Nice Becca, your patio area is looking so very tropical vibe ish! You are so lucky that you live in the climate you do, it would make growing plants so much different than where I live and have to struggle with the snow and super cold frigid weather. I have been trying to organize my spare room, and move some of my plants around since the weather is getting warmer. When I have my sunroom/ porch area then I will be able to arrange so many more plants in that better lighting. I love to watch my UA-camrs that live in warmer climates and how they are styling their plants outside. Thanks so much for this video, we all need these kinds of videos to keep us entertained and sane during all of this self isolation. Be safe and stay healthy, also love to see me a little Leo he is just the cutest most adorable little guy. XOXO, bye for now.
I just told my son we have to start cleaning up and getting our outdoor space ready. Here in KY we have a couple weeks left till night time temps are in the 50's consistently but I usually manage to have it all staged by Mother's Day. You are my muse for this task now! I am looking forward to a happy summer growing season. Edit: I meant to mention that although matching pots in coordinating colors is very nice, I also like the casual bohemian look of mixed pots. I have never had enough loose change around to run out and buy 2 dozen matching pots or baskets myself. Your porch looks great. Happy growing!
It’s so fun anticipating spring! :) and yes I do also kind of like the mixed look - I’ll probably embrace that look because I don’t want to buy more pots I don’t really need 😂
I live in a NYC apartment and wish I at least have a balcony to bring out plants. Someday soon or better yet a house. In the mean time checking out videos of balcony makeovers. Are you planning to go all out out a cozy sitting area, maybe a tiny table, rug and accessories to enjoy sitting out with your plants? Looking forward to see what else you do with the space.
I’m definitely thankful for what I have here!! It’s too small for a sitting area, but I’m definitely looking into having an outdoor runner possibly :) I don’t want to overcrowd! Hehe
I moved most of my plants outside last weekend. It’s been weirdly cold at night where I live for April but since I’ve had so much spare time lately I built a clear roof for my succulents and cacti so I can put them out in full sun and not have to bring them in every time it thunderstorms which it does a lot where I live lol
Your “patio” looks so cozy and welcoming 😍 We can’t begin to put anything out in the yard for at least a month. NY is still in the 50s( Long Island) I’ll live through you💗😂🌱Leo is adorable 🐶
I'm amazed that your ficus can handle the AZ heat. I'm in Phoenix and my amazing 7 foot rubber tree got burnt (on the north side of my house!) and never recovered and I had to get rid of it. Now I'm terrified to put any of my indoor plants outside again!
So pretty! I still have a while. I moved out my banana tree, I am wanting to put my ruby rubber tree out but it drops to the 40s at night. I don't think that looks excessive at all, I think you have the right amount for people to notice and go "oh wow cool" when they see it.
I’m sitting on my front porch right now! I was so excited to see the title of this video. I love making the the outside spaces homey. I think of it as adding to the square footage of our homes. I love what you did! I hope you have a few of those folding chairs and that you sit out there with a friend (after Covid of course) I’m jealous of those hanging plants and I love how you did it without drilling holes! Smartie! Enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts!
I’m just about to go outside and do this!! My patio is a DISASTER and I’ve been putting it off for way too long haha. Your outdoor space is beautiful Becca! I drool a little every time I see that massive ghost euphorbia😂
YOU tickle my funny bone! "Gurl....has been hit by the ELEMENTS!!!!" Hahahahaha! I have lived all over the world but never have I ever has SOOOOOO many elements hit me like living in AZ! Ha! :). Great video! Your porch looks amazing! :)
I was “hit by the elements” so badly in AZ that I had to leave! Also, lived all over the world and just could not handle Arizona. But loved the weather and miss that.... 😕
