Sweet Becky - I’ve recently been reading through comments on your videos. I feel as if I need to apologize for the cruel comments that have been made (especially after cooking @ your Mom’s, when you had no water). I’ll never be able to understand how people become so evil, but just be sure you know that they are the ones w/problems - NOT YOU. I can’t imagine how lonely it must be, living (in their heads) so perfectly, and not like those of us who are human. I’m so happy to see what wonderful, beautiful, people the majority of your followers are. They are such a joy. YOU are such a joy. Be blessed. 😊

Becky, your brain is a masterpiece.
I have ADHD and my husband says I "bumblebee" around, doing little bits of chores here and there, and forget what I'm doing, switch gears part way, etc....(it's gotten worse as I age :P)
Getting ONE THING completely done is a challenge!!!
Having you here to inspire me to do a project/recipe/garden things REALLY HELPS me complete tasks!
How you manage a husband, pets, a homestead, a BABY, and a whole ass COMPANY this well is mind-blowing to me.
    You are truly incredible.
All of this while ALSO teaching us SOO MANY THINGS with compassion and kindness, a brilliant smile, and somehow still look BEAUTIFUL and well put-together?!?!?!?!!?!
    Girl.
You are superhuman to me and probably the majority of your viewers.
Thank you for being here for us!
It's a lot of work to do this and we appreciate and value you in all your glory

I just recently found your channel I must admit I’m very impressed. I am retired. The mother of 5, bonus mom of three, and grandma to 18. Juggling all of what you’ve accomplished is simply an amazing feat. Your energy is incredible. You are blessed to have a great support group of friend and family. I just watched your carrot and onion video. A few days ago I watched your new home tour. Oh my gosh you have done incredible things. When I grow up, I want to be just lije you, lol.

I appreciate you being open about the supportive community you have around you. A young woman in my life comments 'why can't i get it all done? Becky does!'. It was so valuable to discuss with her the value of a community (especially of you don't have supportive or local family) and the ability to ask for help.

I think it’s very important for content creators to be honest about how much help they have around - there are lots of parents without any help and they need to know they aren’t lazy - they just don’t have support like other people do, and they have to adjust their expectations.

Becky, I watch all your videos so I know that you are "beating" yourself up about the freezer. Look, take it from an old woman, it too shall pass! You have so many successes in your life, a great husband, a healthy baby, your parents are active and healthy, and you are a wonderful person. You are a caring wife and mother. Oh boy, could I write a book about my failures! HOWEVER, I have a great husband, relatively good health and I love my family, home and friends! I am a success as far as I am concerned!

    • @aloras405
      @aloras405 Рік тому +3

Our own failures are many times hard to accept. I have recently come to the mindset that failures are only iteration and learning opportunities. It's making it a bit easier to rebound from them. We aren't perfect but we can learn from our mistakes and do better in the future.

I want to thank you for showing us the reality of working from home. You are an inspiration for me and many people who watch your videos. Moving from teaching, to working in home healthcare during COVID, to retirement has been a huge change for me. I discovered the first year in retirement that I was exhausted and did absolutely NOTHING. I am now moving into finding a new challenge and watching you create a home for you and your family while working from home has inspired me. THANK YOU for all you do.

You are a great role model for new homemakers and homesteaders. Multi tasking is key! I'm retired and live in a second floor apt, but I still have a container garden for salad veggies. I grow scallions, romas, leaf lettuce, peppers, radishes, and cucumbers. I even have 3 huge grow bags with potato plants that always seem to do well. No matter how old or where you live, grow some wholesome food! I've been with your channel a long time. From the beginning, I knew you'd be successful. Your garden at your new home is amazing! Don't forget to take care of yourself and your needs too. Admiration from Vermont.

Hi Becky.👋 I think this video was amazing. It’s good for people to see the REAL side. So many people don’t realize just how much work one would put into their videos. It’s not magic. Some people need patience and also to realize that everyone on UA-cam have lives and it takes a special person to be able to juggle all and have such a WONDERFUL channel. Tfs. Have a great Sunday.❤️🤗

Can I just say, I am in awe of your ability to film multiple vlogs in a single day. I’ve watched more than once how you switch back and forth in the same day for separate vlogs. I honestly don’t know how you are able to multi task that so well. Because you are also often cooking multiple recipes keeping your house clean and caring for a baby….amazing!!! But for someone who turns out such lengthy and frequent content for us to enjoy, you definitely earn every ounce of success coming your way.

I was so crushed when I saw your videos that mentioned your freezer being left open. Especially because I knew you had spent a whole day doing a huge freezer meal cooking day with us and had put so much time and effort into the meals you had in there. I've been watching you about two years now and must say that your channel is one of my favorites. You and your whole family have become part of my daily life so much so that I feel like I'm an actual friend sitting in your kitchen with you. The only thing missing is that I can't smell or taste your kitchen through the screen 😉

Loved this Becky! I would also LOVE to see a behind the scenes of shooting a video. You have become the QUEEN of entrances and exits. I've noticed a lot of when you are leaving the kitchen (or any room) and entering the seed room, you show your exit and then it cuts to you entering with a tray of something and I imagine that behind the scenes that entails you filming your exit, going back for the camera and walking it to the other room and setting it up and them walking back into the room like it is all fluid. I would LOVE TO SEE how those things happen in real time and what goes into all of those moments we don't see. Maybe you could consider that one day.
    Thanks for sharing as always.

