenance platoon of a squadron. Never take granted that the informations on based internet games like war thunder or world of tank is accurate. Most of the time, the information is bias for any reasons. Never forget that sensitive military informations in the real world are highly classified. Like the composition of the new mbts armors or its thickness. Note: the only reason a Turkish leopard 2a6 would explodes, is that the crew itself blown up their tank with special charges to make sure it doesn't fall in wrong hands cause of tactical awareness or incapacity of towing it out to the safe zone of the first line maintenance.
"informations based on internet games" are rather inaccurate, yep. They are entertainment games, thats all, nearly nothing to do with reality. Nothing period. (former gunner and later commander of IFV Marder, the infantry element carrier tailored to support and defend Leopard 2 in the cold war )

The Canadian Armed Forces needed replacement tanks for the very old Leopard C2 tanks (Leopard 1). The C2s were far to vulnerable and weak for use in modern conflicts. Canada needed a new tank. So they settled on used Leopard 2A4s. The Canadian Armed Forces were well aware of this tanks shortcomings so they ended up heavily modifying these tanks. They purchased 60 used Leopard 2A4s from the Netherlands and added over 100 mm of belly armor to the lower glacious plate and front belly pan armor. This required a major upgrade to the suspension to deal with the extra 6 tons of weight this armor adds to the tank. New radios, battle computer, night vision optics, air conditioning and anti mine/anti IED EW black boxes were added. These former 2A4s were specially modified for deployment in Afghanistan when the Canadians were stationed there and were redesignated Leopard 2A6M CAN tanks.

Can you make videos to cover the heavily modernized T-54/55 variants like the T-55AGM, Pakistani Al-Zarrar and Bangladeshi Type-59BD/G? I still wonder just how effective they are in a modern battlefield.
@Aidda MBT-2000 or less the same thing since its the Chinese export version. But Pakistani Al-Khalid has some additional stuff/modifications they added like VARTA Active Protection System or Naiza 125mm Depleted Uranium rounds which Pakistan manufactures. Fire control system could be different too.
2a4 has lack of armor protection to Modern ATGMs.. we learned it with most painfull way... We lost about 5-6 to ISIS , 3-4 to PKK (aka SDF) 9 of them shot by ATGM, 1-2 of them destoyed by trapped explosions detonation. on the other hand , Isreal modernized M60-t Sabra tanks nailed everyone , took multiple hit but gave only small caulties . So our army learned a great lesson from field: If you want to destroy other tanks , take Leopard 2 If you want to deal with infantry armed with ATGMs inside of urban-bad terrained area, use M60 Sabra
God damit - just leave the ammo storage in peace! You can leave it empty and still have the one in the turret . . . And btw. : The Leo2 has good frontal armor and a penetration will most likely will come from ABOVE by a atgm (like in Syria) and in this case your beloved blowup pannel is useless. At least I never saw a blowup pannel downwards.
Long ago I carried a 3.5" rocket launcher for anti-tank duty in my mech infantry battalion. Because the opposing T-55 and T62 tanks were too heavily armored for a shot at the hull or turret to be effective, we were trained to get up close, say 50 meters, and hit the drive sprocket which would immobilize the tank. Unfortunately, it doesn't immobilize the turret and its coax MG. That made any attack with a 3.5" to likely be a suicide mission.
Any Tank can be easy with anti Tank missile destroyed. Everything jusy show to keep the tank business running. Look at the Merkava tanks what happend to them in lebanon 🤣
There is a reason why the hull storage together with a comparably weak hull armour is the weak side of the Leopard 2. German cold war tank tactics were centered around the concept of delaying action (hope this is the right translation). That is waiting in cover and behind a hillside or another kind of position for the enemy force and only exposing the tank turret to the enemy. Then after wearing out the enemy but before they reach the own lines quickly moving back, hiding in the next position and wearing out the enemy again. With this tactic in mind the protection of the turret becomes the main priority and a weaker hull protection is acceptable because the hull is not supposed to be exposed to the enemy at all but rather be hidden behind a wall of dirt.
This problem is/was fixed with the a5 variant and turkey refused the upgrade and it refused modern tank doktrines fielding the A4 in urban warfare without cover by infantry and other armored anti personell vehicles. This is quiet well studied by Rheinmetall and the Bundeswehr actually
wait… did he say that the Leo 2 got weak side armor or did i misshear something…… like no shit … the side of a tank not being the most armored part of a tank...
i think the biggest problem with our Leopard 2 ist that he is !!40!! Years old and the german gouvernment making just one combat value inrease after another instead of plan and build on a complete new Leopard 3
Let's face it, no tank is invincible, especially against modern-day troops armed with Javelins and NLAWS etc. Troops used to need tanks to advance but nowadays it's the other way around at times.
Something to take from this, most models are A4s which has a deadly weakness. The European countries are lagging behind in upgrades, but the upgrades are becoming a hot topic. A few, such as Norway and Poland, are eying South-Koreans tanks...
With each Leopard generation, the flaws of the past wash away farther and farther into just that, the past. Whenever the Challenger 2 LEP argument comes up, I get frustrated that my country was offered 200 Leopard 2A7V conversions for a great value £1.8M per tank, and we refused. Many times I see people quoting the flaws with earlier Leopard variants as evidence of why we were right to turn this down, which annoys me, because knowing the A7V's capabilities as I do, the Challenger 2 is inferior in just about every single metric other than rate of fire.
These issues are known to all armies that still field the 2A4. The composite behind the gunners sight is sufficient enough to protect the commander. Its not like in WT where the rounds always punch through. The gunner sights are mainly valnouabrle to shrapnel and the resolution on the thermals isnt that bad either more then enough for traditional tank on tank combat. This tank isnt also suited for such operations seen in desert storm where the abrams and challengers or even russian tanks can handle. The leopards were designed to hull down firing position combat tactics, moving between 3-5 different positions which work pefectly since it doesnt show the weak hull armor. The turkish used all the wrong tactics in a landscape and situations to which this tank isnt designed for. In 2015 when i still served with the vehicle we had military footage of them using it pointing out exactly what happens when you push the tank into a situation not suited for it. It is a good tank which can still hold its own against more modern tanks if used correctly but even the 2A7 PSO isnt invarnuable againt urban combat. No tank is which is IFV’s and infantry always need to protect it. This hasnt changed since ww2