I just love it, Becca. It's so nice to see such an 'early' Spring where you can actually get things outside. Up here it's never safe until after Mother's Day. I've decided to go ahead and put a few things outside this year on my tiny little balcony until the landlord tears it off. Probably just some cacti and maybe a couple of the rescues. I'd like to hang a few, I just worry about the birds starting nests!!! lol Oh, and thunderstorms/tornadoes :)
this video was really helpful becca! i too live in arizona and i’ve always wondered what houseplants can handle our intense summers, i might bring my rubber tree outside now ☺️ if this helps i keep a yucca, philodendron hope, bird of paradise, snake plant, and philodendron xanadu out on my east porch and they do well year round :)
This was such a good video! :) id been thinking about moving my rubber tree outside to my patio as well! But I was kinda worried about pests and stuff but this gave me the push to do it :) I just got into plants last summer and I didn’t have any outside so this is a first for me
Ahhh so lovely! I would love to do this but I had a bad experience last year and I’m afraid to! I put only a few plants outside last spring/summer and they got pests! So I’m really nervous that it’ll happen again. My babies might just have to stay inside unfortunately. I’ll just admire your space from afar
I just got to know you because I started water propagating my plants and was interested in other people! Great videos, very happy to be here :D Also, first reaction x)
My dad managed to get me a strawberry plant the other day at the store when he went out shopping for food! :) I'm keeping it inside near a window for now but I'm excited to see if I get strawberries! I love the cactus gardens you did btw but I just love cacti in general so... xD
Loved the video, I'm so jealous! I live in Canada and I still have a patch of snow in my yard 😩 I can hardly wait to get out and do some spring clean up. A quick question, what direction does your patio face? I would love to put some of my Ficus out but I'm a little chicken and I figure (depending on the direction) if yours do well then mine should be fine. We get around 90ish degrees at the hottest.
You are so lucky to have a patio to take your plants to - I moved mine every other day to my garden but my neighbours cats like to visit my garden daily so it resulted in a very badly chewed up calathea pin stripe and cat poop in money tree... 😭
How much sun do these plants get? When the temperatures get up over 100 does the spider plant and Monstera Adansonii still do well or do u have to take them back inside? Does having the cacti in planters make them do worse due to the sun heating them up? Sorry for so many questions but I live in the same kind of climate and would like to take plants outside without killing them. Unfortunately, my yard faces west and is completely direct sun from after noon on.
This is a west facing patio but the trees bring in a lot of shade! The spider plant usually does fine but I’m noticing the adansonii isn’t doing as well so I’ll probably bring it in.
I can relate to the pesky fungus gnats. I put several peace lilies in the garage because of them. I’m so over gnats. I not only sprayed the plants but literally poured the neem in soil. They will stay in quarantine until the gnats are gone,
Cherry Chu I had it there when I was bending it over treating for spider mites so that the soil wouldn’t fall out! Lol - no real purpose anymore, I’m just lazy 😂
I like how the hanging plants and no it is not excessive. Off the subject but what breed is Leo? He looks like he could be one of those water dogs like the Obama's dog.
Thank you Beca for being so kind as to share this with us ♥
Of course! :)
Great job! You know what you would look great- an outdoor runner! That space just calls for it!
That’s an amazing idea!! 😍 never even thought of that!
Morning plants is a huge project and I always enjoy rearranging my babies 😊
It’s the best!
You say hi and Leo comes trotting over as if to say 'meee? Hello to you too' how cute 😍
Hahaha yes he always thinks I’m talking to him :)
I like the mismatched look! I'd be interested in a video about what types of plants would be happy outside for the summer.
That would be super fun!