I felt like too much of this was clips we'd already seen. Not being negative, just giving honest feedback. Most of Becky's videos are already "a day in the life" style videos so not sure we need "a week in the life" which again, was mostly repeat clips.
No need to come at me, I've watched Becky since her first days like so many others and I'm entitled to my opinion 🍻

Hey Becky - super fan here. I appreciate you giving a week in the life, but it would be even cooler to hear you talk even more about the you-tuber biz part of your week -- like how are you feeling about running your business? How are you keeping clear on how much you're spending on the channel and how much it's making you? You mentioned having an editor -- how much does that cost relative to what you make? What about your healthcare coverage or the tax implications of your home being part of your business? It's all super interesting to those of us who've been with you on this journey for years! Much love - J

What’s in the box??? Lol I know we will eventually find out 😊 really enjoy all your videos. I’m going to turn 60 this year, some days feels more like 80, so one thing I’ve realized and greatly benefited from watching your videos is being organized is half the battle won! Not just organized, but making frequently used items more easily accessible. I struggle with wanting to be in the kitchen because of all the stuff that needs to be gotten out only to put back away. Love your flour/sugar drawer and attempting to do something similar in my kitchen. I may just end up enjoying cooking and baking more if it feels less like a chore. Keep up the good work and no sweat about the freezer. It’s all water under the bridge now.

Becky, the reason flowers and flowering bushes are important in the garden is to attract pollinators so you don't have to hand pollinate. Old rotten straw and grass clipping makes mulch. Covering the soil keeps it moist and encourages earthworms to come up to the surface to till and fertilize the soil with their worm castings and worm eggs. The mulch creates an environment for the microbial life, so important in fertilizing the soil for your plants. Mulch keeps weeds down to almost nothing. True the making of the mulch is an investment of time and energy but after 3 years it gets easier.

Great look into your week Becky. I wonder how many people thought your job was easy 😂. I think most people who are not self-employed have no idea how easy it is to let work take over your life. Finding that balance is probably the most difficult part. I appreciate you taking the time to give us a glimpse into the other side of your work life as well as a peek at how you try to find and keep the balance between work and your personal time. It always looks so easy when we just see the “fun” side… Wishing you a blessed week, thank you again for sharing! Bye friend 👋

Hello Becky! I noticed you pitting cherries with a knife. There is a really easy way to get the pits out using a straw. You poke the straw from one end to the pit and pull it out, then you turn the cherry to the other end and when you insert the straw the pit just pops right out! I found this supper useful when preserving a ton of cherries. Love the videos! Take care!

Becky, I am a retired Home Economics teacher. I am eager to see the out come of your garden this summer. Enjoy the video's and I am learning new gardening and canning tips. We are in Zone 10B and have already harvested String beans, tomatoes, apricots, and cucumbers! You are doing a great service encouraging people to start raising their own vegetables no matter how small a garden.

Anyone who is interested in starting a channel should watch. I hadn't seen the furniture in the sun room. It looks so cozy and comfy! So glad you have some help with all of "life". Everyone needs it. I know Jamerril had quite a few people behind the scenes. Again, so sorry about the freezer. It really makes your heart sink. Been there, done that. Thankfully it wasn't one of your meat freezers, but still a loss. Stay healthy and happy, friend.

There is only one bummer: now we still don't know what's in the box. 😂
I hope you, Josh and baby Acre have a wonderful week!

I really appreciate when you put in those relatable moments because it normalizes prioritization and that people's homes are not perfect all the time. My one comment recently is that there's definitely a change in sound level between your garden and kitchen and voiceover. Oh no! That’s when you left the freezer door open, isn’t it? My heart and mind were with you sweetheart. I’ve lost two freezers full of meat etc., when we lost power a few years ago during some rolling brown-outs here in SoCal and I didn’t make sure that the freezers would automatically just turn back on when the power came back on. Even though the freezers weren’t open, I left for a few days to help take care of my mom before she passed away, and came home to two freezers full of rotten food! That was the year we were having 115° heat waves, and two of my stand up freezers are under my covered deck out back. My other chest freezers in my storage area in my garage were okay. Ahhhh…it broke my heart and what a waste of money. Few thousand $ worth of beef, pork and chicken and vegetables, frozen fruit and several freezer meals. Not to mention the time, labor and love I spent on that! And what a mess! Hubby got little alarms for them that notifies me through their app if they’re not closed properly or the temperature falls below freezing. I think he got them at Home Depot, can’t remember. With just the two of us now (near our 70’s) I’ve had to adjust my recipes, so I love that you mention when you are doubling or tripling a recipe, same as Jamerrill does. I need the option to scale down or prepare a freezer meal for the future. So TY for that. We appreciate you so much for sharing with us and explaining the why’s and possible options in your recipes. I know I’m speaking for many when I ask if you are considering writing a cookbook sometime in the future? Much love and admiration from SoCal.

I always fold or hang up my laundry when it comes out of the drier...gets the job done faster, as well as saves some wrinkles in the material, etc, and I can stack the laundry easier in the baskets if they are folded, and I sort at the same time...jeans in this pile, socks in that, so they are easier to put away not going back and forth between drawers, closets, etc

We went away on a vacation during the summer. When we got back we knew immediately that something happened ( if you know what I mean!). A breaker in the garage flipped for some reason and we lost TWO freezers! Actually one was a refrigerator/ freezer, and the other was an upright freezer. I just stood there and cried. All the work I put into that freezer😳😭. Just broke my heart. The freezer came back on, but the surge broke the refrigerator, so we then had to buy another one.