Also one kill doesn't mean jack shit compared to the numerous problems that are present with the riffled barrel that I already mentioned.
a lot of these "flaws" can be fixed with minor modification, or by just literally installing an upgrade kit that has already been made and fit to most leopard 2's its like saying that the Cat C13 is a flawed engine because the belt slips .... so just, install the update kit ... if that minor issue really is a big deal for you
if you didn't know that leopard 2A4 is newer production of leopard 2 that has gunner sight but it was upgraded in Leopard 2A5 that made it on top of the turret which required making whole new turret for leopard 2A4 and in this video which if you didn't know that most modern Leopards are on upgraded Leopard 2 hulls and turrets reasons for this? well mostly it works better have working tank model that can be upgraded in need and be changed like M1 Abrams that was mostly just upgraded to fit newer and powerfull armors and weaponary. speaking of leopards survibility it of course lacks blow out panels on it's hull, but it wasn't made to take on any hits on the hull that why it was made to use any terrain as it's advange over it's enemies. currectly leopard 2A6 which is the newest model of leopard 2 has most protected frontal turret armor well of course it might not be most protected in paper for others to take some secrit documents to get it but it's angled frontal turret armor absorbs incoming APFSDS shells and it makes them lose their momentum and speed to be able to penetrate it's armor which in action makes it almost be invulnerable any used shells in modern tanks of course russians know this and germans know this and are trying to make them more protecting while russians mostly just need bigger gun caliber to pierce it of course this part is just being theore about it just needing bigger gun to pierce it well in my mind no well placed shots on tanks can make them be useless in battle. (speaking of caliber darts just need to be bigger)
The Problem is not with Leopard 2 but 1. The absurd tactical concept the Turks applied in Syria. 2. The Version a4 that took a battering is not contemporary. It is 30 years old . Concentrated fast moving combined Arms Leopard 2a7v battle groups would have suffred not such losses.
4:00 wrong...Pzb 800 was replaced in 1983 with the WBG-X by Zeiss. Standard by now for all German MBT´s is by now the PERI R17A3 or the Cassidian Optronics PERI RTWL . So your claim that the optics, rangefinders and thermal sights are 40 years old..is simply bullshit, and a simple Internet research would have given you that information. And the Problems with the 2a4 only consider the turkish ones, they have been told that those where con cepted for early cold war frontal tank batlles and where outdated in every aspect, the turkish goverment is planing to upgrade them since then. later they tried to purchse more modern Leopard variants ,but where denied to do so. the German Government feared they would use it against the Kurds ( wich they are now doing ). since that the turkish are boasting on how about they would make their 2a4 even better than the most advanced 2a7 variants under the branding "Leopard 2 Next Generation" by ASELSAN...wich you guessed it...never happend. and even build their own Version of the Leo (without License or consent from Rheinmetall or the German Government ) . Instead they introduced their "domestic" Altay Tank...wich is basicly a K2 Black Panther with a Leopard 120 mm cannon, engine and transmission..And lastly you left out to mention that the most of the turkish Leo2a4 where destroyed by turkish forces, they where incapacitated in various forms prior, and then destroyed by turkish forces so enemy forces could not salvage them...or from them. must be very convinient to only tell 32% of the facts.
one slight correction, although the commander PERI was constantly upgraded, the gunner sight and WBG wasn't, only now with the A7AV or maybe even only with the A7A1 the gunner finaly receives a new thermal sight.
Wasn’t there a video showing like 8 of these leopard 2 tanks destroyed in the Middle East all in the same spot? How does that even happen I thought this was suppose to be one of the best tanks in the world
It was used by the Turks and the model was the 2A4 which is now 40 years old and the Turkish crews were inexperienced, they did not infantry support as well, nowadays tanks move in with some infantry to protect it's flanks, the Leapord 2 was made for mid to long range btw and it was put into an urban situation which it was not made for
when i served the german army back in the 90´s we had Leo2A4 and the common saying from tank crews was put in the front ammo bay some casks of beer and you have a 200% higher survivability.....if not; enjoy your last beer :-). The latest Leo1 A5 at that time were completely obsolet ....nice weapon and sight and all but you were still in a moving coffin ! only usable for hidden positions and quick position changes were a must to survive...they gave it about 15min-30min in battle !
Since the A5 upgrade the turret only got longer to add air conditioning to the fighting compartment. So the hull storage is still there, although in practice the 15 shells stored in the turret are more than enough so in most situations the hull storage will stay empty anyways
The Turkish Leopard 2's were stock A4 version's. This version was designed to fight the Soviets on German territory, not an insurgent type war. The uparmored version's were not used. Also why not talk about the Leopard 2A4M Can. This version is rarely ever talked about.
Crew training and tactics first. Turkish losses have fallen significantly, despite their opponents getting more experience, which should have made them more effective. Yet Turkish forces learned too, so tanks are the same, but losses are nowhere near as significant.