Isn’t rearranging plants the best!? I love it! So glad you’re enjoying the vids and I hope you’re staying safe ❤️
I love the mismatched look. ❤
I finally got my balcony cleaned and set up. Got my own little garden in the sky, thanks for the outside hanging plant idea, def going vertical.

Please do more videos out on your patio! Loving the vibe ☺️
I’d love that! I’ll have to take advantage of the road being more quiet right now :)

To me walking up to a porch with plants or potted flowers or both makes it a home. Also you reminded me I need a new welcome mat 😂.
I agree completely!! I also need a new welcome mat. For some reason There’s a ton of stuff stuck in it and I can’t get it out 😒 haha
Great filming and music! 💚
Thank you! :)
It's just nice to get an area cleaned up and organize. I'll need to tackle my potting bench soon.
Yess!! 🙌🏼
I love it! Enjoyed watching.
Thank you!! :)

Those beautiful cacti in the box deserve a nice spot and pots tho.
I said in the vid I’ll be doing that! :)
Very nice outdoor area!
Thank you so much!
It turned out so cute! Love your outdoor area
Thank you!! 😊
your hair style is mega cool in this video 😍

Just move to AZ!!! 😉 hehe dan also told me he saw birds in my hanging plants the other day so I might have to make little scarecrows 😂
Becca De La Plants lol
TFS😊 great collection. During the video all I wanted to do is reach in and fix the blue cactus that falling🤣
HAHA trust me I’ve tried so many times. It just wants to lean 😂😂
Im also surprised you bring anything in for the winter in Tuscon! Your patios looking great!
I usually don’t until it gets in the low 40s and that only lasts a few months :)
It looks lovely! You have inspired me to clean my decking.
Yay! ☺️
I’m jealous that you can already move your plants outside! I still have probably a month till it is warm enough here😕
AZ life! 😂
I've been cleaning up my porch and enjoying it also. Yours looks great!
Thank you! ☺️
Nice job!!! Leo is so cute!!! 🐶❤️
☺️☺️❤️ thank you!
I CANT wait for the weather to be more consistent so I can put some things outside!
Yess!! Best time of the year ☺️

Looks great!! 😍 Something I need to do my self. 👍🏻
We probably all do! 😂
I can’t wait to do this but in Canada there’s a massive snowstorm rn yay 😭😭😭😭😔😔😔😔
Aghhhh😭😭
I'm rearranging my plants soon, too, and this gave me some inspo! Love your patio area!
That’s great!! Thank you ❤️

Ahh man! I did notice some weirdo bugs on my spider plants last year and they went away eventually haha
I just got to know you because I started water propagating my plants and was interested in other people! Great videos, very happy to be here :D
Also, first reaction x)
Aw that’s great!!
Looks great! I love all your macrames. What direction does the patio face?
It’s west facing :)

It snowed two days ago so our spring is delayed. We're not happy about it LOL
GAHH NOOO

Oh my gosh NOOO!! That’s awful 😭
Wow :o are all your Ficus able to handle the AZ light and heat in the summer too? I might consider putting my own plants out if they are!
Yes definitely! They don't get direct sunlight, but the patio provides A LOT of light that they can't get indoors.
How much sun do these plants get? When the temperatures get up over 100 does the spider plant and Monstera Adansonii still do well or do u have to take them back inside? Temps in NYC suddenly dropped to 37 as I’m seeing this video. Sigh.
gahh I'm sorry to hear that :(
I miss the DeLaPorch. :(
Come backkkkk
🌱🌿💚💕💕💕
This past weekend I took all 30 something plants outside to spray with neem oil. 2020 goal is to obliterate those fungus gnats
That’s awesome!
I can relate to the pesky fungus gnats. I put several peace lilies in the garage because of them. I’m so over gnats. I not only sprayed the plants but literally poured the neem in soil. They will stay in quarantine until the gnats are gone,
Which cardinal direction is your patio facing?
West!
I noticed on your fiddle leaf fig, you have tissue or paper covering the soil. Is there a reason/benefit for that?
Cherry Chu I had it there when I was bending it over treating for spider mites so that the soil wouldn’t fall out! Lol - no real purpose anymore, I’m just lazy 😂
@@BeccaDeLaPlants Thanks Becca! Making sure I wasn't missing out on any secret tips! Thanks for the great videos.
hahaha first thought on the intro.... where is the ficus back right :)
Hahah :) it’s outside now with its other ficus friends!
What is the name of the jungle cactus at 4:15? I neeed one lol
I actually don’t know the name 😭😭 ahh
What’s the song that you used in your video? It’s gr8!
Alison Tresch I loved it too! She put it on the screen at 5:02
Mari Bootz thanks so much!
❤️❤️
I like how the hanging plants and no it is not excessive. Off the subject but what breed is Leo? He looks like he could be one of those water dogs like the Obama's dog.
Aw! He gets compared to that breed a lot, but he’s a cockapoo! ☺️
@@BeccaDeLaPlants Awwwww
How high is the temperature where you live?
It’s getting up to around 85 F right now!
@@BeccaDeLaPlants Oh I see. I live in the northeast and the temperature is still in the mid fiffties.
I have that same empty basket cactus. Hardly ever water it. Easy for beginners.
Super easy!!
