Nicely done but what are real world applications? For instance at what point does the instant center lead to wheel hop? How do you manage scrub off road and why does scrub break spindles?
I am doing EE with focus on control theory. Do you have any suggestions on how to get involved with off road vehicles? I plan to pick up the book Theory of Ground Vehicles later this year. Any tips on further reading recommendations, subjects or companies to look into would be a huge help :D
Good question! It depends a little on the particular aspect of off road vehicles you’re interested in. There’s been quite a bit of work done over the last twenty years on using electronics to improve off-road performance, particularly things like Land Rover’s Terrain Response system, but the area that everybody is interested in at the moment is autonomy. Have a look at Industrial Vehicle Technology (IVT) magazine, which you should be able to get a free subscription to. Companies like Bosch Rexroth and Danfoss are starting to release automation products for the off-highway industry, and Oxbotica have run a series of projects in which they have developed automated SUVs.
Thank you so much for these uploads , hidden UA-cam gold literally,!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Daniel, that’s very kind of you. The channel has only just started, so the plan is to upload a lot more content over the coming months.
Subscribed, cannot wait to watch all of your videos
Thanks Ellis! Good to hear from you