Well some people would argue the t72-b version is better that any t-90 . Both tanks are literally equal garbage . The optics are medieval compared to almost any other mbt produced right now. Nightfight capability is Zero in both tanks .Not even the russian doctrine can excuse that anymore .
However Leopard 2 is the most overrated tank in the world.
@@GreatPolishWingedHussars it is. It actually is a pretty bad tank and one reason why Scholz won't give them to ukraine is probably the fear that the low quality of the L2 is recognized all over the world.
@@Kl-bx9gv I have this suspicion too!

During the whole cold war and many years Later,
The german armed forces where purely a defencive force.
I give you that, yes, it is kinda a joke that the commander sight received 3 upgrades by the time the gunner sight received it's first :-)
As for the ammo storrage in the hull, yes that would be a weak point, but again, doctrine hull down, not offence, yet the front is well armored, so also the heavy side skirts on the front.
I will also admit, that the german version is by far not "the best" version of the Leopard 2, already back in my days, when we just received the 2A5, the Sweeds had their much more modern StrV 122
I'm realy looking forward to the german forces receiving the Leopard 2A7A1 with the best part beeing, BRAND NEW HULLS :-)
Edit: for the "modernized" A4 variants, none of those are from KMW, those are inexpensive retrofit packs for Leopard 2A4 operator countrys that don't have the means or willingness to fully upgrade too an A5 turret.

