- It's been 9 months since Hurricane Ian, June 28th, 2023. Here's a look at the construction progress of the Fort Myers Beach Margaritaville Resort. I think it's going to be a great shot in the arm to the community. Love the vibrant colors! You can really see the Sunset Terrace taking shape as well as the beach side pool area.
Cheers!
I’m looking forward to the opening
Us too
Local government selling out the community….huge eyesore
It actually looks really good when compared to DiamondHead. It will be good for the island.
@@CaribbeanCastaways Nonsense, it's a huge monstrosity out of character for the whole beach, and a poster child for what's wrong with unrestrained development controls.
I agree! All I could think of as I watched the video was...what an eyesore and looks like a major scar on the island. Money talks... When they named the area by the pier, Times Square...we were soooo disappointed. Then Margaritaville ... honestly, can't they come up with something original? It's NOT NY City nor is it Key West.
Oh...and CHEAP, it looks soooo cheap.
Those little “ wooden shacks” that existed there from long before while quaint make no sense along Florida beachfronts. Beachfronts need concrete “fortresses” that can actually withstand extreme weather.
Worst place for that hotel in Fort Myers Beach!
Traffic will be a mess. Need more pedestrian bridges, not stop lights!
Who thinks this is a good idea?
I do.
Meeeeee
Prime example of politics at their worst! This place is a monstrosity!😢 these politicians should be ashamed, but of course, they’re probably proud of themselves 😒 Sadly, the island will never be the same…it will be big hotels and McMansions.
