The sad part about this is that most of these people seem to have been preyed on by organised crime, considering a lot of the drug traffickers seem to be doing this to support their families. It's also sad that a lot of them had the opportunity to talk to the officers and tell them about their situation, but since organised crime has been shown to retaliate at anyone that gives up any information about them, those families that they've been desperately wanting to help could be put in danger. They're vulnerable people, either because they were from the start or made themselves exploitable by people like this. Individuals usually aren't the biggest problem when it comes to drug trafficking, especially not seemingly regular people like this, but rather those behind them.

Literal tons of drugs get into the US every single day either by car ,ship or plane.
The stuff you see seized in these programs is a tiny amount that gets in daily .
And most of these busts are probably called in to the authorities by the same drug dealers that are sending the drugs in the first place .
They just throw law enforcement a bone once in a while to justify their jobs

Most people don't get caught doing illegal things. 98% of all "legitimate" businesses are corrupt and they steal millions from their customers over a long period of time. Also a lot of drug smugglers don't get caught, and the cartel almost never pay for their crimes. They live lavish long lives.

Agree they are several steps ahead of American airports! There system is awesome! And these officers are so professional!
I admire their security so much more then ours.

I watched too much Locked Up Abroad so it’s cool to see how the smugglers get caught nowadays in Brazil and Peru and yeah they got this down tight. You’re not getting past them and you have to be either high or super desperate to even attempt this!