The leopard 2 was designed to defend Germany against Russia. It’s a defending tank. Taking this into account, the ammo in the hull makes much more sense.
If you want a TRUE defending tank, you should see the Russian Tanks, those are textbook defense-oriented tanks
Well that and the Challenger 2
@Captain Germany And by that i mean Tanks made for defense purposes, not an armor-orientated tank.
That last point is very true since most of the time the first shot matters the most.

@@AllThingsCubey yeah i had seen the values of leopard2a7's hull front and swedish trails also assured same values for 2a6.
Won't really do any good. In fact a sealed bin would probably make the problem worse. A sealed bin would contain the overpressure and heat just long enough to set off the remaining ammo. If you don't have a way to vent the explosion outside the tank - your better off with keeping the ammunition inside spall liners.

Hes talking about the ammo right
I agree on the hull armour, but it is one of those things you learn to live with. dont put the tank in position where it is likely to get shot in the weak spots. using terrain to your advantage is half of tank battle. leopard 2 has a brilliant engine and it move very quickly from one place to another, this is something the video failed to mention. (even in reverse, which is something the russian tanks are not very good at)
also, the sight weakness was fixed in 2a5 and versions after that as the main gunner sight was lifted above then angled armour. 2a4 still has this weakness, but considering you have to be facing the front of the turret to make that shot I wouldnt call it too much of a weakness. the leopard main gun can hurt anyone who gets a view from that perspective anyway ;)
finally, the thermal sight: I personally liked the sight. sure, it lacks some automatic image adjustment functions like newer generation thermal sights do, and some have some interference on the screen, but overall it worked really well when I used it. emes15 is a brilliant main sight and works really well with the leopard 2 stabilizer. I dont think it can really be called bad if you have a user who can manually keep it adjusted to weather conditions.

I love the leo2 but there are problems with every tank and I’m glad that you have an unbiased opinion but btw the shell problem with hull ammo all u gotta do is take only 16 rnds

@Dannebrogs Søn Why should I care about not being in the ethnic majority anymore?
@Dannebrogs Søn That is literally not an argument. I know that we should help people in need and that we should aim for people having the freedom to choose their residence and home. Economically immigrants help us for example by decreasing the cost of commodities, this is a proven fact by peer reviewed meta-analyzes.
Leopard 2 is basically just a training simulator tank for conscripts and western militaries who don't have significant military capabilities
So our army learned a great lesson from field:
If you want to destroy other tanks , take Leopard 2
If you want to deal with infantry armed with ATGMs inside of urban-bad terrained area, use M60 Sabra
Very good and objective analysis thank you
War thunder sort of historically accurate vehicles
I love your vids. Since i found this channel.
There is any about the swedish strv tanks?
Keep the good work.
They A: are developing a new one and B: Abrams, T90s(original T72) etc are all that old.

No, Arjun, you can´t come.

