I switched over most of 500+ collection to mylar. I love the way the covers pop and hope someday to pass my collection onto my daughter. I don't fault anyone who still uses poly, but for a few dollars more, I feel mylar is definitely worth the investment. Thank you for covering this topic.

I keep all my comics in mylites.If a comic is worth keeping surely 16c for a mylite is worth paying.Your comics will look great, be better protected,you'll never change a bag again,saving time and money in the long run,and you'll limit your plastic pollution.
Been too long since your last video! Glad to have ya back 😬 I don’t necessarily agree with you that one should get a new LCS if they don’t supply you with free bags and boards on your new comics. May not seem like a lot, but that adds up to a lot of time and money after a while. My LCS is pretty much a one man band and I’m sure his margins are tight. He will bag and board sometimes, but it doesn’t always happen nor do I expect it. He uses standard and I prefer resealable bags anyway. Don’t have to worry or fumble with tape and you get a nice even seal along the whole flap.
I agree! Too long. I spoke more about that topic, but I wound up editing it out for time and to stay focused. I know that a lot of shops don't do that and I think that I'm spoiled because out of all the shops that have come and gone in my area, out of 10, only 2 of them didn't come with bags and boards with new books. There's a local shop near me now that is essentially a one man show and he doesn't bag and board them all before he puts them out, but when he sells them, he includes a bag and board. I definitely think it should be a standard practice. But I can understand not doing it due to time and money.

Really?! Huh. I'll have to go back and look at some IDW books. As far as boards go, I just used 2 normal bcw boards. The "half-back" boards at egerber are essentially normal boards and "full-back" are THICK boards. Two to three normal backing boards should do ya just fine.
Not sure I'm doing mylar right as I got the current/modern size of 7" and boards of 6 7/8 but felt like when I put my 90s marvel hulk 340, new mutants 87, spiderman 316 and 301, they all seemed like I had to kinda force them down now my spawn 1 and 8 went in just fine is this normal is it because of the paper marvel used then that makes them harder to get in, just worried its gunna warp my comics
I'm not really interested in the details of collecting comics. The reason I buy and love comics is for the stories and the characters. So I would like to hear about that. Suggestions: Why you like certain characters or certain stories. Why Batman is better than similar characters such as Daredevil or Black Panther. I would like to hear original story ideas such as your evil Batman and Robin idea. I would love to hear vs stuff. Like who would win between Sabretooth and Bane. Or which Cap is best; 616, Ultimate, or MCU?
I've never used mylar 4, but I have heard numerous people say that it is almost too thick. And Mylar 2 is pretty thick. I would put like a hulk 181 in a mylar 4, but for everything else, a 2 is where it's at.
Ultra Pro Comic Presever is the best and its what I use. It comes with builded in board and there's no need for any tape. All sides and corners are protected. For even more protection, you can bag and board your books regularly and still can still it in the ultra pro comic Presever.
I want to say thank you!! I put all of my Weekly X books in BCW Mylar, and I want to move all of my back issues (1300) into Mylar, but instead of $40 for 50. I will go with $196 for 1000 Mylites 2.
Nice video To bad E Gerber no longer makes mylites and mylites+ they made bagging all comic books affordable. When your collection gets to a certain size space becomes a premium.
@@TheDudeWithoutFear For my independent comics my setup is mylites, half-backs, three sheets of microchamber paper and the comic book. I called E gerber about a year and a half ago to get some more mylites and was told they no longer make them. So all my DC and Marvel comics go in mylites 2.
Disagree with not putting lower value books in mylar, if they are in high grade. Because you only have to bag them once over the life of the comic, the cost per year is negligible. Plus, you never know how much any particular book may appreciate in value 10, 20, 30 years down the line. Keep it well-preserved for yourself, or its next owner.
2000 NEW MINT Comics all in mylar bags with fullback boards. If you seriously care about your comics, you'll stay away from standard bags & boards. Invest in quality, you'll be glad you did.