So this vid is basically just about the downs of the Leopard 2 A4 xD

Zero problems.......longest tank kill in history and best armour.
@@daveandmerlin Zero problems?
It's slow
The rifled barrel is expensive, wears out faster, and can't use as many rounds of ammunition including new ones that are being developed now
Two part ammunition stowage means it can't practically switch to a different gun
It's armor is not the best because both the Abrams and Leopard 2 have received better armor packages
@@lowesmanager8193 how many leopards and Abrams have been lost compared to the Challenger?? Shit loads !!! Even RPGs have busted open Abrams, leopards!! Like I said the Challenger has the longest kill in Tank History and is the best armoured.
@@daveandmerlin first of all t14 is "best armoured" and also the abrams is the most common anti terrorist tank out there so it would make sense to have more casualties.
@@daveandmerlin If by "shit loads" you actually mean a few dozen then yeah sure but that's completely ignoring the fact that the Abrams used to have very little IED protection and was used much more heavily than any other MBT and it was often used in urban areas. The Leopard 2 also used to have much less protection than it does now but even so the Leopard 2s that have been lost have almost all been lost due to retarded tactical decisions made by the Turkish army with old Leopard 2s with more limited protection.
Like I already said, both the Abrams and the Leopard 2 have received upgrades and redesigns to make them much more armored to the point where the armor criticism is useless.
Also one kill doesn't mean jack shit compared to the numerous problems that are present with the riffled barrel that I already mentioned.
I say the main problem of Leopard 2 today is its cost. Over $35M for a piece is insanity even for the best tank. Which it's not.
a lot of these "flaws" can be fixed with minor modification, or by just literally installing an upgrade kit that has already been made and fit to most leopard 2's
its like saying that the Cat C13 is a flawed engine because the belt slips .... so just, install the update kit ... if that minor issue really is a big deal for you
Problems with Leclerc will be 2 hrs long 🤣😂🤣👍
if you didn't know that leopard 2A4 is newer production of leopard 2 that has gunner sight but it was upgraded in Leopard 2A5 that made it on top of the turret which required making whole new turret for leopard 2A4 and in this video which if you didn't know that most modern Leopards are on upgraded Leopard 2 hulls and turrets reasons for this? well mostly it works better have working tank model that can be upgraded in need and be changed like M1 Abrams that was mostly just upgraded to fit newer and powerfull armors and weaponary. speaking of leopards survibility it of course lacks blow out panels on it's hull, but it wasn't made to take on any hits on the hull that why it was made to use any terrain as it's advange over it's enemies. currectly leopard 2A6 which is the newest model of leopard 2 has most protected frontal turret armor well of course it might not be most protected in paper for others to take some secrit documents to get it but it's angled frontal turret armor absorbs incoming APFSDS shells and it makes them lose their momentum and speed to be able to penetrate it's armor which in action makes it almost be invulnerable any used shells in modern tanks of course russians know this and germans know this and are trying to make them more protecting while russians mostly just need bigger gun caliber to pierce it of course this part is just being theore about it just needing bigger gun to pierce it well in my mind no well placed shots on tanks can make them be useless in battle.
(speaking of caliber darts just need to be bigger)
Would it be possible to upload the Arjun videos on an alternative video site like Bitchute or whatever?
The Problem is not with Leopard 2 but
1. The absurd tactical concept the Turks applied in Syria.
2. The Version a4 that took a battering is not contemporary. It is 30 years old .
Concentrated fast moving combined Arms Leopard 2a7v battle groups would have suffred not such losses.

So the 2A4 has some Real problems. Yes, sure but all the weaknesses got upgraded in the A5, A6 and A7
4:00 wrong...Pzb 800 was replaced in 1983 with the WBG-X by Zeiss. With the introduction of the Leo 2a5 it again changed to the PERI R17A2 with an inbuild TIM (Thermal Imaging Modul) OPHELIOS-P, later upgraded versions in Germany Canada and Denmark with the ATTICA Sytem ( a5 are no longer in Service in Germany and are stored for possible trials, canibalisation or conversion ).
I am a strv122 mechanic and a vig problems i have noticed are leaks in exhaust manifold, overheating electronics and overall unreliable elevtronics.

It's almost 100% identical to the 2A5
@@devilishwolfie6975 well I would say 95% but I get your point. The only difference really is the turret armor and the sloped front.

Wasn’t there a video showing like 8 of these leopard 2 tanks destroyed in the Middle East all in the same spot? How does that even happen I thought this was suppose to be one of the best tanks in the world
The tank is only as good as its crew and tactics.
Saying about the hull ammo storage, there is a common practice in Warthunder to bring only 15 rounds so there will only be ammo in the turret.
Do you play war thunder?
Man you really make the best videos on armor out there, so informative
Atleast it's better than that one particular tank that originated from that one country
Leopard 2A5 to A7 have no ammo stored in the hull 🙄
That's why they made the turret longer, to store all ammunition in there 🤷🏻♂️
sadly not
Since the A5 upgrade the turret only got longer to add air conditioning to the fighting compartment. So the hull storage is still there, although in practice the 15 shells stored in the turret are more than enough so in most situations the hull storage will stay empty anyways
The problem with the turkish leopard 2 is the crew that manned them
Sshhh, don't speak sense!
Sly Carl Yes because a better crew would make it more resistant against a ATGM
The Turkish Leopard 2's were stock A4 version's. This version was designed to fight the Soviets on German territory, not an insurgent type war. The uparmored version's were not used.
Also why not talk about the Leopard 2A4M Can. This version is rarely ever talked about.
Crew training and tactics first. Turkish losses have fallen significantly, despite their opponents getting more experience, which should have made them more effective. Yet Turkish forces learned too, so tanks are the same, but losses are nowhere near as significant.
I want to become a tank crew member in the future.
